A bit late with this review as we visited in its first year of opening. Although technically not in Dubai ( it's an hour away from the airport) and somewhat "cut off", it's a beautiful hotel. Staff are extremely welcoming and very friendly. It's a perfect place to get away from it all. The pools are terrific, especially the salt water one. The rooms are a very good size and very well appointed. Food was also excellent with pretty much every wish catered for. The place is a real oasis and I highly recommend it. Will be back. The only minor quibble is that wi-fi is not free (at least at the time of our visit) which seems a bit out of step with pretty much anywhere you visit these days and especially for a 5 star hotel . That apart this is a wonderful place to relax.

Spent 3 nights at Hilton and was very impressed with everything. Having stayed many times in Dubai Jumeira beach area this was a very pleasant change. It's an hour from Dubai airport and you feel quite 'cut off' but this didn't matter as I've seen Dubai. However, my friend wanted to see all the sights so we arranged via the Virgin rep a private car with our own driver and for 10 hours he took us everywhere we wanted to go! He waited while we shopped, had dinner and also took photos! Perfect day out.
The pool area is lovely, loads of beds, lovely and clean. You can sit on the beautiful beach or by the pool as they are just yards apart.
We had half board option and the buffet breakfast & dinner were really nice with lots of variety.
I used the spa a couple of times for a fabulous massage and facial, highly recommend.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely return

my family and i have recently spent a magnificent 11 nights at this hotel. i booked the hotel through virgin holidays who were very helpful in getting us our booking. i spent ages looking for a family holiday which would keep our 3yr and 6yr old children entertained and keeping within a budget. having come across this hotel i checked all the latest reviews and could not find one that was negative so i had no hesitation in booking it. our only concern was the heat for the children as the temperature on the hottest day was 45degr and the coolest 40degr. however i need not have worried as the children spent most of there time in the temperature controlled pool which was nice and cold.
we had a garden terrace room which was sufficient for our needs but the only negative was that there was not enough room to put all of our clothes in. however the maid mae ann noticed we had a lot of clothes still out and wrote us a sweet note saying that she had noticed our clothes out and brought us a load more coat hangers. we stayed in room 3120 which led out to the pool and about 30metre from the beach. we enjoyed staying in the main complex as it was all air-conditioned which was lovely welcome break at night time.
we ate in all of the restaurants that were covered in the all inclusive and even if there was something we did not like the chef would do us something extra (mainly for the kids)
We ate most of our meals in the MAARID restaurant which was the buffet. it had a very good selection for our tastes with fresh roasted meats, fresh pizzas, pasta etc. there was plenty of selection for the family. the staff in the restaurant really made us feel very welcomed. from the managers Rahul and ajeev who made very special efforts to know our family and make us feel very welcome at every visit. conversation was easy and there english very easy to understand. the waiter faruk who was very attentive and played with our kids and brought them special drinks. he certainly made meal times easy for the children and once agin his english was very good. also in the restaurant was moshi, jelly ann and rony who also were very good with our family and made extra special effort for us at every visit. there are more but these were the main ones that made it really special.
we also ate ate at the passage to asia which was very nice oriental food (especially sweet and sour chicken). only let down was we asked for chicken breast in the noodles but we got leg and thigh which was a bit fatty and grisly. however when we were asked our our meal was and we said about the chicken this was rectified on our next visit.the hotel and staff will do anything they possibly can to make your holiday a special one.
we also ate at the PIACERI DA GUSTARE which was an italian based restaurant. very nice atmosphere from the buffet style s very relaxed and personal. the food was very nice with the menu changing weekly on the set menu for the all inclusive. however we did not like anything on the new menu and they kindly cooked us from the old menu. the german manageress (sorry did not catch her name) was very attentaive and was extremely professional in her role.
as part of virgin all inclusive you can eat at the AL BAHAR restaurant at lunchtime which provides fresh meat from the bbq. again this was quite and peaceful and the food very good indeed with fresh chicken breast kebabs, chicken and beef sausages, fresh fish and steak. the staff were extremely friendly as some had worked in the MAARID restaurant.
around the hotel we utilised the buggies and moktan who was our usual buggy man was very friendly with many buggies in use and just a phone call away they took you where ver you needed especially good in the mid day heat.
as for the pools we mainly spent our time at the DHOW bar pool which was temperature controlled and a welcome break from the heat. the staff again were excellent.

i could go on and on but overall this was by far the best holiday we have ever had and we have been to many 5 star establishments such as mauritius, dubai previously at the palm court resort as part of jebel ali, greece, cyprus etc.
i would not hesitate in recommending this hotel but one thing i would suggest is that you keep an eye on your children around the pool as some parents seem to neglect looking after there children and whilst we were there, there were 4 incidents where children were pulled out of the water by other parents as there own parents were not watching them. the pools are clearly stated wether adult or child so be careful.

We arrived at the hotel for a second year running on a Virgin all inclusive holiday for 10 nights.
Despite a delay in getting into our villa the hotel & holiday was 100%.

All the staff we're were helpful & pleasant & took pride in their jobs & the hotel . Special thanks to Martin who was very helpful with our room delay & took my travel weary bad mood in his stride & sorted the problem even offering a short term room should we wish to rest. Martin's team went beyond the norm to make sure we settled & my wife's birthday meal was FOC in the delightful Italian restaurant .
Many thanks to you all & we will return again next year , have stayed in 5 star hotels many times & very few seem to justify the rating this hotel does & more .

Room Tip: It's very much personal choice but to me a ground floor villa is the place. Every morning your s...

My husband and I spent a weekend away from Dubai and checked into the Hilton at Ras al Khaimah. It was an extremely busy weekend and the hotel was packed to capacity - in spite of that, we had a speedy check in and even got our room before the check in time.

The room was spacious and had a beautiful view of the pool and the ocean. Nice, big bathroom with a bathtub and a separate shower area.

The hotel is massive, sprawling over the white sands - there are plenty of villas too, which seemed to be quite popular as well. You need to use the buggy to get from the main hotel building to restaurants at the other end, as its quite a long walk, especially in peak summer. There are a number of swimming pools - both salt water and fresh water pools, adult pools and children's pools, and separate pools by the villas. Apart from this, of course, there is the sea. So one is really spoilt for choice with where to swim.

There are plenty of restaurants too - we tried 'Passage to Asia' for dinner and the Italian restaurant for lunch. Both were excellent. I recommend making reservations in advance as the hotel does get quite busy. There were a number of bars too, but we dint manage to visit them on this trip.

We spent our evening at the pool bar and beachside cafe which were both very nice. The cafe closes at 6 pm- so if you're hungry after that, you have to make your way inside the hotel to the main lobby. We would have liked something by the pool.

The spa was also very relaxing - they had great therapists and we enjoyed it so much the first day, that we went back the next day for another massage. Must visit!

There were plenty of kids and the resort has lots of activities organised to keep the young ones busy. They have a kids play area by the pool, volleyball, slides, etc. If its quite, romantic time you are looking for - this is not the place for you. Its a very busy and buzzing hotel!

We had a very relaxing weekend and enjoyed this gorgeous hotel on the beach. Definitely recommend it for a quick break!

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room with an ocean view!

I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking out to celebrate any special occasion. Hilton truly knows how to take care of their guests in a special manner. There might be small forgetful incidents but which hotel doesn't have that. The incidents were too small against the kind of service provided by the hotel. One of my favorite and 're-visit' hotel.
