We were told this was the best in Hoi An with great views of the old town. We booked an upstairs table, but were given a downstairs one with views of the side of tourist coaches. The service was perfunctory at best, price was three times other meals and food not as good. Trading on its reputation which won't last. And I got food poisoning. Lesson - eat in old town where there are some great restaurants.

For a western priced restaurant you expect watering mouth and remember the meal for at least a day. Did not happen for me at Mango Mango. Extremely high priced, but not the value. Nice seating though, across the Japanese bridge.

I have just returned from a holiday in Vietnam and I wanted to share our experience when we visited this fantastic restaurant in Hoi An. It was recommended by an Australian living in Hoi An and she warned us before we went saying it was going to be expensive. She was right however the cost was insignificant to the actual quality of the food. My friends both ordered the duck dish which they raved about and I ordered the fish which was roasted and encrusted with slivered nuts and so delivious. There was a salad and vegetables included. We added to this a cocktails and some Chile wine - delicious. The view from the front of the restaurant is beautiful - over looking the water and the old Hoi An township. Really something you do if you are not trying to stick to a budget. The meal cost each of us around A$35 - which is cheap for an Australian meal but really on the high end for Hoi An where you can eat out for around A$2.00 ! Despite this I will certainly go back - worth every cent and highly recommend you go here if you want a special night out in Hoi An.

We were taken to this restaurant for dinner by our tour guide and were really impressed. The food was superb and the whole experience of watching it being prepared, fascinating. The kitchen is abuzz with activity the whole time. The view overlooking the Japanese Bridge and beyond was lovely. Would have to be the best restaurant in Vietnam?? Oh yes, the wine list was limited so if you have a chance to BYO, do so.
