We only stopped by for a few drinks and we're attracted by the big menus at the front offering large Efes for 8tl.
As it was our last day I had very few Turkish Lira and we only had a few hours before our transfers so I wanted to pay by card. Before agreeing to have a drink there I was very clear and specific making sure that they could take credit cards, which the greeter enthusiastically said they could.
I had 3 large Efes, my wife a large coke and a Turkish tea offered free on the house and my son had 2 large sprites.
When we asked for the bill it was a complete work of fiction. The 3 large Efes were down at 28tl (not even divisible by 3) instead of the 24 it should have been. The large soft drinks were down as 12tl each instead of the 8tl they were in the menu as being and the Turkish tea that was offered free was down as 10tl even though it was on the menu at 5tl.The bill they gave us was 79tl (if you added up the bill it would have been 74) instead of the 48tl it should have been. When we finally hammered out a price of 50tl they said they couldn't take cards. After much negotiation we went to a shop a few doors down and paid there.
While we were there, there were a few lads arguing over the price of their bill. I just assumed they were drunk English tourists being bad ambassadors. They had obviously been given the same treatment we had. As we left a Danish couple arrived complaining about a disagreement they had had the previous night. We didn't stay to find out what that was about!
Stay clear I definitely don't recommend!
