Mr Ba's is right next to our favourite, Mr Son's. This a long row of trestle tables, each owned by a different family. The food is brilliant and up to standard for any western traveller, from my mother in law to my 20 plus year old children through to my 3 year old grandson. These guys all support each others businesses and so when Mr Son was busy one night, Mr Ba and Mrs Hay cooked for us but made sure that we still remained Mr Sons customers. These are all wonderful people who give great service and deserve our support after the authorities relocated them from the town centre, purely because travellers were preferring to eat there than in the local restaurants. But even if you ignore the altruistic support of local family businesses, you'd be mad not to try their wonderful food. By far our favourite eating place in all of Vietnam.

This is not one restraunt but a series of family run tables and kitchens all housed together and under one thatched roof. This group was originally located on the river front further on from the markets but they did such a good trade and took business away from other restraunts that were paying licence fees, that the government moved them across the river. To find them, cross the river on the footbridge that is nearest the tiger. fish ect, lit up in the middle of the river. Once over the bridge turn left and walk about 150metres ( river is on your left). The road swings around to the right and as it does you will see this establishment. The night we were there we dined at Mr Ba's. They are trying hard to make ends meet since the forced move, not so much passing trade, so they take it in turns to host the customers, thereby all staying in business. It won't matter which table you sit at ,the food is unbelievable and so cheap. It's cooked fresh, right in front of you, in the open kitchens. Fresh beer is available too, at about 4000 dong per glass and if you havn't tried this wonderful stuff, do yourself a favour and have a go. Icy cold, it's exactly the right drink in the humidity ( or the rain or the cold or anytime really). Enjoy.
