“Wonderful Ras Al Khaimah! Dubai without the noise & pollution! Beautiful views and wonderful resort!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2011

As a first time visitor to Ras Al Khaimah I can only report a 10/10 for this northern emirate! As a regular in Dubai I was wary of venturing to the unknown, but am fully converted to what RAK has to offer a holiday maker. The hotel was wonderful, from decor to service, our every need was thought about and we were looked after as personal guests. The views from the beach are heavenly, its Dubai without the clutter, if that even makes sense. The pace is slightly slower the guests are more relaxed the service is refined. Outside you definitely don't miss the noise and pollution of Dubai. I find in Dubai it takes a few days to relax into holiday mode, but in RAK its defintetly quicker. Our room wasn't ready so we were upgraded to a villa! From the garden of our villa we had more or less solo access to 2 private good size pools, 1 was completed shaded so would be perfect for toddlers. I was amazed at the size of the resort...its kind of like the whole size of the the Jumeriah group in Dubai. Whilst the hotel was big you 'ever' felt crowed or ever had to wait for anything. Its got so many different areas to enjoy that 1 week was just not long enough. We did pop out to Al Hamra Fort shopping area one day and enjoyed seeing the commercial side of RAK along with having lunch at the Al Hamra Fort. In brief summary - perfect 1st stay in RAK and will defintley return.
1 hour 10 minutes exactly from Dubai airport, although if you stay at Al Hamra or Cove Rotana you can easy cut the journey down to about 55 minutes. And Direct from RAK to Dubai was only 45 minutes so its really not as far as it seems.

Just home from the hilton, Ras Al Khairmah hotel,
Had a great time hotel was one of the older hotels in the area, but still looking good.
Staff were fantastic, room was clean and well kept.
paid for the upgrade to All inclusive as food and the drinks were expensive.
Cost £60 per person but was worth it.
The hotel is an hour and twenty mins away from Dubia, and a taxi costs £40 each way
They run a bus trip to Dubai thats free,
the hotel is built on a creek, and the beach is 2 km away, theres a free shuttle bus every hour to there big sister hotel, with great pools and food!
We had agreat time and you will either love dubai or hate it, its that kind of place!!!!

Room Tip: make sure you know how far it is from Dubai, and are prepared to travel

Stayed here for 5 nights in October - weather was perfect (34-37 degrees), very clean, modern resort with plenty on offer. We had a room on the second floor - just above the Esprit Club.
Rooms are big - big enough to easily accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids aged 2 and 7 and still have room for a sofa, big table and at baby cot. Beds are good - a bit hard but nothing to worry about. Bathroom was very good, big shower with rainfall shower and a nice bathtub to unwind in the evening.
Being a five star resort everything was expensive - drinks, soft drinks, shops etc. so I would recommend that you go all-inclusive. The all-inclusive menu is very good ! Almost everything is included so please do that. If that is not your thing, there is the possibility to get a Taxi and spend 8 minutes and 15 Dirhams including tip, to shop at the big Manar Mall. There is a huge Carrefour with anything you would ever want - and it is very, very cheap.
While staying there we had to endure noise from the Club just below our room - we asked the reception to turn the noise down but without luck. After 2 nights we insisted on moving to another room to get away from the noise. We moved to blok 3 which was much quieter. I find it a little bit stupid that a hotel that caters mainly for families will accept that much noise from a Club that nobody seemed to use. We talked to other families with rooms on the fifth floor and even they felt bothered by the noise. So try to get at room as far away from the club and you will be fine.
Pools are great - two pools are temperature controlled to 28 degrees (including the kids pool) and there is a very high level of security with lifeguards at every pool - at one pool even two that made sure that everyone behaved and were safe. Even when watching the sunset from the beach - its beautiful ! - there were staff standing by and making sure everybody was ok.

Location is very good in Ras, but be aware that it takes a bit more than 75 minutes to get from Dubai airport to the resort. We were promised that the transfer from the airport would take 1 hour - it actually took 2 because of other guests having to be dropped of on the way. I would advise you to arrange a direct transfer - the Resort will help you.
So to sum up : staff is sooo nice, food is great with a different theme every night and its is a very modern resort. Its big but doesn't feel as such.
Please go - you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Higher floors are much quieter and have a better view.

We visited during the eid al adha holidays. Loved the three days we spent. Go for the queen beach front villas, get the ground floor chalets, kids can play on the beach under your watchful eyes as you laze in the gardenfront of your villas. Six swimming pools, salty water pool is a novelty, buoyancy all around ......water sports are pricey, exploiting monopoly status...aed 200 for 20 mins of jet ski...

Good range for breakfast, if you want to go for an expanded spread go for the restaurant in the main building, do NOT go to pura vida, the restaurant at the water breaker.the italian restaurant is recommended for fine dinning , low on variety but great taste...

Beach volleyball, table tennis, jogging tracks, water slides for kids.. Sunset bar, duty free for those who would want to order ice buckets!!!!. The only big surprise was IMITATION stuff of well known brands, like POLO, TOMMY, PAUL SMITH, BURBERRY.... are sold in hotel authorized shops.....

Efficient check-in and check-out services. Hilton honors does the extra trick.....

Would want to go back......

Dear Guest,

thanks for your comments posted on Tripadvisor following your stay with us. We really appreciate that you have enjoyed your stay with us.

When the Resort is very busy, we offer two locations for breakfast, one in our all day dining restaurant of the main building and one in our waterbreaker restaurant located at the villas area. Two different atmospheres with almost the same number of items on the buffet. So, please do enjoy!

On the other hand, I have taken note of your other comments and will investigate accordingly.

We hope you have the opportunity to visit our Hotel again in the future.

Kind regards.

It is true to say this is not the plushest of 5 star hotels. The rooms are arguably more suited to a brief business client than a holidaymaker there for several days. A little dated maybe but how much time do you spend in your room if you are on a sunshine holiday?
The staff are excellent however, genuinely helpful and friendly - special thanks to Myra our room maid (excellent service with extra little touches to bring a smile to your face), Gayan and the team in the restaurant, Flerida and Analyn in the lobby bar (who were run off their feet in keeping our glasses full - lol) and Rilwan and his team in the Havana bar.
The food was well prepared and varied - if heavily arabic influenced - which did mean my choices were limited on occasions (and I wouldn't consider myself a fussy eater). I never went hungry though!
Being able to use the facilities at the nearby sister Resort and Spa worked for us. Possibly the Hilton RAK is a little pricey for what it is itself but it is something of a bargain if you regularly use the superior location that is the Hilton RAK Resort & Spa. A regular shuttle bus will transport you the 2 or 3 kms between the two (but even if you miss the bus, or prefer not to use it, a taxi ride to one from the other costs about 10 dirhams - around £2).
We booked on the all-inclusive package which in the main was honoured at both hotels (and the nearby Doublteree by Hilton if you should happen to visit that hotel too).
For me, the acid test of a good hotel/holiday is whether you would be happy to go back. We would, without doubt.
We did stay at the Resort & Spa itself two years ago (just as it officially opened) and whilst it is a clearly superior place to stay, it is significantly more expensive to do so (we enquired about an upgrade to the resort again).
For me, stay at the Hilton RAK hotel and use the facilities at the Hilton RAK Resort & Spa and you get the best of both worlds for much less of an outlay and you benefit from the very friendly staff at the 'City' hotel (as they call it)..

Room Tip: For us, the pool view rooms are superior (often also with a view of the creek) but you are occasiona...

We have just come back from a 5 night break. It is a great place to just chill out and relax. we found no issue with the staff as they were all very polite and helpful. Eg we had joining rooms with our daughters. The adjoining door was locked and after unlocking the guide to our room managed to actually pull the handle off which was quite funny although the last thing we needed after a long overnight flight. Anyway, house keeping came in 3 minutes and put a new handle on in 10. Loads of apologies and away he goes. Great service. I would recommend staying all inclusive as we did, although the buffet was a bit the same after night 5. You can try other resturants but you get 70 Dhn towards your meal which would hardly pay for 1 course and we felt a bit silly to pay any extra after paying for all inclusive. A very large selection of drinks were free including great cocktails (solim at Sunset bar was brilliant and deserves a payrise!!) The kids loved being able to have as many 7ups & pepsis as they wanted.
The location is very good, pools 7 sea great, rooms top class staff very plesent. The only minor problem we had were 1) the towels went on sunbeds very early even if some people only used the bed for half an hour. Think the hotel neeed to sort this out. 2)why with all inclusive wristbands do we have to sign a reciept which is for 0.00 evertime?
Anyway really enjoy this break and dont believe the grumpy reviews!
