“Very Professional Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

I was staying for week on a course. I found the overall quality of staff to be very good, with many excellent. I was very impressed to see management engaged, and I even got a follow up email to my comments. Impressed.... I think the facilities are very good, the staff make it better. A good place for families it seemed, and also seemed like an excellent place to take a break from DXB or AUH. Taxis were not readily available at times, but the front desk could organise, and I had saved one man's number. One side of the hotel had no reception to DU (one of two local companies) so I recommend asking first if your foreign mobile is linked to them. If UAE resident, you must also select manual on network select, as the upper floors will connect to Oman telco's quite easily, leading to very expensive charges.
Overall, I think the facility is definitely 5 * and value for money if you are looking to be out of the city centre, this is a resort in all senses and meant to be enjoyed. I thought some of the negative comments previously made about the facilities being outdated were unwarrented. I look forward to returning. Regards,

Room Tip: Check your phone before you stay and if foreign try to connect to etislsat, I am told this would be...

We stayed at the Danat Al Ain hotel last week (4-10 March) and we were very impressed. Our room on the 6th floor was lovely, everything was clean, the double bed was huge and the view from our balcony was wonderful. The buffet breakfast in the Arabesque restaurant was superb with lots of choice of foods catering for lots of different cultures (It was nice to see well known western brands, such as Kellogg's cereals, Lurpak butter and Bonne Maman jam). All the staff were lovely and friendly, especially Samira who ran the front of house during our stay. Thank you for making our visit to Al Ain special. We look forward to returning in a few months and we will be happy to recommend the hotel to family and friends. From Mr and Mrs R Hillard

Though it is a rather old complex and not comparable with the posh 5* properties in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, for a weekend in Al Ain the Danat Resort is not too bad. We stayed in one of their executive suites which was quite large (even had a small kitchen) but lacked atmosphere and was not really cosy. The gym and the pool area are great; nothing to complain here. Especially our children enjoyed the big pool. A bonus is the temperature controlled lap pool. F&B was a mixed bag: We did not like the breakfast buffet at Arabesque, but enjoyed dinner at The Wok followed by sheesha behind the pool very much. Staff throughout the hotel was friendly and helpful.
In conclusion, for one or two nights it is an acceptable place to stay.

This hotel has a very good potential - it is nicely situated in a beautiful oasis town of Al Ain. The views from the hotel are very nice, all rooms with balconies are renovated (but not bathrooms, which gives a strange contrast) and very nice breakfasts offered. It has a very nice and relaxing swimming pool area - a safe pool for smaller kids, good family pool and great olympic size pool for good swimmers, as well as outside jacuzzi, pool bar, lifeguards, playground for children, etc. However, I got the impression that the hotel is currently still undergoing renovation as parts of it are already renovated and nice while some other parts are completely old and abandoned. Also, be careful - it is a very family friendly hotel, but during the weekends it gets crowded and very noisy at night being a popular spot for wedding celebration, discos, etc. We couldn't sleep during the night of a Valentine's 'day' celebrations and when we called the reception, they didn't even say sorry, only informed us that there was a celebration with a DJ... I believe that it can become a very nice hotel with great facilities, but still needs to make renovations, soundproofing and service improvements.

Room Tip: If you stay during the week, then definately take the pool side room as the view to the oasis is ver...

Stayed in this Hotel a few years ago when it was a Inter-Con, was 3* at best. Now under new Danat management the rating has fallen. During my 5 day stay the Internet failed to work even once, no wifi, no cable, nada anywhere in the hotel! The front desk staff think they are doing you a favour if you ask them even the smallest request and the Italian resturant is 'faulty towers' reborn. I will not return. The Rotana Al Ain is a much better choice, nice people and a Trader Vic's bar that makes great drinks.

Room Tip: Don't!

Had a great experience at this hotel. Staying for 2 nights and got upgraded to a suite... huge lounge room (with dining and kitchen we didn't use), spa in bathroom. A welcome pastry platter was a very nice touch. Lovely views out. There's only one thing that could have made it better - outdoor furniture so we could sit and enjoy the view on one of the 4 balconies. Will definitely be staying there again!
