“A WONDERFUL STAY”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Boutique Hoi An Resort is a wonderful way to experience the town of Hoi An (which is an amazing time itself). We liked that the resort was out of the town to get the best of both experiences and there are regular free shuttles between the resort and the town. The resort itself is amazing - we loved the beautiful big pool and the massages were unbelievable!

Good:
Location- right on the long golden beach, sunbeds by the beach and the pool, local (very good cheap) restaurants, for all those complaining about the hotel prices, walk the 30 yards across the road for good food and wine at a fraction of the price and friendly service. Also laundry, basic supplies and massage there. 10 minute bus ride into Hoi An which is absolutely charming, the hub is restaurants lining the river dripping in Chinese lanterns and floating candles
Clean, spacious, balcony, on the 4th floor which has a sea view
Free wifi
Delightful spa
Good breakfast, omelette station etc
Free shuttle bus into town. We found the times quite convenient as Hoi An shuts early anyway.
Large well kept pool

Not so good:
Found the Rooms and public areas, while tasteful, Quite austere, did not feel luxurious or charming
Wifi only works in the rooms, barely by the bar, not at all by the pool
Housekeeping misses a few things and the finishing in the rooms is a bit shabby in places, for instance the bedside light plug needed some coercion to make it work.
Gym basic, no sauna/steam room in the spa which I' d expect from a 5 star.

All in all a top location, on the beach and Hoi An is just magical at night with a wide choice of restaurants, the hotel is all very nice (that word) but felt quite pared back. with a bit more thought it could be lovely.

This hotel is ideal for a relaxing beach/pool break. The pool area is stunning and the private section of beach at the bottom of the pool (at most a 3 minute walk from any room via the pool) is really plush. A perfect place to watch the fisherman or fellow holiday makers enjoying a stroll. You can take a stroll in either direction along the coast from this hotel. We went right and it was 30 minutes each way passing other hotels with a similar set up to Boutique Hoi An Resort. All hotels along this stretch are well spaced out.

There is a local laundry just outside the hotel. A massage shop (ok not brilliant) and a couple of local restaurants but nothing else. The place to go is into Hoi An old town. The hotel provides several shuttle busses throughout the day. We hired scooters through the hotel so didn't use it but it seemed a regular and efficient service and the old town is about a 10 minute ride away.

We stayed in two different rooms here as we took a 3 day motorbike trip with Hoi An Motorbike Adventures in the middle so we checked out after 2 nights and the hotel kindly stored our bags securely for us while we were gone.

We were upgraded for our first 2 nights to a Boutique Deluxe Room. These were beautiful semi detached rooms directly facing the beach, only on ground level with a lovely terrace with patio set to enjoy the complimentary teas and coffees. Double sinks in the bathroom. These rooms are a 30 second walk from the pool, the spa and beach. The main building for reception, restaurant & breakfast is about a 4 ish minute walk. When we came back from our motorbike tour we were in a superior room and considering we had sampled the Deluxe Rooms didn't feel we wished we were back there as these room too were just lovely in their own rights. We were on the 3rd floor with a slight view of the pool and greenery from the very spacious terrace. Access is just off the reception building and breakfast is 1 minute away.

There were 5 of us staying in 3 rooms on this trip and we were all thrilled with the accommodation. One minor thing is that we all noticed that the pressure in the showers wasn't that great and that the hot water did run out after about 20 minutes and took about 20 minutes to heat up again. No bathtub in either room. Both rooms had large shower with gorgeous pots of shampoo, showergel and lotion.

3 of our group needed to book flights and the very efficient, friendly staff were able to book them for us in very quick time and we could pay them direct and they printed out anything we needed. If you don't fancy venturing out some nights we spent a night in the lobby bar which is extremely comfortable and we had a few icy cold beers and some european snacks (bruchetta, burger, soup - all nice).

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys days at the beach or by the pool. It is the ultimate place to relax.

Room Tip: All rooms appeared to be in a great location for one thing or another. The Deluxe and Villas are su...

Stayed here for three nights while travelling around Vietnam.

The good stuff:
Excellent staff. Were always on hand to help and were very keen to keep us happy. Gave us a nice introduction to he hotel upon check in.
Free wifi. All good hotels should offer free wifi (it is 2013 after all). Thankfully there is free wifi and good connectivity throughout the hotel.
Lovely pool (not heated) and beach - very clean and peaceful. The ground are also lovely, especally at night.
Excellent free shuttle service, at convenient times throughout the day.

What stops it from getting 5 stars?
The shower was disappointing. Although it looks good, the pressure was poor.
Each time the bathroom was used there was a very slight smell of sewerage. Plus the 'saloon door' design made privacy quite diificult - note if staying with friends.
Breakfast only OK, though the egg station is good.

Would definately recommend staying here. If you're feeling lazy and dont fancy going into town to eat, don't eat at the restaurant. Instead try Ha Nhi just over the road. Also Mi Casa nearby is also excellent, and the cheapest meal we had in Vietnam (turn left after leaving the hotel - 5 minute walk).

Room Tip: Instead of the expensive hotel laundry service, take it to the shop next door. They can do it for a...

We were only able to stay here one night, arriving late one evening, and leaving shortly after breakfast, so we were unable to make full use of the facilities (the somewhat small fitness centre; the large, but shallow swimming pool; spa; beach; shuttle bus to the old city).

The breakfast buffet had a good variety, and the staff friendly.

Our two rooms were large and comfortable, but unfortunately had a damp/musty smell. We were subsequently told via email from the GM:

"I am sorry for the musty smell in the room you occupied. Regretfully during winter time and the wet weather, it is hard to get rid of this odeur. (sic) During summer and the dry weather it is much better. We actually are airing the rooms out as much a possible. But again, I sincerely regret this inconvenience."

Perhaps we should come again in the dry weather and spend some more time at this hotel.

Stayed two nights as part of a tour package and loved it. The room was nicely decorated - the bed was huge! Everything you need is provided. The staff went out of their way to make us feel very welcome. The beach is a short walk out the back of the resort and was quite relaxing just to sit on the chairs provided and just ponder. Room service is very prompt and good meals. Phoned up for some milk and it was delivered immediately. Used the laundry service, which was relatively expensive but then found a laundry service across the road which was less than half the price and the owners were just lovely. Breakfast was very comprehensive with a good variety of eastern and western foods. This resort was certainly one of the best we used on our tour.

Wonderful hotel, a complete delight, above all praise!.

1.check in\check out

Simple and convenient, no reservation of funds for future spending (see review Sunrise Hoi An Beach Resort). The evening before the day of departure, the room is served envelope with bills for the accommodation and the services received at the hotel (spa, restaurant). There is time for check it out, to be prepared to pay.
2.The beach.
Stunning beach! Simply breathtaking! Wide, white sand, no rocks and debris, often come across a cute little shells. Endless beach on both sides, it is a pleasure to walk in the evening along the water's edge. Sun beds and umbrellas are placed freely, no tightness is felt. Sunbeds and umbrellas are always enough. Sun beds are very comfortable, there is a sitting position. Always on duty at the beach Life Guard, which monitors not only the safety in the water, but also helps to push the sun beds, look after the things on the beach and that there were always empty seats, all of this is so unobtrusive, that you did not notice.
3.The staff
The staff is very friendly and highly professional. All staff speak good English. At the reception the staff always helped us, even with unusual requests, such as book tickets on the train the day before departure, when almost all the seats are already sold out.
The staff have very elegant and stylish uniform.
4. Swimming pool
There is large and amazingly beautiful pool. The combination of light blue tiles inside and matte gray tiles on the border make the pool exceptional (maximum depth 1.5 m).
Nowhere is there a broken tile or other signs of dilapidation, in contrast to Sunrise Hoi An Beach Resort. There is ALWAYS Life Guard on duty near the pool. His main task is to monitor the safety of the water issue + towels and care, with sun beds and umbrellas, and other foreign affairs, he is not engaged. The pool has comfortable shower
disguised as a living tree, very gracefully. From the pool offers a magnificent view of the beach and the sea. Side of the pool is very comfortable, there is no danger of slipping. The pool was never cleaned during a visit, but always very early in the morning.
5. Towels near the pool and the beach, sometimes ending, but within 10 minutes they are appeared again and staff bring them to your loungers with apologies.
6.The hotel territory.
Lovely territory. From anywhere in the hotel offers wonderful view overlooking the pool, the beach and the sea. Track to the pool beach and the sea is made of stone, and around the green lawn, so that the overall impression is created that you walk on the grass. It also creates the impression that the hotel is very green and fresh.
In the architecture of the colonial style, it seems that you are living not in the hotel, but in your own house. Very nice (much better than in the pictures, even the hotel itself).
7. Interior and rooms
It looks better than the picture on the Internet. Some very interesting pictures are hanging in the room, and the design of the room is not boring. System storage (cabinets, tables) is very comfortable.
Size beds king size 2,0 * 2,0 m
The dining room floor is made of black and white squares, I was worried that it would cut the eye and begins to irritate over time, but nothing like this, on the contrary everything seemed very elegant, all in their places.
8. Breakfasts.
Breakfast is not very tasty and varied. But, whenever you come, no crowds, no noise. Quietly, you can select any table and breakfast in quiet air-conditioned room, not stuffy, like in Sunrise Hoi An Beach Resort (see review). Coffee and tea are brought instantly. On the table is always fresh cream.

9.The bus service runs to the city seven times a day for a very convenient schedule, we did not use taxis.
10. There is a free shuttle bus to and from airport, very convenient.

Summary: The hotel is very beautiful, elegant and comfortable, and it is felt in all of the rooms and the pool, to the atmosphere for breakfast and staff attitude. I wonder why this 4 * hotel, I would give all 5 *. Definitely would recommend to friends and will be back by myself.
