i stayed in hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of March. After check-in which was smooth and quite quick compering to some other stays in USA and Europe, i got really lovely room with great ocean view. Since I prefer Italian cousins I ate dinners in their Italian restaurant, where food was great. i will stay one more time if I come to Dubai.

Stayed as a group for one night. Enjoyed the all inclusive facilities of the property which adds to the value of this new property. There were no gaps in perceptions (as a new property) and expectations which has translated into our satisfaction. Staff at reception, outlets and outdoor facilities were courteous and trained. Minor snags as a new property is expected which we understand is being taken care. Good luck and wishing all the best

We were in Rixos Bab Al Bahr in the beginning of March 2014 for 7 night with our family and small daughter 5 years. We really want to recommend this hotel to all travellers with kids. Kids club Rixy club is amazing. Our daughter liked it so much, she spent there all her vacation during we were enjoying our holidays. And first time we really had time for us. Rooms in the hotell are very large, we was staying in family room, no problem with cleaning at all, with very beautiful views to the sea. We really enjpyed animation program in the hotel and every evening there is something different and was new for us. The best compliments we can give to the restaurants. Food starting from European and continue with traditional dishes. Large beach and two huge swimming pools was very surprising for us, as this is one of the most important for our vocation. Next year we are definitely come back. As we are just in love with emirates and now there is real ALL as in Turkey or Egypt, we will go there next year again!

My husband and I came with my father for a short break.we paid 3300 aed per night which is a lot of money. On the first evening we were told that two of the restaurants were fully booked although they were extremely quiet.we had to complain to the management and were then told we could get a table only after complaining.after being told that the restaurant had a booking for 61 people the restaurant stayed quiet all night.thankfully the next day we had pre booked and didn't have a problem. We asked for a late check out on out last day end were told that the hotel was full and it was not available. However I managed to get an extra day off work so we decided to see if we could stay for another night, we were told yes charged the 3300 aed and given the same room after 4 hours so why the late check out was not available I don't know.i then said to my husband to book a restaurant as we didn't want to encounter the same issue..... We were then told after paying for an extra night that ALL restaurants were fully booked aside from the buffet restaurant!!! After having to complain again we were told that the restaurants were not fully booked but there was a problem with the kitchens being too small, eventually we got a reservation to the "full restaurant that had 10 customers. The pool toilet was also flooded several times and was very dirty. There were several it's in menus from all of the restaurants that were not available so reading the menus was a lot luck in what you could actually get. They ran out of sparkling wine, not good for a 5 star hotel and the internet which is advertised constantly crashed, even in the bedrooms!!!!!! There is also a massive problem with flies and they don't seem to have any function to deter them at all. The staff however ante very helpful and courteous and the food, when you manage to get a restaurant booking through arguing, is very nice.

Stayed here with the family for 5 nights all inclusive.

Upon arrival reception took nearly an hour finding our reservation then told us our room was not ready, this was at 3pm.

Our room had no bath and a very small shower, I spoke to the Manager who advised that only the King Suites have baths and these are still under construction in the other building. The advertising photos showed baths. A major problem is that the staffs English is very poor and you have to repeat yourself very slowly constantly. On our second day the air con packed up in our room, we then asked to have a meeting with the Manager. He was very apologetic and moved us to a family suite. On the third night the air con packed up again and engineers had to be called out. They did repair it.

Dont be fooled by the ultra all inclusive, its normal all inclusive and majority of hotels have same menu, the minibar in the room only has soft drinks and water, no alcohol or snacks. Room service is included but only between 3am-6am...seriously who is going to be ordering at 3am. Its all a big scam about ultra all inclusive. The food at the main restaurant Seven Heights lacks variety of main dishes but has good selection of fruit and salad. The hotel to look at looks impressive and only one of the buildings were open, I think another 4 building's are to open anytime. There is only one pool that is split in sections, the pool gets very busy with just one building open, it is no way sufficient for 5 buildings. The beach is not 5 star/uae standard, sand used is rough and mixed with broken shells, we had to use flip flops. The sea bed is the same but with a lot of rocks and you need something on yout feet.

The hotel has a lot of teething problems and some bits of minor construction need finishing. When you run the taps the water is yellow to begin with and I was advised that this is normal and not dangerous. ....it does clear after about 10-15seconds.

My advice is go Waldorf or Dubai. This hotel does not meet the 5 star expectations, it does not provide in room tea making facilities and there is no iron.

Hotel definitely not 5 star, 4 star at a push. Do not expect the 5 star qualities you would expect at Dubai. For me I would never return to Rak, I have stayed in many hotels in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Rixos does not even come close. If you have stayed in Dubai 5 stars you will be disappointed with this hotel.

Save your money and stay in Dubai.

Top of the line all-inclusive 5-star hotel with it's own private beach! Get to experience the luxury of UAE and high standard cuisine all in one place!

Room: We stayed in a two-bedroom suite with private balconies in each room; all of them facing the beach! (see picture). Every room was spacious, comfortable and spotless.
Service: Great experience all around. All staff is eager to please and are very polite. Room service -not included- was speedy.
Food: Awesome. At night you have the option to eat at one of their a la cart restaurants -be sure to make reservations! We dined at "Meat Point" -South American food. The waiters brought me a beautiful cake for my birthday as well! (See picture) The breakfast and lunch buffets had high quality foods and more options that you can possibly eat.
Spa: Since this is a brand new hotel we pretty much had our own private spa! My favorites: the hot room and the spa heated pool. There's also a service person who brings you drinks! Ooh la la.

All around excellent experience.

Note: it's more family oriented and you will find a lot of kids.

I had a great time with the family, awesome pool and amazing staff. They are all friendly and sweet which made it the best experience that I ever had. They have a variety of restaurants and entertainment for people all ages. The quality of service was very personalized despite to the fact the resort was busy. The rooms were spacious, clean and have very large balconies with a fantastic view of the beach. I would also recommend you to try there burgers at toast and burger restaurant. I sent my children to teens republic and they had a wonderful time. Overall this hotel is different to many other resorts we stayed and truly the best.

Room Tip: choose one with a large balcony and an excellent view of the pool or beach.
