We have only just returned yesterday from a 10 night stay at the Hotel Marbella and are already looking to book again for next year! We stayed half board and upgraded to a sea view room which is a must as the views from the balcony are amazing!
We travelled with Jet2 and the transfer from the airport to the hotel took around 90 minutes including a stop along the way. We arrived just after midnight and were greeted with a complementary bottle of wine, turkish delight and biscuits in the room. The room was absolutely immaculate and beautifully decorated and the shower was better than anything I've used at home! There was a hair dryer in the bathroom which was handy as saved a lot of room and weight in my luggage.
There was a lot to choose from at breakfast including breads, pastries, fresh fruits, jams, cereals, beans, scrambled eggs, pancakes, fruit juices, teas and coffees etc. There was also the option of having fresh omelettes made for you. Dinner consisted of salads, pastas, rice, potatoes, fish and cooked meats. The deserts were also delicious with lots of cakes, pastries, fruits and ice cream.
The location was perfect, just a 30 minute walk to the centre of Marmaris and about an hour to Icmeler. You can also catch a bus, or Dolmus, into either town. Blue bus into Marmaris was just 2TL and orange bus into Icmeler was 2.50TL. There is also the option of travelling via taxi boat. The hotel was in walking distance to a supermarket, little shops with all the necessities and even a McDonald's. A 5/10 minute walk along the beach front at night would get you to more lively bars.
The staff in this hotel are absolutely fantastic and make your stay really enjoyable. They really make an effort to get to know every guest at the hotel and are always happy to help.
Before going we were worried that the pool was going to be quite busy due to its size but it really doesn't need to be any bigger. The pool area was never busy as there is the option to have a free sun bed on the beach. There is also a private jetty with sunbeds on, an ideal location to soak up the sun. The pool side bar had a great variety of cocktails to chose from and we drank here most nights! The music around the hotels was turned off around half 12 every night so your sleep was not disturbed.
There are a lot of excursions that are really worth the money with lots of boat trips, activities and water sports to chose from so there is something for everyone. We also visited the Icmeler market on Wednesday which was an interesting experience, always haggle and if you're firm you will get what you're after for the price you want! I recommend going for a Turkish bath at the beginning of your holiday as it preps your skin for tanning, I'm now left with a lovely glow and healthy skin!! This consisted of sauna, scrub, foam massage and oil massage for 30TL.
We could honestly not think of a single fault with this hotel and can't wait to book again!!
Many thanks to Hotel Marbella for making our holiday really fantastic!!
