“A haven of peace”

A beautiful little posada around a beautiful courtyard in a quiet street. Very welcoming staff with good clean rooms. There is also a great rooftop veranda which has great views and offered a stunning vista of the tremendous thunder and lightening storm that we had when we were there.

Cute little place to stay, very close to old town Colonia and situated meters from the river. Rooms dated, bed very uncomfortable and ran out of hot water in 2 minutes flat. Gardens lovely and relaxing with roof top area to sit and enjoy sunshine while it lasted. The biggest problem we found was that the only 2 ATMs had no money cause it was Monday after weekend and very few restaurants had credit card facilities that worked. Also Seems that ATMs only work with visa not MasterCard in this town! A lot of us in our group were very stuck for money!!!!

The posada has a very welcoming and tranquil feel about it. The rooms are set in 2 storeys around a courtyard. The rooms were fairly small, are traditionally furnished but were charming and spotless clean. You can relax and read in the courtyard or on a little terrace overlooking the river on the roof. The breakfast was nice too.
Only a few minutes walk to all the attraction of the old town.
Only downside was that the WiFi is only working close to the reception (and then not always).
Would stay here again!

Just metres from the river, the posada is set around a courtyard with an ornamental pond and pot plants everywhere. The rooms are on two floors surrounding the courtyard. They are very "old world" with wooden beams and tiled floors. Although not modern, the bathroom was immaculately clean. The roof-top terrace was the perfect place for a "sun downer drink" before heading into town to one of the many restaurants available. We stayed on Christmas Day so there was no breakfast available next day but one of the ladies helpfully provided hot water to make coffee. I wish we could have stayed longer! Almost forgot, good free wifi.

It's a lovely little hotel, right by the river. They even have a roof top terrace with view of the water and a nice terrasse inside the posada. As the name suggests, flowers everywhere.
The rooms are nice and cute and clean and they do have windows to the outside. Very comfortable beds. Air conditioning is included and working very well. Wifi is included and does work from your room. You don't have to sit in the reception.
Breakfast is included and the breakfast room is really cute. There is no huge choice for breakfast. You get fresh orange juice, coffee, tea, yerba mate, milk, four different kinds of bread, three different kinds of sweet buns, butter, jam, honey, dulce de leche. This is actually enough for breakfast and everything is absolutly fresh and very tasty and it is served as a buffet, so you can eat as much as you want and there are different kinds of breads and buns on different days, all of them very appealing.
The service is very good. The two ladies manageing the hotel are extremly friendly and helpfull. They really make you feel welcome. Obviously english is not their first language, but they do what they can to understand and to help you.
The hotel is situated just a five minutes walk from the old town, an old town that is very romantic and picturesc. At the same time, it is situated at the end of a street in a very calm neighbourhood. Obviously no noice and you will get a good nights sleep.
Restaurants are just one block away. There is a number of truely good ones right at the intersection. Banks and supermarkets next to the restaurants, so everything is just a short walk away. At the same time you're staying in a romantic, flowery hide away.

It's an easy 5 minute walk from the old part of the city and close to banks and restaurants. However, the rooms are old and dated and need an update. The door to our room had a semi-broken lock, making it very difficult to lock or unlock the room. Questionable how secure it was. We stayed in a duplex room that had one bathroom but also a separate toilet, which was a plus. Wifi available for free in the lobby and the courtyard was pretty. Stayed as part of a G Adventures tour.

Sweet little hotel, great location, wonderful rooftop area to relax and watch the sunset. Bed was not the most comfortable, and bathroom was tiny.
