I reviewed this hotel a 5/10 on booking.com and then got a harassing email from the hotel saying that it was not fair to review them. My review was constructive to help future guests and to help the hotel. I felt it was very unprofessional of the hotel to contact me directly and say the things they did in their email. Here is the review:
Positives: the location is great, right downtown and you can walk everywhere. We needed an international adapter and they had one for us to use. Breakfast was ok. We left something in the room and they said they would post it to us.
Negatives: the beds are old and springy and way too soft. The bathrooms are so small that you can barely move in them (you have to turn sideways to get in the shower door in Room No.1). The rooms are also very small (we had an extra bed in ours and an extra cot in the other and they were super cramped). The carpets are dirty and should be removed (carpets are not a good idea for hotels). The curtains let light in at the tops, sides and middle where they meet. The street noise is loud - the hotel needs double-glazed windows. The towels were too small. The stairs are dangerous for kids. The stairs and location of rooms means that it is very noisy everytime someone comes up the stairs (we got woken by late check ins). We couldn't change the TV from Spanish to English. Charging the room rates (from booking.com) in USD is a pain when the currency is Uruguayan pesos and we were paying with a Uruguayan card. The hotel doesn't answer emails when contacted in English. We wouldn't stay here again, not for USD$90 a night!
