Was on a cruise which stopped in Hoi An. This restaurant was recommended by friends. Worth every minute to find it, walking the streets, ambling along as a tourist and lunch which was just heaven. Cannot understand how the real Vietnamese food can taste sooooo fabulous only in their kitchens and country. I am a real foodie and nothing has ever come close to this Vietnamese culinary delight. Does not matter what you order, everything is brilliant.

Having read other traveller's reviews, we decided to try this restaurant this evening. We were not disappointed 1 We started with a couple of glasses of Australian chardonnay at 90,000VND per glass and continued with starters: crispy pancakes and sugar cane shrimp to be followed by main courses of grilled aubergine with minced pork and squid stuffed with shrimps and minced pork. The starters and the main courses were all excellent and the best Vietnamese home cooking we have found in our current two week visit to Vietnam or in two previous visits to thi scountry. we finished off with a delicious creme caramel and a tropical fruit salad with coconut milk. The total bill for this feast came to a modest VND733,ooo or about USD36 for two.
If we were not leaving for Hanoi tomorrow we would be heading for Morning Glory again to try some more of their interesting dishes.
They do take Mastercard / Visa and no VAT or service charge is added to the prices in the menu.

This has to be the best place to eat in Hoi an. The food is delicious and authentically Vietnamese, the atmosphere is great, the staff are attentive and the price is right. What more is there to say!

This restaurant always had queues outside and the staff seemed rushed off their feet. It looked like chaos.BUT...appearances can be deceptive and if it was a little chaotic it was organised chaos!
The main thing is you have to book if you want to have dinner there. If yiou are a couple, try to get a seat on the balcony.
Although it was always busy, unbelievably the staff did not rush you. And when it came, the food was excellent. Really unusual dishes, full of flavour and feeling very healthy. Try some of the hot drinks (old remedies for common ailments like sore throat, cough etc), they really seem to work.
The biggest surprise of our evening was the bill. We couldn't believe how cheap our meal had been. Given that many of the restaurants in Hoi An are overpriced, it is good to see some honest pricing going on.

We were very excited about dining at Morning Glory but unfortunately it didn't live up to our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, but we were pretty much ignored by the staff. Certainly, it was busy, but the food next door at Family restaurant was just as good with amazing service. There are just too many good places here to let standards slip.
