The owner of this restaurant Madam Ly has 5-6 more restaurants in town and as far as I know this is the most fancy one with excellent atmosphere. Herbs are freshly picked, all the rice specialities, pastes, even some oils are in house made, she runs almost a food factory and almost 1000 people in town work for her. She had reengineered local recipes over the years, trained so many stuff/cooks, writing even an English cook book, giving cooking classes to foreigners. She is a fenomen in town and her signature restaurant worths a visit. The salads are very good, I loved also the coconut and sago desert. I can understand that Vietnamese cuisine is complex and requires hard work and devotion and continious growth and opening new restaurants and all not easy but stuff seemed to be so tired and even I must say in some bad mood to me. I can imagine that they work 12-14 hours a day during high season with only 2 days off per month which makes me felt bad. Viatnemese people are hard working, energetic and honest, should deserve more time to rest and spend with family.

A very busy restaurant and you need to book in advance. The service is friendly and speedy. The food is excellent and adjusted to western palates which we liked. It's a really nice place and we couldn't fault it.

If it's true that Hoi An is the gastronomic capital of Vietnam, then this must be the capital building. The food is amazing. Try the pomelo salad, a masterpiece!
