“Can it really get better ?”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

Just got back from a week at the Sunrise, it was our second visit in three years and it didn't disappoint.
Service, cleanliness and location all covered on many previous reviews of this hotel.
The Sunrise is having a total make over during the next six months and looking at the plans on display its going to look contemporary and stylish, with the front/parking area being upgraded along with the foyer and the addition of some modern sculptures.
The wet weather bar and veranda adjacent to the pool area is being developed into a "Pub" and the round pool bar is going to stay, the restaurant area is being extended as is the outside eating area and of course all the bedrooms on the remaining four floors are being are being done as well.
Off course this will potentially no-doubt be reflected in next years prices but as the saying goes "You gets what you pays for".
The weather was very hot for this time of the year and we were treated to some spectacular thunder and lightening shows in the evenings.
PS: Hope the "Upgrade" includes free Wi-Fi because its a gut busting pain having to keep going across the road to Samdams and eat an evening meal just to use theirs (well that's my excuse anyway).

Room Tip: Buy any food you need for the journey home before you get to Dalaman airport, its very expensive (£1...

Excellent hotel. We met people who have stayed there several times. Meals are of a very high standard. Rooms spacious and clean. Good air conditioning in our room and presume all are the same. Swimming pool is 1.5 meters deep through. No shallow end and no steps down inton the water, only two "ladders". Bar is adjacent to the pool. Drinks and snacks reasonably priced.
Ray

Room Tip: All rooms have a balcony. Rooms overlooking the pool and sea get sunshine all day long.

Stayed in this hotel for the last 20 yrs and never been dissapointed, we were there for 11 nights last week in sept and first week in october, weather was fantastic 37 to 43 degrees but i must say its not normally that hot at this time of year, The hotel is having a complete revamp for next year, we have seen the photos and plans and its going to be very very modern throughout,
we asked the manager if they were redoing the pool area because normally i wouldnt have a problem entering the pool but since breaking my leg it became a problem getting in and out of the pool because of the ladder steps and the pool is the same depth all the way around, we asked if maybe they could put steps that gradually go into the pool for folk like myself that struggle, he told us to put it in writing and hes going to look into it so we will have to wait and see, apart from that anouther fantastic holiday at the sunrise.

Just got back from spnding a week at this hotel. We booked a late deal after reading the reviews. We upgraded to 3 nights half board when we arrived and we went to Sandams across the road for the rest of the time. We had a family room with two balconies, one balcony had a view across the main road and the other had a restricted sea view. We was going to ask to move but decided not to as the room was quite large and we had two different views. We didnt find the staff that friendly, they didnt even smile. The only guy that was really friendly was the one who worked as a photographer in the evening and the spa in the day. We had a turkish bath the first day and I would advise everybody to have one, it was great. Not sure if we would go back even though we had a good time there are too many Germans there and the turkish seem to favour them. Lots of people seem to to back there so it is very popular. We had a late flight coming home 2.40 in the morning so we did the Thomson Dalaman late check out trip. Whatever your do do not go on this trip its a total rip off. The first stop was at Dalaman carpets where we were made to sit in this room and be shown a load of carpets and then be told they can deliver them and they take any credit cards. Why we was taken here is beyond me, we were never told this whe booking. Then we went to have the mud bath where the mud was full of stones and grit and this place is an accident waiting to happen. We were then given what was supposed to be lunch at this awful paradise hotel where there were flies on the food and it was just disgusting. then an hour and a half at a place called turtle beach then back to paradise hotel for dinner which was the same as lunch for the starters which was also crawling with flies. There were also dogs roaming around. It was a shambles, if you have a late flight you might as well pay for a late check out room and eat at the hotel. It would be less hassle, we thought it would be a relaxing day but it was not.

stayed for a week 3rd september, spotlessly clean, all staff very friendly...as were lots of other guests especially 3 dutch people.only downside was the balcony in room 100 was tiny only enough room for 2 chairs side by side.went on a fantastic boat trip with Captain Apache, come out of the hotel at the front cross the road and about 50 metres to the left you will find him best boat trip we have ever done.

Just got back yesterday from this hotel & what an amazing hotel this is. We would loved to have tried all the food there, but as it wasn't labelled up we didn't know what we would be eating, it did look amazing & well cooked, fresh food. We were sorry we went B&B only as I looked at the Sunday dinner on offer & that looked fab, but having said that there are plenty of other places to try such as Samdams just across that damed road or the Greasy Spoon just a bit further along, both just as good. Didn't rate The Purple Garden for something to eat, but ok for a drink. Go that little bit further towards the Point Centre or by the marina as it's full of little bars & restaurants for a meal or drinks. The 1 & only thing that lets this hotel down is the rather dangerous road just outside the hotel as there appears to be no speed limit, but as long as you are very, very careful you'll survive! We wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again, depending on prices, etc for next year & we can't wait to see the refurb. As for ALL the staff they work really hard & never faulter with a smile & a greeting & go out of their way to help you whenever & whatever time it is of the day or night, so we would definately recommend this hotel without any hesitation.
