“Excellent value, great hotel!”
Reviewed March 20, 2011

We stayed three nights at this very charming hotel. The room was big, nothing fancy, but we had a nice balcony and comfortable beds. The bathroom seemed pretty old...
The breakfast was very good, we could chose from the menu and we always got a big fruit plate each morning. The hotel is not in the city centre but it was a only 5 min. walk to the old town. There were two good computers with fast internet in the lobby.
On departure we were each given a small present which was sweet and unexpected.
Overall this is a very nice hotel with friendly staff and good value for money.

This guesthouse deserves its number 1 status! In 5 months of travelling we have not received such genuine warmth from guesthouse staff, the staff really make this hotel and Madam Am is also very attentive. We stayed on the grouns floor and the room did not have a window but taking everything into account this did not matter. The room was very clean and well furnished. There were little thoughtful touches such as the welcome tea and coconut macaroon to the gift when leaving. The room had a TV, AC, and all the mod cons, including complimentary sewing kits, combs etc. The room smelt and was very clean and quiet. The staff had left us a flask of hot water to make our own tea in the room, also thoughtfully provided! The bathroom had a bath, shower, and toiletries. The breakfast was amazing! Madam Am said in the morning to pick whatever we wanted off the breakfasst menu and to kepp ordering until we were full. The breakfast menu runs on for 4 or 5 pages - its huge! We ordered a pate sandwich, french fries, a huge platter of seasonal fruit, banana pancake with chocolate, lemon juice, orange juice and coffee!! As you can tell, we ate till we were fit to burst! On backpackers budgets this was much appreciated. TIP - Eat breakfast on the balcony overlooking the pagoda, its lovely! All in all a fantastic experience and i wish we had stayed longer.

Oh and quick internet in room too!

If you are looking for a tailor, look for nana's near the market, its a small tailors who put no pressure on you and made us some excellent clothes!!

We don't understand why this place is ranked #1 of b&bs on tripadvisor. We booked on the back of the rating and arrived to a good reception but were soon disappointed to be given a dark ground floor room with 'window' into a shaft smelling strongly of damp/mould. Fortunately we were able to be moved to another room, but although at least there was plenty of light and double aspect windows, there was still a persistent drain smell throughout our stay.

The decor is seriously dated as are the fittings, there were no top sheets on the beds- with the exectation of simply pulling a blanket over the top. When we asked for sheets, there was only 1 spare with apparently no spares available in the hotel! There was a constant intermittent whirring which sounded like a pump throughout the day and night requiring earplugs to sleep. The main room lighting is by bare fluorescent tube.

The staff are very friendly and helpful with good english generally. The quality of the food was good although in order for our omlettes not to arrive floating in oil, we had to ask specially!!

All in all, for $22 per night, I think you can do a lot better....

We arrived in Hoi An from Hanoi on a much delayed flight. We were met from the Airport and driven to the hotel. On arrival the staff were incredibly welcoming and the place was spotless. Madam An comminucated with us via email in excellent english and ensured that during our stay we had absolutly everything we needed (even including strepsils and ginnger tea with honey as my wife was under the weather). The staff helped us with travel and local tips and booked reservations for us without any pressure whatsoever which was such a refershing change! The rooms are spotless and the rest of the hotel also. It overlooks a temple which can be seen from the balcony where you have the included breakfast!

I would certainly recommed this place for anyone who wants to relax and explore Hoi An!!

Arrival was a warm welcome with tea and cake, staff were lovely and a good sense of humour.
Room was full of bits and bobs but thoughtful. Rooms a bit noisy due to half glass doors and difficult to close windows. A bit damp and musty but AC sorted it. Breakfast fruit was delicious.
Really well located for everything. Bikes for rent very worth it..worth the money.

Stayed here for two nights, after two terrible nights at another hotels in Hoi An. The staff were absolutely amazing, and they were always really nice, and surprised us with gifts all the time. The rooms were not the best we have seen, but really charming, and they have also made swans out of towels on the beds! The breakfast was amazing, and the wifi, laundry service and luggage storing was perfect aswell. They also helped us book a bus ticket to Nha Trang and Saigon for a reasonable price.

Will definately stay here next time we are travelling to Hoi An.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Like everyone else has said we were also greeted with coconut cakes and cinnamon tea and were given small presents upon check-out. The room was nothing fancy, but it was large enough and clean. Unfortunately the beds were very hard and the shower was awkward. It is within easy walking distance of the restaurants and tailors but also away from the noise.
