We stayed for two nights in one of the two "hotel" rooms on the property. The guesthouse has 2 rooms and 4 bungalows. Upon entering the gate of the grounds you are received in an open pavilion with a pond where you are checked in. You are then escorted through the beautiful compact grounds to your room. The room was beautifully decorated in an Asian style with french doors that opened onto small balconies on two sides. My only quibble is that (at least in the hotel rooms), the shower is not separated from the rest of the bathroom (it's actually in the middle of the bathroom) and the water pressure could have been better. Aside from that, the room, grounds, facilities and pool were all very nice.

Breakfast is included and is cooked to order in their open kitchen and patio area every morning. Bicycles are available for guests to use and it is a short bike ride to either the beach or old Hoi An town. (Just be careful of the traffic and the heat)

What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is their efficient and personal service. Staff were all friendly and they made arrangements for us to visit My Son (Cham ruin site) and booked our bus travel to Hue. As mentioned in some of the other reviews, the hotel even hosted a wonderful home cooked dinner for all of the guests one night.

Hoi An is a beautiful town and I would highly recommend the Orchid Garden Homestay as a base to explore it from.

Recently stayed at this lovely homestay and thought it was great. About 2km from the town or the beach in either direction we found it an easy ride on the complimentary bikes. The staff were all very pleasant and would gladly recommend this stay to family and friends visiting Hoi An.

We had to split our stay between 2 rooms as we decided to extend our 4 days to 5 quite late. The first double room was clean with a lovely outlook over the pool. Although water pressure and temperature of the shower was inconsistent. Second room downstairs slept 3 and had a private courtyard. The staff quickly fixed the backdoor which wasn't locking properly.

They pool was beautiful and a welcome relief after a days shopping and sight seeing. We too were pleased with the complimentary evening meal that we had on one night of our stay. However this only happens every 5 days or so, so we were glad we got to sample the home cooking.

On a couple of mornings we were not out of our room until after 10am and the housekeeing staff eagerly waited outside our room for us to leave, which although attentive was a little off puttting.

Otherwise we were very impressed with this accomodation. Great price, good location and lovely staff.

The Orchid Garden is a lovely property w/ beautiful gardens, handsome rooms, and a pool. It's about a 15-minute walk to the City, but they provide bicycles to guest free of charge. Breakfast is included and one night, they made a complimentary, several-course, exquisite meal for all the guests, wine included.

The staff was uniformly friendly, helpful, and resourceful. An incredibly wonderful experience for such little cost.

2km from Old Town and 2km from beach by push bike. Lovely location and lovely staff. Very helpful on all aspects of the stay. Turn left to get to Son Restaurant on the river for lovely lunch above the water. Turn right to the Old Town. Go straight across the road and down a side street to reach the river for a peaceful ride to the Old Town. Bebe or Yaly for clothes. Try Vy Vy shop 1 in the clothe market for great service and al the fabric choices you want. Cargo is excellent as a restaurant and the street vendors do a great meal as well.
Pack sun protection and wear a hat!

Orchid Garden Homestay was perfect. A small, family-run complex comprising a handful of bungalows, a great pool, friendly service and wonderful food. The bungalows are very spacious, clean and bright, with airconditioning in living room and bedroom. Staff went out of their way to accommodare our children. Price included breakfast - a broad range all cooked fresh. Bicycles were available free of charge - and were in good condition. On our last night we and the other guests (4 at the time) were treated to a complimentary dinner of local delicacies and local wine - absolutely fantastic. The outdoor bathroom may be a challenge for non-nature lovers (at the sight of a multitude of mosquities I had record-quick showers, and was not too pleased to find a cricket on my toothbrush) but was still lovely. We would stay here again and again - highly recommended for all, but especially families.

Located at a handy distance between the beach and Hoi An's central main shopping/restaurant area. 5- 10 minutes walk away.
Very clean, quiet, beautiful property with large stand alone bungalows, helpful staff and owners with great breakfasts and an amazing dinner with the other tourists on the last night. Nice pool to cool down in. we stayed 4 nights and could not fault at all...thought we had no toilet paper upon arrival, to our embarrassment found it was in the next room in a lovely toilet roll container! :)

After staying in a lot of stuffy hotels throughout Vietnam I was reeeally looking forward to our stay at Orchid Garden which looked like a little oasis. Our stay there ended up being a little frustrating though, I think a lot of it could have been fixed by some communication to guests prior to their stay.

Liked:
- Rooms - large, airy & clean
- Pool - excellent to escape from the heat
- Food - lovely food cooked to order by the staff
- Girls on reception - so nice & helpful (when they were there)
- Free use of bikes

Disliked:
- Location - although not far from town (over 2km) if you have to go in and out of the centre of town often it can take its toll. On one day we probably rode over 12km in over 30 degree heat (+ 10000% humidity! :P). Sometimes if you are using the tailors they require you to have multiple fittings throughout the day. Add to that the fact that if it is hot weather, no one is to be seen in town during the peak of the heat. If that is the case you might like to go back to your hotel to have a siesta in the aircon before making your way back out into the heat - this brings me to the next point;
- Power outages - there seemed to be heaps of power outages. They seemed to occur mainly midday (11.30 - 2.30) and at first we were told that all hoi an had power outages during the day to preserve power. Understandable for a residential house but if you have paying guests surely you would provide a generator? We were a little flustered because it seemed other places still had power and we were not told about these power outages until we were covered in sweat and the aircon would not work. No aircon at 1pm in peak heat is not great.
- Shower/water - during the power outages the showers did not work, I did not know this (or that there would be an outage) and was covered in soap when the water stopped.
- Toiletries - toiletries were not replenished during our stay. No new soap did not worry me, it was when the toilet paper ran out that I was a bit upset - specially as we did not have a full roll from the start of our stay.

I don't want to sound like a whinger - and I am sure in better weather the stay would have been so much more pleasant, however so many little things occurred all at once that at one stage we started to pack our bags to find a different place to stay (but it was too hot and we gave up.. ) To sum the above up on one day we arrived after riding 8km in blazing heat, looking forward to a cool nap only to end up walking around covered in soap, no aircon, no power, no water, no toilet paper and no-one to be found to answer our questions. I have never been a demanding traveller but after a few days of this our patience wore a little thin.

Despite this Hoi An is incredible and everyone should stay there for at least 4 days!
