I enjoy nature so visiting the only oasis of the region was a refreshing change from the desert. I appreciated the greenery and vast land of palms. There was a cold filtered water at the entrance and helped ease the day's heat. Then there was nothing else to do. 3 stars.

The oasis is lovely and we enjoyed seeing the canals and it provides a nice shade in the hot weather but with a number of meandering paths it is easy to get confused. With some difficulty we managed to find an exit so yes definitely needs better signage within the place.

Well, the guide let us expect a bit more, but it is still interesting to visit; not so much the Oasis (just hundreds of date palm trees, but the National Museum right next to it.
the thing REALLY not to miss is the Al Jaheli Fort right nearby! Although restored, it gives you an idea of what such forts meant 100 years ago, especially when you visit at 45°C in the shade!
And the permanent exhibition of photography in homage to Wilfred Thesiger (a modern Lawrence of Arabia; he wrote "Arabian Sands" about his wanderings) is a must! Especially if you (Germans, Austrians, Swiss...) have read Karl May! Astounding.

Travelled to the Al Ain Oasis with some friends. It is a UESCO site... so initially I was excited but... after being in the Oasis for well over an hour I came to realize it is more of a maze, all areas are identical, litter is everywhere which is sad, little signage about the animal and flora in the area... so you do not know what you are look at or looking for. Really its just a walled green space, with nothing but palm trees to see. Little sitting space... barbed wire... add to the cons. The good news is... its free and rarely closed... It just was not worth the visit... sorry.

The place is surely captivating and has a lot of potential to a be great tourist attraction. What is needed though are a few important improvements:
- Better signage outside to reach the pace
- Better entries and exits (we had to a do a weird detour in a very dirty and uneven ground around the main gate as guided by a someone who seems to live in the oasis)
- Better signage inside to include a map and key information about the oasis (water ways, type of trees, preservation efforts, ecosystem, etc)
- Restrict car access (a few cars zoomed by during our stroll inside)
- Benches at vintage points and clean public toilets
