Love it, love it, love it. We visited this amazing restaurant on a ride back from Cu Dai beach. What a find! It is in an idyllic setting, perched over the river and it is so relaxing sitting back enjoying the scenery and the serenity.
We ordered everything from the specialties section and were not disappointed by any of the dishes. The crispy spring rolls had a lovely shredded coating and were by far the best we ate in Vietnam. The waitress was extremely friendly and even demonstrated what to do with the crispy wanton (and then proceeded to feed my friend!)
The drinks came out in the most unusual jars and the fresh juices were delicious.
Mr Tan came over and spoke to us and is obviously proud of his restaurant.
Yhis one should not be missed in a visit to Hoi An.

We visited this restaurant for a special birthday dinner for one of our party and were delighted with the food and service provided. We were recommended to come here by a friend and told to try the duck a l'orange. Did so, and it was absolutely beautiful. Every other dish was excellent as well. Service was friendly and attentive. Other reviewers have had issues with slow service, but we didn't have this problem. Our birthday girl was presented with a cake from the staff with her name written on it, and they all sang happy birthday to her. She thought she was the queen! All in all, a great night out. Highly recommended for the food and location.

This restaurant is so gorgeous and authentic with such a relaxed beach hut type vibe. It's on stilts on the river and you can watch the fish swim below you as you eat (if you get the right table).

The service is really prompt and friendly, we were given advice on how to eat the foods and also Vietnamese tips.

The food was delicious, I would defiantly recommend this restaurant!! Cheap cocktails too!

Nice location and cosy atmosphere. Though the music was a bit too loud and not very appropriate with the place. Food was good, I had the Pho Bo and some nem. Main issue is that I found a RUBBER BAND in my soup! The waiter just said sorry and left, this is not very professional. Even in the small street food thingy you don't find plastic in your soup and in this case, i suppose you can expect some gesture from the staff.

A beautiful river setting, a man committed to the highest quality of ingredients, a team devoted to making people happy: this is what Son Hoian is about.

We had a beautiful dinner filled with gentle flavors of Vietnam. Old recipes of Mr. Thans family. The team provides fantabulous service with a smile but remember... SLOW FOOD. So please dont expect to be served immediately. Things are wrapped, rolled and cooked only after you order. I can attest to this myself as I held a cooking session with them and this is exactly what we did. The place may be relocated by government before March 2013 so please go and visit this place ASAP.
