Need a map, too many "locals" trying to get you to hire them for a tour. Beautiful area and great look at Lake Victoria.

Quick stop here to see the plants and the monkeys. Got a tour from a local kid, and we gave him 40,000 shillings at the end. Get someone to walk you around it makes the experience better.

We visited the gardens more to view the bird life. Excellent variety of birds, both exotic and common. Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable.

If you are approached by a guide, don't automatically dismiss the idea. Ours was a botany student, making money for textbooks, and was incredibly knowledgeable (and we knew enough to be confident he wasn't making it up!)

There's a magical feel here, and it's wonderful to find ebony, mahogany, frankincense, and even canonball trees!

There's a little bar down on the shore of Lake Victoria too.

Toilets all around the site. Some access issues for those with reduced mobility but if you have a friend to help you it should be possible to enjoy some of the main routes at least. It seems special tour taxis can take you round too, although I didn't do or investigate this.

When you are abroad including your GPS apparatus and your son, it is nice to pick the low amount of geocaches in Uganda on a day without other goals. We travelled from Kampala to Entebbe and had to enter the Botanic Gardens where we found ourselves in a broad area of beautiful greens, spiders and humid areas. Cheap, nice and a must do in a country where doing things without a goal is no goal at all.
