You get what you pay for. Have to say I really enjoyed it. Staff are brilliant. Rooms are clean food was good. I would go back great value for money.it is a bit far out from centre but I think this only encourages guests to stay at hotel at night which creates a great atmosphere around hotel day and night as you get to know everyone. Thanks seler hotel for a great holiday

I been with my son (14), his friend (14), my daughter in law and her daughter (1) at Seler 30 days.
First we thought; how we can stay there 30 days, because we are from Finland and we didn`t speak english so well. After 1 week we noticed it`s not problem, because everyone there was so nice and friendly. Everyone want help and help us.
One negative point was loud music from the hotel bar, but after 1 week we get accustomed it and baby can sleep well too.
There was very good food and usually we go with baby to kitchen, because she need peaceful place to eat. We didn`t eat usually at the hotel, because we go everyday out but I think everyone understand that and they
I told I get my son and his friend with us and they are very vivid... Anyway nobody didn`t lose mind with them (I think so :D )... Thanks! :)
We miss everyone from Seler <3

I will be honest with this, this is just a 2 star hotel and you really do get what you paid for which is absolutely fine if this is what you want, me and my boyfriend stayed here for a week end of June and we only went on the bed and breakfast option - this is due to myself in particular not really loving the food provided at hotels in these countries and we didn't even eat the breakfast and that is because I need more substantial than what they traditionally have as the Turkish breakfast so I cannot comment on the food, the hotel itself seems to be really good at catering for your typical English tourist, loud, likes to drink lots etc etc and we had to listen to a lot of very loud music every night, very loud karaoke as well! people in the hotel at night were also quite loud but I guess that's more to do with them being drunk! we literally only spend the nights here as were out all day and basically just used this as a place to lay our heads however after staying here it has made us realise that we would prefer to spend a bit more money on a hotel for a bit of luxury, they don't have hair dryers, no tv, they need to get rid of the old air con unit in the room as this could well eliminate a bit of the loud noise at night also, plus I have to say I was very nervous sleeping with a set of plugs right above my head! very odd, but all in all this place is ok if what they provide is your sort of thing or if you literally just want somewhere to lay your head, do not expect anything more than that, I would recommend staying in one of the hotels up near Izhmir which is quite and you get hassled less! also the walk from Marmaris up to Izhmir is lovely but go the by the beach way! also the airport Dalaman is a 2 and a bit bus trip to this hotel! not good

When we arrived we where given a room in B block right above the bar,the rooms are very small you couldn't swing a cat in them, double bed, double wardrope,1 bedside cabinet and a bathroom.
Went down for a drink and said we were not happy with room and were told that we would be moved to C block next day.I asked for a room high up thinking we would not be disturbed, how wrong was i dogs barking till 3 or 4 every morning and 1 night the guy next door came in at 2.35 am(couldn't sleep because of the dogs)then his wife appeared later and started to chap the door lightly calling his name 10 mins later shouting his name and thumping the door other people started talking to her and she went somewhere.Tried to call the desk but the phone didn't work.
Reported all this at reception but every night barking dogs,no sleep.
The room in C block was slightly bigger than B block but my wife purchased cleaning materials and scrubbed the bathroom.

The breakfast was typical continental but with little choice on the other hand the cooked breakfast was really good as was the evening meal which we could only have once as i am allergic to cats and dogs and the 3 dogs and i don't know how many cats just go where they want. While having our meal i glanced down and a spaniel or something was at my feet i called Cem who dragged it away 3 mins later 2 dogs at my feet ,we just quickly finished and left i will say that we both enjoyed our meals although eaten rather quickly.I don't know why they let cats and dogs in food area's and why on earth they let people feed them at the tables.
The senior staff were okay to deal with,Nayla was a big help in getting the rooms sorted and calling up about our transfers. The younger staff seemed more interested in the females than serving anybody else.

If you are buying drinks i would recommend paying cash or keeping note of what you had as a lot errors were made to the hotels benefit.
We never saw too much of the entertainment because the of animals running around the place but the people seemed to enjoy themselves its a loud bar,the drink and food were the average price.
We did see big wild boars and their families twice at our hotel and once walking back to the hotel.

If you need to sleep request the front of C or A block.
On the whole it must be right for some people judging by returning customers but not for us or quite a few other people we spoke to.
You are 5 mins from the bus stop and only 10 to the beach which was handy.

Room Tip: Try for a front room in C or A blocks you might get a sleep barking dogs at the back all night.

Positives -

Staff - were friendly enough and we found them to be trustworthy.

Cleaners - came every day and were very pleasant.

Entertainment - generally created by the staff, with some local acts were frequent for those who like that thing.

Location - The beach was only a 10 minute max walk away with restaurants along the way.

Negatives - Room

The rooms were 'very basic'. They weren't dirty, but they were 'tired' and in need of updating. Our room consisted of a double bed (2 singles locked in place) with bedside cabinets, a small wardrobe, and dressing table. Plugs were on the headboard, and not at the table, making things awkward and uncomfortable. A plug cover came off behind me as I lent against the headboard, which could have been dangerous.

Bathroom was a basic wet room, with shower / toilet / sink. Room steamed up a lot, and toilet seat constantly fell off. As stated, a tired room.

Walls were paper thin, and other guests easily heard. Our last night 'thank heavens' saw new neighbours (most folk there were Scottish or North East) who were very drunk, very loud, and very angry, but that's not the hotels fault, although security was amiss.

No lifts so be aware.

Breakfast - we've had better Turkish breakfasts. It was 'very basic' with no meats or cereals. Just cheese, tomato, cucumber, jam, bread, egg & potato mix, coffee /tea.

Daytime meals - There was a decent selection of food to be ordered throughout the day, and it was ok, but I ordered a chicken Kiev one day and it came raw (everybody makes mistakes I guess) but I didn't eat there again as became paranoid.

Music - I'm sure the hotel would best benefit younger guests. The music was none stop from afternoon until early hours and it became off-putting as there was no escape.

Race track - directly behind the hotel, and although not awful, did disturb any silence or a quiet moment when sat on the balcony.

Dogs / cats / birds - I love animals, but they don't belong in a hotel. Birds nesting in the ceiling of the dining area may be cute, but when they're going to the toilet above you during diner it's not ideal. Nor is the big old dog sat asking for food when you're having an evening meal. Cats are wild, so can't do much about them, but at night, there were at least 3 dogs making use of the sofas and chairs, so not good if you have an allergy.

Price of a pint - 7.50TL average for the area.

I liked the place better once they'd sorted themselves out. When we arrived (end of May) the hotel looked like it was closed. Only 1 of the 3 pools had water, and surrounding areas looked tatty and overgrown. They did a bit of grooming after the first week, but it should have been done in time for the season, so first impressions were poor.

Staff uniforms wouldn't go amiss. The staff work very hard and very long hours, but a big sweaty guy cleaning of a night also has to work the bar area too, so the Ritz it is not, but then the hotel get paid a pittance from On the Beach.

All in all, it was actually not bad for a place to stay and sleep, but it is definitely a case of staff doing their best, and the hotel bearing the strain of tourism.

I've been to Marmaris before, and I think it's probably ok to visit once for the 'wow factor' but the 2nd time you visit you've seen it all before.

Would I recommend this hotel? Yes, despite it's faults, I would, but it annoyed me in so many ways as described.

My photographs look spiteful, but they're just photo's of my own experience. You get what you pay for.

Room Tip: We could see the sea from the rooms at the back of the centre complex of the hotel. Music is until a...
