“Hard to find, harder to leave.”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

Having read the rave reviews for Le Banyan on Trip Advisor we had to go there. After taking a taxi to An Bang Beach we had a bit of trouble finding this restaurant. Eventually we found it at the end of a pathway which runs to the left as you face the beach.
It was worth the effort. We found a table just above the beach and settled down to an ice cold glass of white wine and La Rue beer.
From the tempting lunch menu we had grilled scallops and octopus which were cooked to absolute perfection. The cost was most reasonable, particularly given the quality of the food, service and location.
For the comfort of guests there are tables, hammocks, lounges and thatched covered lounge beds on the beach and lawn.
My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer and that we didn't get back a second time due to the many other dining attractions in Hoi An.
My ambition is to lure some unsuspecting friends to Le Banyan for the sumptuous breakfast, followed by lunch and dinner on the beach and a hangover the next morning.

“Read the reviews.....maybe went to the wrong restaurant!!!”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

The French as a nation are justifiably proud of their cuisine.
This restaurant is an awful misrepresentation.
The location is excellent as is the service.
They are only let down by the food.
Two goes by the chef on the mains yielded less than average cooking (however the resident dog enjoyed it); an embarrassment to anyone French. I can only guess either a change of chef or customers don't understand how the food should taste.
You can get stellar cuisine for the same money.
Don't go.

“Best beach club in Danang-Hoi An area”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

I'm a beach enthusiast and nearly every week at Le Banyan. The loungy daybeds are ideal for relaxation and the Mediterranean cuisine offers an excellent selection of seafood and meat from small tapas to full meals.

I frequent this beach club usually at daytime, however, at night it changes to a beach bar/lounge for the expats in the area, often with DJ's or other special events.

Reviewed February 1, 2013

It is very interest place on Hoi An beach. It's real french cuisine in Vietnam. owner this cafe is Frenchman. This French food I ate only in Provence! Very delicious! You can also play pool and petanque, at the bar you can negotiate with the trainer for learning to surfing. Staff speak on english, french and vietnamese languages.

“Great food and location!”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Superb location on the beach with a nice house and lounge bar and billard table...
We've been there 5 times and the food was always good (I recommend their "tartare de thon").
Friendly staff, just not stressed so don't expect the service to be very fast and enjoy a few beers waiting for the meal.
