If you are someone who appreciates staying closer to the beach area, away from tons of cars and all other tourists, and appreciate close personal interaction with a warm-hearted owner who loves to make you feel welcome and goes the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable as possible - you should look into staying at An Bang Stilt Villa.
Kim (owner) started up 6 months ago and is still tweaking to make things even better. She is eager and despite experienced from the hotel industry, curious and open to make this work. She has started off really well!
I really got to appreciate Kim during my 4 day stay. She is genuine, open-minded, warm and real - something that makes this place even better. Kim and her mother also happen to be great cooks!
My room: Family Suite (4 days) - ground floor (Villa has 3 floors)
Since I had the opportunity to look at all rooms, I personally like #104 the best (2nd floor). All rooms differ from each other. The dorm (4 beds) is great as well (lots of storage space!), and VERY GOOD VALUE for the money !
Taxi Service to/from Da Nang Airport (250k) - good value - use it!
Lots of storage space
Free tasty home cooked breakfast (choose from a menu) - VERY good coffee from Da Lat.
Daily set menu for lunch or dinner (you do not have to leave the place if you do not want to)
Free filtered water in the reception area (ground floor) - fill up your water bottle
Away from traffic /and buzz
Lots of different lamps in the room (bedside/ceiling/walls) - nice light!
Fan + Aircon in room
Close to the beach (7 min walk) - very nice beach by the way (quiet/pretty clean)
Free Shampoo, Soap (Dove/Palmolive)
Beach towels to borrow
Fridge & Kettle in room
Value for money
Queen mattress not of the best quality (kind of sinks in the middle). Double mattress was more comfortable. (my daughter, however, liked the queen mattress ;)
No shower cabin in the bathroom, so the whole floor is all wet after you are done, maybe even flooded...
10min from Old Town (will add up with taxi) *
* download GRAB (Vietnams Uber)
KEEP IN MIND
Not suitable for party people or people who have difficulties respecting others in a shared space. Walls are not super thin, but this is an intimate living arrangement and people who choose to stay here do that for a reason; mainly wanting peace and quiet, being more intimate and maybe even personal but not wish to hear what others are talking about (read: not suitable for people who yell when they talk...)
