7km out of town naturally leads to a quiet hotel. Rooms are clean but without telephones, common areas minimal (3 settees at reception). Much advertised pool is a round dried up steel container, in a very spacious and peaceful garden. Advertised 3 restaurants, only one functioning but for breakfast only. Wifi non-existent, one PC to be shared between hotel staff and guests. Some English spoken, otherwise Russian or Uzbek. WC rolls and drinking water only replenished on demand. Bathroom fine. Individual AC in rooms (Chinese instructions!). Taxi to other parts of town cheap and easy to get. Laundry costs up to European prices, manager disinterested in discussing this or other problems. As usual, Uzbek star rating about 2 above what Europe/USA would give.
