For everyone who has given this hotel a bad review you obviously expected more than what your accually paid for..The hotel is basic but very clean and trustworthy. As for the 2 sons you have said not left you alone they have learning difficulties, and obviously do not speak english, they are very helpfull and very kind and they genuinally do not mean to be full on as you think they are! The good points, we had a fantastic holiday, as the hotel is quite small you find its a very friendly environment not only the other guests but the staff aswell. They cannot do enough to help. The pools are perfectly fine and cleaned, the entertainment is rather cheesy but the staff make it very enjoyable. The food was very nice an good portions although you did not have a very big choice we still ate there most nights. As for people complaining about noise, you are in a 24hour bar- hotel so what do you expect! You are warned this is a 24 hr hotel when you book the Selar Hotel. You literally on the beach front a 10 min walk to the beach or a cheap taxi to the bar for night life. We are planning on booking into the hotel next year again, was very happy with their services...and definatly looking foward to seeing the staff again and also beethoven there beautiful 16 year old dog (with no teeth lol)

Well this isn't the first time I've stayed at the Seler, but this time when I arrived they were overbooked so I was put in the hotel next-door but one. I have stayed in that one before, but it has declined in the last few years, & being on the ground floor was right next too the Hasinci Bar, so wasn't the best. I also spent the day chasing mozzies around the room & bathroom, but a fly spray from Migros soon sorted them out & then a plugin to keep them at bay. I spent a couple of days in this hotel but went into the Seler for Breakfast, or I would have done if I got up that early.
I was then put on the 7th Floor, with no lifts it is a bit of a hike, but it is away from the bar, which if you go early to bed unlike me, it can be a bonus to be away from the bar as it can be quite lively into the early hours of the morning. But they never put the music on until 12pm and it is turned off at 12am, or at least I think it is but I'm normally in Icmeler at that time. ;0)
The hotel staff are very friendly although they had some new staff this year, But Mehmet & Cem behind the bar are very helpful and have been there a while. Mehmet will help you all the time and has a good grasp of English. They do try to get you to stay in the Hotel as they have some entertainment every night, but as I have been going to Marmaris/Icmeler for quite a few years I tend not to stay in the Hotel, but I did attend the Turkish night last year & it was very good & the food was good also. I did have the English Breakfast and it was good & only 6tl or may have been 6:50tl can't quite remember. Chip Butty was good as well. They do have set menu's for evening food at very reasonable prices & quite a few people were eating at the hotel so I suppose it must have been good?
The rooms are basic, but my bed was comfortable and having a double bed for just me, was just like being at home, the rooms are cleaned every day & changed towels regularly. But if you want to have a longer lie-in, they have card you can put on your door so you are not disturbed, which is a good thing. The bathroom again is a wet room, but I was almost blasted away by the water pressure so ended the 2 weeks very clean. You pay for the air conditioning as an extra & it was so hot this September I almost did, I would imagine you would need it in July & August, this was £30 per week, also the safety deposit boxes are a must and these are extra at £12:50 per week, not that I have heard of anyone being robbed in this hotel, but will give you piece of mind.

Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone, but if you want 5* luxury this hotel is not for you, afterall when paying only £5:50 a night you can't expect the best things. But I will be back in May next year, as the hotel is well run, in a quiet location off the beaten track in Marmaris but within easy reach of Marmaris, Icmeler & the beach. If you want to go to Icmeler just walk to the main road and wait for an Orange Dolmus, this year 2:50 tl, which was less than a pound in September & slightly more in May, but if you go to the stop around 10 past and 40mins past the hour you can catch the local bus service which is only 1:50 tl into Icmeler. This is orange too but slightly larger than a Dolmus & says "Icmeler Beleydisi" on the front.
Just one last thing the hotel is near the local Mosque, so if you don't want to be woken at 5-6 in the morning take a pair of ear plugs, by the call to prayer. Or just come in early in the morning like me after a few beers and you won't hear it anyway ;0)

The worse hotel ever. The ground floor rooms are adjacent to the bar which is open 24hr.One of our party was ill with Cancer and when he asked for the noise to be toned down, he was told no.There was cats everywhere, urinating on the sun beds and a shabby dog which lay accross the bar floor, and was seen one day swimming in childrens pool. The rooms were cleaned every day, but nothing else was. The pools were filthy most of the time and bar staff didn,t want to know us as we were not drinking. We were put in this hotel by the special needs dept. of Thomas Cook as it was wheelchair friendly, but it was not.We won,t ever go back,we even observed a cat in the ice cream cabinet, give you the boak.Every single person who came to this hotel during our 2 weeks filled in a complaint form

Room Tip: The higher the better, but there is NO LIFTS.

I have been going to seler hotel since i was 3 years old and have never had a bad experience. The staff there are very friendly and helpful and try to make every customers stay comfortable and enjoyable. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who will go out of their way to make sure you have a fantastic stay at Seler, there was never a day go by without having a good laugh with the staff. The entertainment on turkish night at the hotel was outstanding, very varied acts and had a very good atmosphere with excellent service of the meal included in the price. The cleaners do a fantastic job of keeping the hotel very clean. The food was of high standard and catered for all needs. my sis took ill whilst being at seler and mehmet was a fantastic help as he rang the doctor and made sure she was comfortable until he arrived. Love all the staff at Seler like family and cant wait to go back and see them all very soon missing them loads.

I went expecting the worst after reading the reviews, but god was i surprised. Yes the hotel is basic but its very clean. The rooms are cleaned everyday and i must say the cleaning staff are very nice people, the pools and pool areas are cleaned all the time. We ate at the hotel alot of the time and found nothing wrong with the food or the way it was cooked. The staff at the hotel are amazing people, My husband and i never stopped laughing the whole holiday. If something isnt to your standards they will bend over backwards to help you. the location is really good for the main street and the next street behind that is the beach front, so not far to walk at all. If its boat or any other trips you want just speak to the staff and they wil sort it out for you so you get picked up from the hotel. My best tip for you is just take five minutes out just to get to know the staff and you will have a laugh the same as we did. Thankyou so much for all the great staff and people we met see ya soon Ant & Marie x x x

Requested low floor due to disability and was given 7th with no lift - looks like only 4 in brochure but some rooms at front and some rooms at back as you climb the stairs. Room very basic but a bit shabby also - tried to shower but water wouldn't go down so gave up - was moving to different hotel that first day anyway so didn't say much to them. Owner was really nice as were bar staff - he gave us lift to other hotel so I can't fault the hospitality. Not 200 meters from beach as stated - didn't go all way down to find out but quite a bit further than that. Breakfast was even more basic with just one cheese - no egg or salami - jams - the normal bread, cucumber and tomato and i think black olives. You really only get what you pay for and if you book it with hotel direct I think it's only £5 a night so it's not fair to expect the Ritz. I know previous people have complained about the cats but they do have a pet cat and dog there - both gorgeous and others are around the place as they are in the rest of Turkey - remember they live their too so don't diss them for it!

Room Tip: If you don't mind being far back from beach and want a cheap budget deal and don't expect th...

We went to the Seler Hotel last year on our first holiday to Turkey. We arrived in the middle of the night after being delayed 12 hours and we hated the place! Everything about it seemed horrible, horrible dirty rooms, horrible people everything!! After getting sleep and waking up the next morning we realised the hotel was fine and the people were so nice! We had a great time at the Seler, you get what you pay for! Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels. The pool area was great as there is two pools so plenty of choice! Close to everything so your within walking distance. Wide selecting menu and the food was nice so we ate here a few times. The staff at the Seler are brilliant and def made our holiday as there was entertainment everynight and the rep was brilliant gave us plenty of info. All in all a great time and would recommend anyone to go here.
