They've been talking about restoring the Plaza ever since I remember. Every now and then more pieces fall off. Soon there will be nothing there but rubble.

It was a nice Plaza but needs to be recovered because this place is full of history

We went here, thinking it was still in use. Turns out it was built about a hundred years ago, used only for a few bull fights in the next few years, then, bull fighting was outlawed and it was never used again. The style is interesting, kind of moorish/spanish looking. However, since it's not used, it's falling apart. Such a shame....it could be used as an events center or something, but according to a groundskeeper, no one ever uses it.

Don't waste your time going to the Plaza de Toros. It might have been interesting if they had maintained it, but it is collapsing, so you can't even go in, and there is nothing to see in the surrounding area.

To get away from the big city and to get some fresh air, a day trip to Colonia is a great opportunity.
1 hours fast ferry ride and you are in a different world.
It is UNESCO and the old town is nice.... not really something very special for European standards, but cute and great to relax.
Careful: Prices in restaurants are very high and not always worth it!
