The Villa Hoa Sua is a lovely hotel in a lovely town.

Of the three hotels we stayed at in Hoi An--the Life Heritage Resort, the Ha An hotel, and the Villa Hoa Sua, the Villa Hoa Sua was by far our favorite. If we are ever in Vietnam again, we will make sure to head back to Hoi An and stay at the Villa Hoa Sua. This hotel is perfect for those who prefer quiet and beautiful surroundings.

This hotel stood out for its tasteful rooms with outdoor showers, top-notch personalized service, and beautiful grounds, which feature a traditional wood pavilion surrounded by a moat. We also liked its tucked away location, which is a short 3 km bike ride away from downtown Hoi An.

The rooms feature real queen beds, which are apparently a rarity in Vietnam as a lot of the other hotels we stayed at featured two beds pushed together. This was the case at the Ha An hotel, also in Hoi An. The backyard of the hotel features an outdoor shower and bathtub, in addition to a glass-enclosed shower inside. We enjoyed taking our showers outside, surrounded by greenery. We never used the bathtub, but suspect that there would not be enough hot water to fill it up. It would be nice to use for a private sunbath in the summer.

One of the best parts of the hotel is the excellent service provided by "Bond," the brother of the owner. He speaks good English, and his laid back and friendly attitude seemed like he has had a prior career as a concierge in 5-star hotel. He picked us up from our other hotel in Hoi An at no charge. When we left Hoi An, he arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the hotel and take us to the airport at below the marker price for foreigners. His sister also has a tailoring shop, Bong Duong, but he didn't push us to have clothes made there. It was only when we asked about the owner that he gave us their business card. We ended up visiting the shop in our own right and very happy with the clothes we had made and the friendliness of the employees. Bond also suggested a good neighborhood restaurant close to the hotel when we wanted a quick and tasty bite to eat close by.

We took our breakfasts in the open pavilion surrounded by a moat with goldfish. The hotel grounds mainly consist of the pavilion, moat, and pool, and evoke memories of Balinese hotels that I have stayed at.

The hotel is a bit out of the way from Hoi An's downtown, but we enjoyed our bike rides into the city. We were gorging ourselves at Hoi An's restaurants anyway so appreciated and look forward to the exercise. In addition, the hotel provides bikes that were nicer than the ones used at other hotels in Hoi An. The bikes have lights, so we were able to bike with ease at night when we would head into town for dinner.

Overall, we had a truly lovely experience. My recommendation is that visiters to Hoi An book a room here as soon as they know their dates. There are only five rooms and they fill up fast.

We stayed in this gorgeous little resort for two nights and found it such a peaceful escape from the urgency of Hanoi. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Bon who welcomed us and made us feel comfortable on our stay. Frangipani is in a great spot about 2km from town and the beach, and even for us over 50's not too far to experience the interesting pushbike ride. The staff were only too happy to call taxis to take us to town at night and the resort provided us with a map to show drivers where to go on the home journey as the villas are a little hard to find. The ambience of this lovely resort was really special. Our room was immaculate and interesting in design, and it was so quiet. Nice breakfast included and ready when you wake up at your leisure.

Well after getting a taxi through narrow alleys through farmland we were very worried but after walking through the gates of villa Hoa Su your jaw drops and you think how on earth do people find this place!! Everything is amazing with only 5 rooms BUT make sure you triple check your booking you might find yourself looking for other accomodation even when having confirmation.$US3 taxi ride to town or a bike ride in, a massive bonus is the free airpoirt pickup and drop off, its costs quite a bit.this place is certainly for couples or singles only.

In June 2010 my family travelled to Hoi An, Vietnam. We stayed at the Hoa Su boutique hotel. It is a beautiful place with pool, water garden with koi and water lilies, marble tubs and outdoor showers. And an outstanding cook. We took our lunches in town or at the beach and dinners at the hotel to enjoy the cook’s skill and the lovely and uniqe setting.

The hotel is quiet, away from town and a short walk will take you out into rice paddies for a visit with water buffalo etc. Hoi An is about a 15-20 minute bike ride away but calling a taxi is quick and they are cheap. Biking to the beach takes 10 -15 min. A lovely out of town location and experience. The owner also has a tailoring shop which did fast, good quality work for us that far surpassed our other tailored purchases. Even during a power outage!

This amazing place was suggested to us last November by friends who promised we would be impressed. They were not wrong.....we returned 6 months later for a longer stay. Hidden away from down town Hoi An, this beautiful location was the ideal place for a relaxing get away. Great rooms, beautiful landscaping with an amazing pool and the most sincere and wonderful service made a great week in Hoi An. There are 5 beautiful rooms which lead out to wonderful landscaped grounds. The food was unbelievable and had us all eating more then we should have. Well worth staying at. We will return!
