“Outstanding food, lovely setting!”
Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

We went with friends to celebrate a birthday, engagement and anniversary. Renaud was fantastic, the set menu at 15 usd would still be a bargain at 100....
Delicious! And great wine too and even desert wine. The a la carte was so good we could go back every night!

Everything we had at bamboo Buddha was very nice. Would recommend highly the crime brûlée for dessert. The pumpkin soup is also very good . And French fries are fantastic too!! The toilets are very nice too. Overall a lovely experience.

“Fabulous night, hidden oasis”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

We found this wonderful little restaurant while walking around the town. What a great night. The foi gras was to die for and we all had the Australian beef for main course very tender and very tasty. The beer was icy cold and the French wine very nice. The host was excellent. It's is nice to see the owner on the premises. We will definitely return. Thanks for an amazing night.

“Great food, excellent atmosphere”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

Since coming to Hoi An and learning of all the great food options, both Western and Vietnamese, it was hard to sort through the choices. This one is certainly worth a try though. The location is perfect- out of the way of the usual central touristy area, but a close walk over the charming Lantern Bridge and always accessible to taxis (unlike central historic old town which is off limits to taxis) and motorbikes. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really lovely as well and a great place to have dinner before sticking around for a cocktail in the cozy lounge area or to stop for a chat with local expats or travelers up at the bar. Be sure to check out the upstairs dining area and get a table out on the balcony. The menu is classically French and has a good selection of cured meats, cheeses and imported meats. The wine selection is good and reasonably priced. Good place to chill and get away from the usual tourist places without leaving the old town.

“Lovely Wine and Cheese”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

We ate dinner on the upstairs balcony that overlooks the street. The service was exceptional. We split a bottle of wine, and shared several of the starters. The bruschetta with gorgonzola and ham, the goat cheese, the cheese with honey and mango and the fries. All were delicious. I would highly recommend if you grow tired of Vietnamese food, and want a taste from home!!
