“Beautiful hotel, zero service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014 via mobile

We stay at this hotel for four nights in January 2014 and we were really disappointed in our choice. The hotel grounds are lovely and the beach setting is quite charming, but that is where the positives stop!

The food and beverage quality and service were shockingly low!! We returned our first cocktails, as they were not drinkable (and stuck to Tiger beer after that) - the bar staff do not appear to trained in any way - and I'd forgive a lot for a good cocktail. We spent a day laying by the pool and every time we wanted a drink, we had to go to bar. No staff offered us a drink or even walked passed us (or collected our old glasses)!

However, there appeared to be an abundance of staff at the hotel - although often in casual clothes and standing around doing nothing. At one point there were six guys standing around the life guard station having a good old chat and one of them put music on his phone on speaker, so they could listen. Not exactly the tranquil setting we imagined. The pool towels were also thread bare and shabby - they ran out of towels on multiple occasions.

The breakfast was pitiful, they ran out of everything, from tea cups to bread. The toaster didn't work and the Egg Man was terrible - scrambled eggs consisted of two eggs cracked into a pan and swished about with a fork. There was no cutlery on the table, no salt and pepper, or any other amenity you would expect at a four star resort.

The house keeping was also poor, I was walked in on in the shower TWICE! I was mortified! The first time, I opened my eyes to see the cleaner staring at me, then she turned around and started to clean! When I jumped out of the shower to tell her it was not a good time, she looked really annoyed and literally just dropped the bundle if towels she was carrying onto the floor and stormed out!

Overall, the room was nice (although the foam mattress was like sleeping on concrete) and our private pool was freezing but very clean and inviting. It seemed like they were putting in a lot of effort to tidy up the place, with lots of painting happening while we were there...but they really need to focus on their service and staff. With some proper management, the hotel could be quite lovely. Until then, I would NOT recommend this hotel.

Because of the huge number of guests in this high season,we did not avoid to make some minor negligence. We sincerely apologize to you and hope that we will get another chance to give you our best service in the next time .

This was the first 4-star place we picked on our trip and it was a mixed experience.

The property is very nice, well landscaped and well maintained. The rooms are big and spacious and overall well done. The rooms however have questionable design, especially the bathrooms. There is a shower in the toilet - the toilet is literally Half a meter from the shower so if you have a shower the whole toilet gets wet with moisture and water. There is no shelf to place your toiletries and there are no hooks to hang the towels.

The service is sub par. We already curbed our expectations so that we didnt expect a 5-star experience in a 4-star place, but they don't have simple stuff right, like labelling the buffet items at breakfast and having ice available at all times.

I think better staff and some attention to detail and this could easily be a 5-star place. It was close to hoi an and took about 10 mins in a cab to go to hoi an.

Stayed in a beach front pool villa for four nights and really enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly and as it was before Christmas it was very quiet. Easy to get the shuttle into town and then cab back. Overall very good value for money

We normally stay at Palm Garden, but stayed at Le Belhamy as everything else was book out. I went with my husband and parents (who are in their early 60s).

Excellent location - very close to Hoi An town and lovely beach.

2 bedroom beach front room was very nice. Very spacious and wonderful balcony and private pool area. Bathroom and linen very nice - beautiful. Disappointments - there was no kitchenette (which is strange for a 2 bedroom family room), and no door on the main bathroom. Only a couple of channels on the TV worked, WIFI did not work. Beds were like sleeping on concrete.

The restaurant really let's this place down. Room service menu very limited. Food always cold when we got it. Breakfast average. Menus extremely tattered and need replacing desperately.

Staff at reception and restaurant did not appear to be well-trained. Very limited English, and not good enough for tourist 4 star establishment. Buggy porters very hospitable though.

You only get one key for your room (which makes it very difficult for groups). I tried to get a second key when I couldn't get into my room, and even after four phone calls, reception still couldn't manage this.

If you're after a complete resort experience, this place is not for you. The place needs updating and staff need training. Falls short on many accounts. Wouldn't stay here again.

Room Tip: Beach front well worth it.

We're staying at this 4 star hotel at the end December. The pools are freezing and the grounds look sleepy. They can't help that. There are lots of kids running around and that's fine...Plus they've had a tough season with all the typhoons. However, here's where they can make a difference. The breakfast is weak at best (limited fruits, no yogurts and eggs made with way too much grease...) and the beds are rock hard. Foam mattresses are fine but these are just too hard to be comfortable. The pillows are huge and lumpy and impossible to sleep on. I asked the front desk for an alternate pillow and received an even lumpier one. Our blow dryer is broken ..we called the front desk over 90 minutes ago and still haven't received a new one.
This is supposed to be a luxury resort but I'm not sure I can agree with the luxury assessment. The access to the beach is lovely and the pools are pretty...hopefully they'll solve some of these basic issues.

To be fair the rooms were okay, but the restaurant and bar area were something to be desired. Dirty, tired and the breakfast was very, very poor! The whole resort was tired, the cleaning staff all wore everyday clothes and were not to the standard we had so far been accustomed to. On a positive we ate right outside the hotel at the three local restaurants and had a fab, fab night. If these had not been there goodness knows where we would have eaten. The brochures and web site bear no reflection on this tired resort.

Room Tip: don't bother

We stayed at another beach resort for only a little extra which was far superior. Sadly we had to move here as it was booked up. It's been a huge downgrade while only saving a little money. The room is not clean there's bird poo on the lampshade and the electrics are faulty. They even have a teaspoon jammed in one of the light switches! The staff are rude and unfriendly. We have just been accused of not having breakfast vouchers and being questioned on what room we're in after handing them into another member of staff. Breakfast is beyond basic and they cant even cook eggs. The shower leaks everywhere. The bed is hard and uncomfortable. The safe does not work. We were woken this morning by the gardeners talking outside our room for an hour instead of actually doing their work. The list really is endless do not stay here.
