I was here for a couple of days and I would have no problem recommending the resort as a place to stay. That being said there were some issues and I don't think it was up to the Four Seasons standard. The resort is in a beautiful and quiet area and a great place to relax but it is far away from anything and not the best place for someone looking for a lot of activities. They are doing some construction right now and while they made an effort to minimize the impact on guests that still did add some distraction. I found the breakfast to be pretty bad it had very limited options that were included there were a few extra options which were fairly expensive. One thing to be careful of all the extras here are very expensive and priced in dollars e.g. alcohol, dinner, laundry etc. We had quite a shocking laundry bill and they were offering a local sparkling wine that was $20 a glass at their restaurant and $25 a bottle at the winery's restaurant. Also the WiFi was a little buggy. Overall a nice place to relax but there are some drawbacks.
P.S. for anyone coming the tour of the winery nearby is a must it was a lot of fun (Narbona) and the horse back riding is great.

Dear JamesK,
Thank you for the feedback; we will definitely use it to improve. You'll be happy to know that we have added selections to the Breakfast Buffet.
The local sparkling wine is US$ 9.76/ glass with tax. The French Moet Chandon is US$ 22/glass. I think you may have been charged for the wrong sparkling wine. Can you contact me so we can refund you the difference?
Best Regards,
Mark

Hotel was very nice but was not of Four Seasons quality.
Average food, average staff service and facilities.
Honestly felt more like a Marriott (which i think it once was) with Four Seasons pricing.
Definitely the low light of 2 week trip to Argentina and Uruguay.

This is a Four Seasons in name only. Beautiful outdoor pool wasn’t heated (or very clean). The spa doesn’t do nails. Service was ok, not great. It’s a decent hotel, but not up to the four seasons caliber.

Dear Matthew,
I am sorry you felt the experience was a 2 star. The pool cleaniliness was due to a huge storm that blew in during/before your stay, and I apologize that we could not get all the leaves out in time. We will work on that.
Our 44 room resort does not have a full time nail person, but we could have arranged one for you. I am sorry that the staff did not mention that.
I really appreciate your comments, and hope you'll give us another chance in the future.
Best Regards,
Mark

The hotel is located outside of Carmelo town in the route 21. If you go by car and in the night is not well signed. The hotel is located in the middle of forest near to the beach. The hotel staff is very kind and friendly. The duplex rooms are big and confortables. The pool expierence is great, you won't leave for a moment. All amenities have a very high quality. Is excelent for a weekend scape or a week visit. It'a highly recommended! Thanks to all staff for the nice stay!

I visited Four Seasons Carmelo with my husband and 2 year-old daughter for 8 nights earlier this month. We were looking for a beautiful place to relax after several days in Buenos Aires. I'm so glad we chose Four Seasons Carmelo.

The property is a gem. We spent hours swimming in the stunning pool set on gorgeous vineyards. It's one of the most peaceful and enchanting places we've ever visited.

Mark Bingle, the GM, and his staff were warm, attentive and genuine. The rooms were incredibly spacious and comfortable (we slept amazing!)

I'd recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to retreat from reality. It was ideal for couples - but also for kids. Our daughter loved it!

Room Tip: We stayed in the bi-level suite. Spacious and comfortable!

Many people highly recommended Carmelo - a beautiful town in the countryside of Uruguay and on the river with wonderful views. The town is indeed very beautiful - rolling green hills, vineyards, farms and blue skies. The Four Seasons property was one of the most spectacular hotels we have stayed at. It was winter holidays for schools in Argentina, so there were a ton of families there with kids (sorry honeymooners!). It was perfect for us though. Our daughter spent her days in the kids club doing scavenger hunts and hide and seek or hanging out with the employees of the hotel, who were so wonderful with kids. It was more than we could have asked for in a 4 day retreat from Buenos Aires. Santiago, who worked at the front desk of the hotel was especially amazing. He spent what seemed like hours talking to our kids and was SO helpful in every way! I hope to return someday - and would highly recommend this beautiful place to anyone visiting Uruguay.

This is the place where you go and hide"! with no worries apart from what will you have for breakfast...this is the right place to come for total relaxation. Of course is better to come out of high season..all room types are just great size and quality. There´s plenty of privacy. the products in your toilet would be L¨occitane which shows they level up with the product they offer. you will also find kenzo at the spa toilet..amazing. as we arrived they open the door for us specially and gave us an Apple cinnamon hot tea which, as a start, dazzled us ( they will even tell you how its made if you like so much) Breakfast room is just petite and lovely ( you may oalso have dinners there) you are close to the river to go for a walk or take a bike or ask them for horse riding. Spa is lovely relaxing room well decorated small still, just try to choose low season to enjoy fully! massage very expensive and not the best..for all those who likes massages and knows already how its done correctly. hotel service exceed expectations and the rooms are just perfect..not one complain" the área is isolated...good to go there by car so you have it to move around whether you wish to eat something in the Little town of Carmelo or drive for a while around the área...totally recommend it" enjoy"! =)

Room Tip: all rooms are just great, maybe try to get it closer to the river therefore more quiet and nicer vie...
