If you do have the opportunity to visit Datca, either by car, scooter or by trip, it is a wonderful and proper Turkish place. We travelled by scooter 125cc and enjoyed the ride through the mountains. Takes about 1hr 30 but you can find places to stop on the way. The sea is clear, the area is quiet and there is a fantastic coffee bar on the beach. You won't see adventure sports and will not be sold 3 bags for a £10 but you will enjoy a real turkish kebab !

You should watch sunset in the hills of Knisos. Than try to imagine city walls and temples. Perfect place..

great scenery, very quiet and Turkish, very few tourists. tour the area by car and you get to go at your own pace. We spent 3 days here with a day touring by car and a boat ride, thoroughly enjoyed it

Datca not yet open to tourists in the middle of May - main season does not start until later in June, so few bars, restaurants fully operational, few dolmus/ buses running except to outlying towns and cities over on the Bodrum peninsula. Many beaches still had winter debris needing to be cleared. Loved the laid back, unspoilt town of Datca, but may be spoiled as the new marina development gets underway in the next few years, when tourism will attract lots of 'yachties' trying to pose on their boats , just as they do in Cannes. Visited lots of little bays and beaches whilst travelling on gulet cruise sailing from Marmaris ,around the Datca peninsula and in a taxi whilst visiting Knidos, Palamutbuku and Mesudiye from Datca

Apart from Knidos there is not a lot to visit. But for a quiet break it ticks the boxes. Places such as Bozburun, Datca are pleasant places to say
