After reading reviews of this hotel, we were slightly disappointed once we arrived.

Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel surroundings are very pretty and relaxing but can see that the rooms now need a little TLC.

What was good:
Service, pool, breakfast and hotel surroundings (very pretty).

What was not so good:
No restaurant for Lunch / dinner, room is now tired (needs painted, window latches broken, lights broken, and not as clean as other hotels we experienced in Vietnam). Also room was never serviced during the stay.

If you are looking for a quiet hotel away from the old town (city center) in Hoi An, this is an excellent option (if you overlook the above).

Bond helped us to rent a scooter for USD7 per day. Cycling into town was a 20 min ride.

Staying at the Villa Hoa Su Frangipani was the high light of our visit to Vietnam. After the hustle bustle of Hanoi to arrive at a place that was calm, beautiful, intimate and quiet was a joy. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and the buildings and grounds more beautiful. I particulary loved the small but beautifully landscaped garden, that surrounded the central pavillion where we ate and relaxed. A fish filled water garden with water lillies and lotus flowers edged with ferns and palms enclosed the pavillion on four sides, with the pool ajoining. The attention to detail used in the buildings and decor was also impressive, with intricately carved lintels, old lamps, stone paving and large ceramic vessels creating a harmonious environment.Located perfectly-half way between the beach and the old town of HoiAn, you could jump on one of the hotels bicycles or catch a taxi to see the sights, swim at the beach, go shopping and eat out. But if you did not feel like going anywhere, the staff would prepare a meal for you- given notice so that the ingredients could be purchased fresh from the market- of HoiAn specialities which were delicious. Apart from the odd quirk (which you would expect in Vietnam) the mysterious light that came on in the interior of the cupboard during the night and then would not go off again, our stay was perfect, right down to the free airport transfer. I cant wait to go back!

I stayed here for 3 nights with my girlfriend and had only one complaint. The foam mattresses aren't the most comfy things in the world. Other than that, it was great. Really good location away from town so it's really quiet but still a cheap can ride. The cooking class was brilliant. We did 3 dishes all of which are Hoi An specialties. The breakfast was very decent and the pool is amazing. Leaning over the edge and seeing the fishes swimming in the adjoining pond was something quite different.
All in all, a good little hotel at a very good price.

Our daughter (working in HCMC) found this wonderful place, and we met up there with her and her partner following our first week in the North of Vietnam. I think it is one of the most stunning places we have ever stayed in. There are only five main rooms (plus another two tucked away, we understand), each with aircon, TV and safe. As well as ensuite shower and loo, each room has a little private courtyard with bath and shower for those who enjoy alfresco ablutions! Very pleasant pool (5' deep, perfect for lounging around in), decorative fishponds, central pavilion for breakfast (and more lounging about). Drinks and occasional snacks available although no evening meal, but the taxis all seem to know where it is and will get you to the eastern edge of the old town (3km away) in ten minutes. The hotel provides bikes for clients to use: we took advantage and enjoyed getting lost among the hamlets and paddy-fields a few minutes away. Our few days were pure heaven and we could gladly have stayed longer.

We wanted our Vietnam trip to be a budget friendly and economic holiday; as we had not booked nor planned anything beyond our first 2 nights, we thought we would splurge and book this villa for 3 nights in Hoi An - wow! For a discounted special price, we couldn't be happier, my husband says its the most stunning place he's been to - ever.
For only 5 villas in this family owned complex, we were only 1 of 2 that were booked at the same time - the other couple we hardly saw so effectively we had our own private property.
Breakfast is served to order at whatever time we woke up, we used their bikes to ride to the beach - about 15 mins ride, the owners didn't hound us- more like guests in their own home.

We asked to stay an extra night as we were enjoying it so much and this was no problem.

The outdoor bathroom is a highlight.... Great for cold showers in the heat of Hoi An, recommended as the pool is like a warm bath!!

Taxi ride into town costs no more than 55,000 dong or $3.50 each way and takes 5 mins.
Only downsides (and these are negligible) are hard bed (but king size) and Ms. Tu will try to get you to go to her tailor shop in town...... The one of thousands!

Overall, will most definitely recommend this lovely oasis to anyone visiting Hoi An.

I am not sure what heaven is but this just might be it. Small, only 5 units, and very peaceful. Beautiful pool and cabana and lovely pavilliion set in the midst of coi ponds and lilly pads where you can enjoy delicious breakfast. We booked 2 rooms for the three of us. The rooms are smartly designed and the outdoor shower and bath tub bring a wonderful new dimesion to a relaxing vacation. Located perfectly between Old Town and the beach in a largely residential neighborhood the Villa is an easy bike ride (I am 60) to the beach. And, oh, what a beach! If you ride to the beach be sure to turn left when you get to the shore and ride down a short way to the seafood shacks that dot the beach. There you can get a free chaise under a thatched umbrella for the price of a Tiger beer. Be sure to eat lunch on the beach, it is fantastic. At the Villa, Ms Tu (not sure of spelling) is very attentive to any need. Not hovering, but there when you need her. A short, cheap cab ride to old town, don't miss out on the charms of Hoi An. This was our favorite place in nearly a month of hotels and we stayed a full week.

Room Tip: All 5 rooms are the same.
