“A little bit disappointed”
Reviewed April 7, 2014 via mobile

I was prepared to see artefact about the islamic civilization from the prophecy of Mohamed PBUH. But the information was sporadic and organized by themes rather than dates. Nothing was from the past most artefacts are from 16th century upward. I liked the science and architeture exhibits and the meccah one.
Worth the visit but not the detour.
1 hour max unless you like to go through things with a fine tooth comb.
Btw. No guided tour was offered for us.

“An excellent museum”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

We saw an awful lot of museums on our trip to the Emirates and Oman, but none were as well laid out as this one. The displays were informative and creatively done. I wish we had had more time.

“Fascinating exhibition in beautiful building”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

A beautiful building (converted from a modern souq in Arabic style) complete with a café. Everyone will benefit from the excellently designed exhibition rooms. Find our what Islamic civilisation has brought to the world.

“Interesting”
Reviewed January 30, 2014 via mobile

This is probably the best of the Sharjah museums. Ground floor gives a good overview of Islam in English as well as contributions to science and engineering. Upstairs has lots of Islamic artefacts. Takes about an hour to see all. Museum shop a bit limited and there is a cafe but didn't try it. Can couple with a nice walk along the corniche.

“Deep insight into Islam and scientific contributions of Muslim scholars”
Reviewed January 23, 2014

Gives a wonderful insight into Islam, particularly the scientific contributions of Islamic scholars. It was quite a revelation to learn that the astrolabe which is used to measure the movements of the stars, and determined directions during travels was perfected by Muslims. The contribution of Islam scholars in the fields of astronomy, mathematics, medicines etc are also brilliantly depicted. But what I liked best was the section featuring pictures of the Haj ritual.
