We decided to have dinner here one evening while walking through gorgeous Hoi An. There are so many restaurants to choose from, it was hard to make a choice. We decided on this as the setting looking nice. We chose a table in the courtyard and a set menu dinner that was very reasonably priced. Overall, the atmosphere was lovely, the staff very attentive and the food delicious. We are happy to recommend this restaurant for travellers seeking a good balance of quality and atmosphere.

Best cocktail in Hoi An, the Miss Hanoi. I had eggplant green curry, my girlfriend had veggie bun noodles and the spices were perfectly balanced and flavours to die for! The setting is lovely with views over the river. The best bit was the staff, especially Nga who spoke perfect English and was very talented in recommending dishes off the menu. She is a very skilled waitress who is an asset to the restaurant. They should keep her forever! Thank you Nga for making our special meal even more special!

The Lantern Town Resturant was a very pleasant place to eat. The food was excellent! They had an excellent ranch of appetisers and main courses that were both delicious and well proportioned. The one thing that made me very happy with this place was the customer service. All waitresses seemed to be very nice and spoke english well but we had the most bubbly, happy, polite and kind waitress and her name was Nga! She was an absolute delight. With her being our waitress she added to the atmosphere of the place, she made you feel very welcome. She also didn't mind having a friendly conversation with you (which i like to have) whilst doing her duties swiftly and efficiently.

We had no planned destination for dinner on this evening and selected this restaurant because it appeared popular.
We sat outside in the court yard; very pleasant surroundings and far enough of the street to be quiet. The restaurant was busy, but despite this the service was quite good and the waitresses friendly and helpful with our enquiries.
There was a good selection of traditional Vietnamese food available from the menu. We decided to try dishes that we had not tried before and were not disappointed.
The food was very good, in fact possibly the best local cuisine we have tried.
Value for money; very good excluding alcohol, dinner was about $12USD per person.
A word of caution: we experienced problems when we requested to pay in USD. (many restaurants present their accounts in two currencies USD and Dong). The owner initially accepted USD, but at a lower exchange rate than the official rate. When questioned, he changed his mind and advised us that accepting USD was illegal. He offered to exchange our money with an official money exchange which we accepted. We still got a low rate and no receipt.
Summary
great food, good surroundings; good service, don’t be put off by our experience: just bring enough Dong.

Arrived and seated. Then it seemed they forgot about us as the table next to us got their drinks first. Then Nga arrived. Drinks, meal and food recommendations. Happy and helpful. Food was good, even came with veggies but have had better on our time in Hoi An.
