“Great downtown hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

Granted, it is not located at the very center of Hoi An, but almost. Within 7min, you can be at the Japanese bridge or right at tailor central. The room was large, clean, and actually had a shower cabin (the first I had in Vietnam). There is a pot of green tea included each day, the breakfast is buffet style and very good (Western and Vietnamese food), and a small pool is also available on the roof. We could relax quite well here, even though the beds are a little on the hard side (yes, even for vietnamese standards).

We chose VH3 because of the pool, location, and reasonable price relative to the rest of Hoi An. There were cheaper hotels but the pool tipped it for us.

We walked to the hotel from the bus station that we were dropped off at, taking us around 10 minutes. The hotel's location was great, close to all the shops and restaurants.

We stayed three nights and had a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly. The hotel was very clean. Nice rooms and bathroom. The housekeeping staff were never seen, but in a good way... they cleaned our room every day without ever been seen. We slept in late most most days and we had the do not disturb sign on the door which was taken notice of. We were never disturbed (unlike another recent hotel we stayed at).

The room was spacious. Unfortunately our ''window'' just opened to a brick wall so it wasn't really much of a window. The bed was nice and large, it seemed a little firm at first, but we both slept great the whole stay. The room lacked a hair-dryer which you may expect at a hotel charging slightly higher prices.

The rooftop pool was a nice addition, although there wasn't a whole lot of sun-loungers (due to limited space). The first time we went up there, there was only two left in the shade... but on the whole its a great way to relax.

Rating 4 out of 5 as we had a nice stay, but there was nothing extra-amazing to exceed our expectations to make it excellent. A later breakfast would have been good as we slept in past the 10am deadline.

We stayed at Vinh Hung for 3 days and the hotel has been recently refurbished, therefore all of the rooms and the hotel is really nice and clean. Rooms are of a good size (not small). Staff is incredible, since they treat you very good all the time. Staff surpassed our expectations since they received us at 1am with a smile, and said good bye with a smile at 5am. Also, even though that we left at 5am they have prepared us breakfast to go! We used the hotel transport since the airport is 1hr drive and worked perfectly. Breakfast is good at the hotel. They booked for us a tour to My Son and was also great. Totally would return to the hotel if I will go back to Hoi An. 15 min walk to the city center, and 1 min walk for several restaurants, massage centers, stores, etc. They only thing is that they do not have an elevator (but it is only 4/5 floors).

Stayed at the Vin Hung 3 with my partner and 4 children. They loved it and so did we. We were made to feel so welcome everytime we walked into the hotel, even from just a shopping trip. The rooms were big, breakfast has a small choice but is always fresh.

The best thing about the hotel is its staff. Nothing was a problem and they always chatted to the kids and ourselves all the time. They even rang another hotel for us that was having a seafood buffett on the Saturday nite to find out how much it was for us.

Pool on the rood was the kids favourite and they spent plenty of afternoons in it after wandering the streets or rinding bikes to the beach.

Seriously, this is a small 3 star hotel that doesn't have all the bells and whistles, however the best recommendation that I can give this place is I will stay there next time. If you want big clean rooms, friendly staff, a pool and be centrally located in Hoi An so you can walk easily to the river and old town, I recommend the Vin Hung 3.

Room Tip: We stayed in the deluxe rooms as they accommodated 3 people easily and they were at the back of the...

My wife and I recently spent 4 nights at the Vinh Hung 3 Hotel.

Our stay was most enjoyable, thanks largely to the lovely staff who were very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Pros:

- The hotel was well located, close to many restaurants and an easy 5-10 minute walk to the river and Ancient part of town
- As mentioned above the staff were fabulous, always greeting us with a smile and "good morning", "good evening" etc. I'm sorry I cannot remember all the staff names but a special mention to Emily, Meekay & Andy at reception. Congratulations on the professional way you run the hotel - it is a credit to you and everyone else involved.

We were also given a welcome drink on arrival and two bottles of water as we checked out which was much appreciated. Two chocolates were also left on our bed each day - a nice touch!
- good, filling breakfast (tasty spring rolls, egg station, baguettes, juices, jam, toast, fruit, tea and coffee) in spacious dining area on the ground floor.
- pool on the 4th floor which was very refreshing after a hot days sight seeing.
- Clean, good sized room, with comfortable (albeit firmish) beds, and most effective aircon
- enclosed shower with good hot water.
- Free in room computer worked well
- relatively quiet location

Cons

- The building does not have a lift. Our room was on the 4th floor which certainly tested the legs.
- The room we were in (049) didn't have a balcony, unlike many of the other rooms
- It would have been nice to have curtains on a couple of the small bare windows to provide better privacy and keep the room darker in the mornings
- No complimentary bottled water provided each day
- had trouble getting WIFI reception in room, but in room computer made up for this

Transfer from the hotel to the airport was arranged through the hotel and cost 330,000 VND

We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone else, and hope to make it back ourselves one day.

Tip: You gotta try the "Fresh" beer served at several of the restaurants in Hoi An. It is cold and a good drop and at 3000VND ($AU0.14) a pot it doesn't come in better

Room Tip: A room on the second floor, midway between the ground and pool area would probably be a good choice.

We had a cozy triple room with a small balcony. Computer in the room, which was great. Rain head shower in the bathroom, all very clean. The old town was only a 10-minute walk away but there were nice bars and restaurants right across the street. It was great to cool off in the pool after a day of sightseeing. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was good with fruit and eggs made to order.

This was our second time we stayed here within 18months. To our surprise the reception remembered us from our last stay. The staff are very accomodating and friendly. We once again thouroughly enjoyed our stay with clean rooms, close proximity to the town centre and more than reasonable tarrif. We are well travelled and this Hotel would be one that we would highly recommend for a familyor any traveller that wanted good value for their money with a high level of service.
