“Good place to stay, spa experience is nothing much.”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Hotel is located on a mountain with breathtaking views from all balconies. We had booked 2 standard double rooms @ Dhs 500 ea, one of which was upgraded to Superior room for free. Since we had 2 kids who were to occupy the second room, we had requested for adjacent rooms. The booking attendant assured us that the rooms were indeed adjacent but in fact the kids room was located in a corner away from our room. Staff were friendly and courteous.
The rooms are definitely value for money and very clean. Balconies have no privacy whatsoever though. Beds are good and comfortable to sleep in.You definitely do not need air conditioning in winter.
Bathrooms have a shower cubicle and a bath with an elaborate shower panel. Our room didn't have the in-room coffee-tea-kettle set though kids' room had it.
The hotel restaurant is extremely pricey. Breakfast comes at Dhs 50 per person which again is too much considering the standard spread and nothing much for vegetarians.Go out into the town to find cheaper places to eat with better food options.
Spa had nothing much to offer - no facials available, though a variety of facials and other treatments including waxing and threading were announced in the pamphlet. The pool was nice though. Separate areas for men and women.
Better use the Khatt Natural Hot Springs right next door, or door way down rather since you have to walk down about 100 steps to reach the springs from the hotel. Walking up those steps can kill you if you are not a physically fit person!Of course you can drive down to the hot springs too.
Overall, it was a nice weekend getaway experience though SPA proved to be a bit disappointing.

Room Tip: Do not choose in-house restaurants unless you want to spend too much money for too little.

I spent one night at Khatt Springs Resort and Spa in Ras Al Khaimah. The location is wonderful. The hotel lies on a hill surrounded by a mountainous area. The staff are very affable and helpful people. They upgraded us by offering us two spacious deluxe rooms for free. I enjoyed the various facilities in the hotel and had a dinner buffet for a reduced price. Thanks to the entire hotel staff, especially the people at the reception and the guys in charge of the restaurant. However, the only things that were not pleasant at all are the room service, which was very slow at first; then improved thanks to the prompt intervention of the receptionist, and the food which should be ameliorated. I recommend the hotel for families looking for time away from the monotonous, bustling life of the city.

Went there last February for my birthday. Very slow check in (took 1 hour 30 mins). Room was good once we got there. My daughter and son-in-law were not happy with their room, they had an 8 month old baby to look after, and even on request, were told that there was no heating available (bearing in mind that the night temperature is quite low at that time of year) The evening meal was good, but breakfast was a disaster. Long queues, empty servers, and when they were filled the food was tepid to cold. Not a satisfying end to a short break.

It's been four month since we were last there. This time round we were disappointed as the hotel didn't seem the same anymore. This hotel was a pleasure to go to, however times have changed and its just an ordinary place now. The cleanliness, staff attitude, breakfast choice ... everything has changed. The outside pool was closed. Room service was so very slow and the whole place just looked dull.

There is no drinking water at the hot spring. They have removed the water dispensers so you stay thirsty in the heat. There was no toilet paper in the spa toilets. I checked of them and no paper. Never mind, better luck next time.

All I can say is that if you want to claim 5 stars status you should act like one.

Room Tip: Try taking a room on the mountain side. There is some work going on on the front of the hotel so try...

Very close to the Khatt springs and located on top of a hill. This provides a nice view of the surrounding mountains. The swimming pool and the spa facilities seem decent. Food served inside the hotel is average for the price paid.

The toilet definitely needs some maintenance. The hotel needs some touchup, which they are working on at the moment. This might lead to some noise during the day.

Room Tip: Try opting for rooms on the higher floors.

Khatt Springs is a nice place to go to if you want to have a relaxing weekend. It's got a decent spa and really cozy rooms. But the service is slow and at times, even if the staff is polite and eager to help. The dining/breakfast area could use a lot of work with the dingy decor but the food was great. In all, not too bad if you're looking for something good at a cheaper price.

We booked a deal through one of the deal sites wherein we got a night stay at the hotel along with 2 tickets to the water park. The hotel is average with basic amenities and the staff work hard to give their best service.

Over all its average, food is not great and the spa is below expectations.

Only book this hotel through a deal and see if you could make it during the week days as it is cheaper. Weekends tend to be expensive and not worth the price. Plus side is the pool, which overlooks the mountain area.

Room Tip: Book rooms during the week days through any of the deal sites (if available). No point paying extra...
