“Miles from beach on a huge hill shaded in evening . Entertainment none existent”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

Stayed here in may and it was in nice setting that's the only thing good really food reasonable . But location was on a very large hill miles from beach complex shaded in evening due to location . When food finished at 9pm each evening prompt . U where encouraged to go to the only place to get drink . The poolside bar . Where the entertainment was haha. It really was none existant a young man called chico very geared up for his own ego than anything . So really believe me chose somewhere closer to flat ground and closer to beach . To sum uo this is a one to two star hotel with nothing happening at night and a long way from anywhere else , although not a nightmare stay its just not for me . Advice book somewhere along sea front plenty of nicer hotels with things to do ,

This hotel has a beautiful setting - on the slope of a hill, overlooking the bay. The location is excellent ( a short walk to the beach ) and the hotel has considerable character: we did not, in the least, envy those staying at some of the extremely luxurious hotels right on the beach. The hotel consists of a multitude of small buildings, each with four rooms, all facing the bay. The view from the balcony of our room was exceptionally beautiful and this is also true for the view from the restaurant; those choosing to sit by one of the "windows" ( no glass panes ), look out onto the stunning bay. Stairs could be a problem for some but we did not find this to be so - all part of the character of the hotel and its setting. Trees, planted with care, are a lovely feature, offering both beauty and shade.
The centre of Marmaris is some distance away but we only went there when going on the several excellent boat trips that can be enjoyed from the port. Icmelar is not far and there are boats trips from there, too. The various boat trips are highly recommended, especially the ones to Dalyan and Hisaronu. Sea swimming during those trips is excellent and the views a feast for the eyes. There are also the Lycian Rock Tombs to admire (Dalyan trip), not to mention the transfer to a smaller boat and and the wonderful river trip through reeds and, on the Hisaronu trip, the ruins of the monastery from which views are exceptionally beautiful.
The hotel rooms had all that we needed - the basics, clean, not "luxurious" but then we ( my wife and I ) see no point in paying high prices for a room in which we sleep during the night. Air conditioning made the room temperature pleasant ( day temperatures during our stay in the second half of August ranged from 35 - 45 degrees ). Water for showers in the mornings could have been a little warmer - no problem in the evenings. The restaurant offered a good range of good food - not "Cordon bleu" but then we were not expecting that! The soups were excellent! Staff in the restaurant were very friendly. We do not expect much in the way of entertainment at such a hotel but activities were arranged every day and those who took part seemed to enjoy them.
The pool is good ( could be a little larger given the number of guests at the hotel) but hotel staff should try to ensure that all sun loungers are not "reserved" very early in the morning and then hardly used! The pool bar offers seating at tables in the shade and overlooks the pool from a raised terrace. As from everywhere at the hotel, the views of the bay are unforgettable.
The hotel has a second, "quiet" pool at another building across the road ( all part of the hotel). We would have been very disappointed if we had had a room at this other building as opposed to the lovely location I have already described.
We had a super holiday staying at this hotel and recommend it very highly. Reading some of the negative comments others have written puzzles me. I suppose it is like theatre productions or books or films - they inspire very different reactions in different people. If you want exceptional luxury and are prepared to pay for it, perhaps this hotel is not for you but I cannot see why anyone would be totally negative about a lovely hotel. The only reservation is ... if you have problems with stairs, avoid this hotel, otherwise - ENJOY!

Room Tip: Avoid the building across teh road which also belongs to the hotel but lacks the character and views...

Ha ha. The people who moan on this site and about this hotel obviously do not know how to have a good time. There is a good mix of British, Dutch and French who all seemed to be enjoying spending time with their families and friends. Every day there was a good atmosphere around the pool, sometimes music played but there were breaks of two hours every day. Unfortunatly the animation team left due to reasons unknown and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Emry and Sin for making my family feel at home. You were definitly missed.

The reviews and official pictures do not do this place justice. Yes there are stairs (and a lift) but you are rewarded with stunning views of the sea and surrounding landscape so I would urge the management to show their hotel off a bit more.

The food was ok - good most days and the kitchen staff were excellent - very friendly and quick to take your empty plates. Some great snacks at the pool bar as well. If you do get a bit bored of the same surroundings try the Apple bar - great food, great people and reasonably priced.

On the downside. I think they should make more of an effort at reception, also watch out for the grumpy manageress. On the day you leave she will take personal pleasure in cutting off your.....wait for it........all - inclusive band and remind you that any food or drink are no longer due to you - even water. : ( This may be a problem if your transfer is late afternoon or evening time. This is my only gripe. So get out there and enjoy it and dont listen to the horror stories from them who cannot be pleased.....oh and see you all next year and keep up the good work.

Room Tip: if you dont like steps ask for the family rooms opposite hotel. But if you dont mind you are rewarde...

We just came back from a very good holiday. We were there last year and the hotel is improved on several points. The food and service improved. The stairs are tough but provide a very nice view and daily exercise.
The animation team - personal friends since last year - was the icing on the cake, and we love to go back next year BUT.... The animation team told us they don't work there anymore. They are fired and are even waiting for payment of last salary!!!
The new "animationteam" are friendly people from the hotel who should better return to their old job as soon as possible. The manager should know by now: a good animation team is priceless and very important for the hotel.
If the old team doesn't return we have to look for an other hotel for next year.

just been informed that the entertainment team have been sacked. i am only 4 days into myholiday and they have been a great laugh so far.it just goes to show that no one around the pool could believe that they are going and everyone wasd hugging them and wishing them goodbye. whoever made the comment that they did not like what they did should get some fun in their lives. they should also go on a holiday that suits their sad lives. Because they have just left because their managers believed the bad comment that got put on here. our group comprimised around 20 people from around the world and we are all gutted that the animation team has left as we have no music at the pool cant go to any partys as we have no one to take us and no show and no pool games. this has ruined our holiday :(

Sadly some people seem to have had a difficult time. I have to say that I have found it quite the opposite and have enjoyed the entertainment by the pool. The hotel has sadly lost the animation team now. I have also enjoyed the hotel overall and the steps that are such an issue were mentioned right from the beginning in the brochure. The food is good and there is quite a lot of variety. I have had a really good holiday it is just really sad that four guys have just left their jobs due to one very scathing comment. Bring on Agadoo!!!! thats what holidays are all about in mine and 15 other people I have spoken to s opinions.

Room Tip: This is a good holiday destination for families

Where do i start,
If you want to take your mrs away for a romantic time with good food . Then DONT bring her here.!! They only good thing is the weather , over 50 degrees.
We arrived at the hotel at about 6pm , and were taken to our room by the hysterical security guard who seemed to think everything that happened was funny . Like when we entered our room atfer climbing up the 30 flights of stairs in 40 degree heat. Only to find out that we had 2 single.beds, a broken fridge, and a broken lock on tthe front door. We could not hide our disappointment, much to the amusement of the security guard. I then went downstairs to reception and complained , the guy at reception was OK , and said he would do what he could. I thought ok I'll give him a couple of hours. So we went to the pool bar for a few hours. Got back at around 11.30 and couldnt get into our room cos of the broken lock on the door. I went down the 30 flights of stairs again ! and told the guy at reception, who sent up the hilarious security guard to open the door , which he did!! I asked him how he did it but he just laughed. I then started to get a bit anoid and told him the room was rubbish. he just laughed!!! so i rang reception and he put me on to owner of the hotel, who told me i would get another room in the morning and then he hung up on me.
We got our room about 11 the next day , we thought great now we can relax. We went down for the so called dinner , which was horrible, it all tasted the same. So did the breakfast, and the tea. Sorry ! we were treated to fried eggs once in our 10 days which was pushing the boat out.
The next few days were pretty much the same, but i started to notice other things like almost all the sets of stairs were all different heights i.e one step was 4 inches the next was 3 inches then upto 6-7 inches on the top step. Also outside the shop they have on site which is well expensive! There is what looks like another set of steps down to the pool, but really it isnt . Its about an 8ft drop to the poolside level. Theres not even a barrier stopping you walking off the edge, mega dangerous!!
As for the "entertainment team" if thats what they call themselves. Mainly consisted of a guy called Chico who played music not fit for kids, really loud around the pool and just went round pushing people in the pool. and in turn got thrown in himself. The music at night was pretty rubbish , the birdy song in german, and agga DOO!!
Then sadly 4 days into our 10 day holiday, due to inconsistancy of all the flights of stairs , my partner slipped on the top step on the way back to the apartment and ended up fracturing her ancle. We called for the on site doctor, who happened to be the same girl that was sat in reception with a stethascope around her neck when we arrived. Who happens to be there every time someone arrives at the hotel, but she doesnt seem to actually do anything. However she arrived on the scene with her stethascope and an ice pack. we then had to limp back to the apartment because there was no wheel chair. This place cateres for disabled people by the way. . .! Anyway we phoned for an ambulance and went to hospital and didnt come out for 2 and a half days. When we eventually got back, we rang our rep Ozan Kaplan , who came round to see us the next day. And he was absoloutly brilliant, he got a wheel chair for free, cos the hotel wanted to charge us 15 lira a day, he also got us a taxi to the airport free of charge. However the wheel chair was useless anyway cos u had to get up and down steps to get where you wanted to go anyway.
Eventually the day before we left, the managment actually came to our apartment to see how we were and offered us the wheel chair for free. but also asked us to write a small letter explaining that it was down to the doctor on site that they didnt realise how serous the incident was because the doctor told them it was a sprain not a break. and the way they put it acoss was if you scratch our back we'll scratch yours, and then they will help us out. In the end we couldnt wait to go home after being stuck in the apartment for 5 days. If it hadnt have been for some of the lovely people we met there, Rachael, Rob and family from sheffeld and the cleaner who did our room who took pity on my partner and put flowers in our room everyday. Thank you to everyone who was there for us xxx

Room Tip: try not to get a room on the top floor. You'll end up tired all week
