I have just returned from the Imperial where we spent a week with friends to celebrate a "significant" birthday. We had a marvellous time. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble and always there to help with a friendly smile. The food was excellent, varied and of hight quality, most of which was cooked in front of us so was always fresh. Some reviewers have mentioned the terrain around the rooms and the many steps which the hillside site requires. We found our 110 steps to our room a bonus as we were encouraged to work off some of the calories we had taken in in solid and liquid forms! There were buggies to take those of lesser stamina! We are not really into holiday entertainment, but we found that the resident duo were versatile and never "in your face" providing pleasant background sounds to much of the day.
One word of warning! We opted to go on the quad bike experience which was totally unsanitised. It was great, thoroughly enjoyable and a challenge for many participants. Book it, but take some old clothes to wear as they may not be much use afterwards!
The birthday night in the a la carte restaurant was excellent and the staff could not have done more to make the celebration go well.
Thank you, Imperial for a great week.

Room Tip: If you have mobility issues try to get a room near to te main reception/pool hub.

Just arrived back from Marmaris early hours of this morning booked through Thomson. (Shame about their rubbish flight times, very exhausting).

Hotel is set in a beautiful hideway, with a beautiful scenery. We stayed for a week definitely didn't want to leave. The grounds are very well kept very tranquil. Pool was freezing on our first day not sure if that had been due to poor weather previously so we spent the rest of our week down at the beach. Beach is very stoney, its a shame that people go down at 6am to grab their beds at the front!!

Room is clean, spacious. Hotel is very hilly, but they have buggys to come and pick you up and drop you off when you need. So not much of a problem. Always had hot water. Safe was 1.5euros per day. We didn't bother with this. we locked our room closing the curtain over the door. we took our money with us around the hotel. Didn't see the point in paying out for a safe. There has to be some trust! Iron was 10euros per day! Bit of a rip off!

Food is cooked fresh in front of you, not sitting there for hours!! Food was very good, deserts were also very good, luckily we only stayed for a week otherwise i'm not sure if we could have kept eating the way we did! There is a bar at the beach with light snacks. As with the pool too. There are entertainment around the pool, live singers/music/pool games. Being as we spent all week at the beach it was much more quieter and relaxing and more of a breeze if you can get down the front. Sea is lovely, clear. Nice to feed the fished with some bread. There is another bar in the relaxation area. Very calm and was nice to sit there one evening to listen to the entertainment from afar.

Staff were all very friendly, always said hello when they walked past. They were very attentive.

We dined in the Turkish A La Carte one evening. Service was slightly slow but food was lovely. Could have spared more on the chips though!

There is a water taxi into Marmaris but only leaves at 9am and returns at 1pm. We wanted to go in the evening as was too hot to walk around during the day. So there is a minibus that picks you up for around 6lira return per person.

Marmaris town is ok.. locals stand outside shops trying to make you buy. There was one good handbag shop opposite the boats (sorry didn't get the name) the handbags were really good copies and real leather but you are looking to pay at least 300euros for a Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Mulberry. In season copies. Was gutted I didn't take enough money as they were spot on and looked very real and not cheap at all!!

Only slight downfall about the hotel is the drinks, the beer tastes so weak and cocktails are already made up. Just taste like fruit juice. Spirits are a little better. Apparently you have to pay for drinks after midnight, didn't stay up that late so not sure about that one! Entertainment in the evening is samey but ok to pass the evening.

Would definitely return at some point.

Beach towels are supplied.

Any questions just message me and ask and I can assist!

Dear LDN018,

Thank you very much for your detailed comment on Trip Advisor. I’m very happy to read that you liked our hotel layout , food and cleaning of our hotel.

Regarding the drinks I am sorry it was not to your liking as generally we receive great feedback about Efes Beer. We are monitoring reserving sunbeds issue very closely as a hotel management team, we have over 500 sunbeds which is more than enough for everyone .

Thank you once more for all your valuable feedback.

My partner and I stayed here the 3rd week in May 2014. We wanted a quick break and this was ideal. This hotel has some of the most stunning views. The food was excellent for an all inclusive, and we watched the food being coooked in front of us fresh every night. People have moaned about the steps but do some research, read the brochures and check out trip advisor before booking and it will not come as a surprise. That said we did not find them an issue. The pool temperature was cold but maintained well. The Thomson reps my need to become a little more knowledgeable but all in all they were always around the hotel and very friendly. The entertainments team we great to there if you wanted activities but not to intrusive. The room are small but keep clean and there was alway hot water for a shower so no complaints. There is a good bus services which leaves the hotel and goes to Marmaris every 20 mins it's easy you just pick it up were it drops you off and it takes you back to the hotel. The night time entertainment was fine (especially the Drifters) not sure what most people expect but we thought it was fine - remember it's not going to be the London Palladium!! We nromally go t o Egypt but tried this for a change I would say the staff were great but get then to interact a little more with the clients instsead of it always being the entertainment staff doing the interacting. We had a great time and will definately be returning. We met some lovely couples and had some fun evenings so thank you Marmaris Imperial for a great holiday. WE'LL BE BACK Andrea & James XX

Thank you very much for such a fantastic and detailed review following your recent stay at Marmaris Imperial.
We were all delighted to know that we were able to fulfill all your holiday expectations with our Couples concept, we are pleased that you both felt so relaxed and recharged after your well deserved holiday. Unfortunately some guests do expect the London Palladium but they are only a tiny percentage!

Thank you to all the staff for another lovely holiday especially Adem at the relax pool bar and Erhan our waiter who remembered us from last year. There has been some really nice changes including Effes beer and Vat 69 Whisky which was a surprise introduction much appreciated by my Husband. The Drifters tribute band were excellent and there were some very good acts in the Amphitheatre. Thank you Oslem for your help when we needed it. Good luck for the big adventure ahead! My advise to anyone thinking of going is to read the brochure and reviews and don't moan about things that cannot be changed! Any problems you might encounter whilst on holiday will be dealt with promptly and with good humour. We will be returning for a Fourth visit in the future. Well done Marmaris Imperial.

We come to Turkey (usually Icmeler) for the schools half term hols and the following week, and as there was only two of us this time, we decided to try Imperial. We have had all inclusive holidays with Thomsons in the past so thought we were on to another 'sure thing'.
Can't fault the surroundings or the food, though more red meat would be good. Lots of variety otherwise, with chefs cooking some as needed, so very fresh. First room we had was beautiful, but smell of damp was horrendous!! Couldn't do anything on the first night as we arrived late, so asked thomsons rep next morning, if he could get us moved. Unfortunately, we had to follow this up ourselves at reception, where they immediately gave us key for another room to look at. This was lovely, so thanks to them, and the cleaning ladies who kept it spotless for us. But now a few grumbles. Secure safe should be free, not appropriate to pay for this when we get there! All inclusive? it's not a minibar in room, just small fridge with water! Other thomsons hols have provided a REAL minibar, with a few alcoholic and soft drinks. Cocktails are not alcoholic, just slush type drinks, as stated by another reviewer, and why are drinks after midnight payable? This isn't all inclusive either!!
Didn't mind the resident duo, but Lou? the voices?.....torturous at times! Other acts were on at the Ampitheatre where there isn't a bar, and you can't take your glass! Only plastic cups allowed, probably because of the steps down to there, so that's fair. Hotel is lovely but certainly not equipped for the bad weather we experienced (and yes, I know they have no control over the weather!) Entertainment had to be brought into the bar area, which probably seats 200 max. Not good when there is about 600 guests!! So lots of people standing on borders, getting soaked, big queues at bar, after having tackled a queue to get into dining area, then queuing for food! We saw tables put outside the gents, in corridor, which people had no choice but to use. It was either this, or go back to your room, as Harmony bar had also been closed....a REAL minibar would have been an asset at this point!
Seriously, Thomsons...some issues should be tackled here, we paid a lot of money for an average, sometimes below par, holiday. Can understand how people like relaxing atmosphere and beautiful surroundings but just a few tweaks would improve the place a hundredfold. Back to Icmeler next year for us!!

Dear Tracy H,
• Thank you very much for taking your valuable time to share your holiday experience on Trip Advisor. We are glad to hear you liked our food, location as well as our maids who works extremely hard to make sure 80.000 square meters grounds are spotlessly clean!
I would like to highlight few points you have mentioned and I believe it will be handy for our future guests who are planning to come to Marmaris Imperial and following our replies from Trip Advisor.
All the points you have raised are actually quite clearly detailed in the Thomson brochure regarding what`s included and what`s not, it`s always a good idea when you are booking a holiday to make sure you read the information available to you when choosing to book or not. This then saves disappointment due to lack of understanding of what you are paying for. The safe boxes are not included in our All Inclusive concept and our minibar is filled on daily basis with water only ,as its clearly advertised on Thompson Brochures as well as social media, drinks again are only advertised until midnight

There are shows in the week at Amphitheatre and glasses should be plastic due to health and safety reasons.

As we are summer resort and due to our unique layout our hotel we are limited with our indoors areas, therefore at beginning of seasons when we get rain we do have a wet weather programme which we always received top marks & comments about being well organized. Harmony bar was only closed again due to the wet weather for a day but breeze bar been re-arranged and all entertainment shows been moved indoors to main restaurant.
I really wish you have informed our Public Relations while you were here about things you were not happy with, please give us the opportunity to resolve any problems or issues you may have or explain the concept and what you have paid for. If we are not able to either resolve the complaint or explain the reasons why we cannot meet your expectations then please feel free to detail everything on Trip Advisor.

Thank you once more for all your feedback.

This was our first holiday in a hotel without children and we loved every minute of it. I would highly recommend staying here.
Staff - We on the whole very friendly and hard working, there was one that was grumpy until he was chatting up some women, he let the side down for everyone else. Everyone was happy to help and went above and beyond.
Cleanliness - The hotel was kept really clean, from top to bottom, there was not a corner left dirty. The ladies that cleaned the rooms were friendly and did a great job.
Entertainment - Was OK, the in-house entertainers were not so great, we enjoyed the Turkish dancing.
Food - Was lovely, I am open to trying new things, I don't see the point of traveling if you are not going to get involved in the local culture. Was spicy, but had chips and bland things for the boring person! Cake table was to die for, that was the reason I gained about 5lb this holiday, but was worth it.
Hotel - The views were amazing, we liked not being in a tower block. Each unit had 2 rooms at the bottom 2 at the top.....walls a bit thin!!! The beach was very relaxing, had the more mature people there so didn't feel self conscious. We went out on the jet skies, the guy running that was fantastic, would always say hi and have a chat if he saw us around the hotel. We used the gym, it was perfect for a hotel gym, only downside was they should get in there and disinfect it a few times a day, as some guest clearly cant wipe their sweat off the machines once they finished with them.
Excursions - This is a Thomson's hotel, however we used an outside company for our excursions, and we really glad we did. The spa day was the same as what Thomson's use, as was the Turkish Night, however a couple staying in the hotel went on the Quads and said it was rubbish, the company we went through used a different place and we had an amazing time, it was a great last day for our holiday. *********HIGHLY RECOMMEND********* http://www.marmarisinfo.com/ *********** You pay a bit extra for transport back to the hotel as this hotel is right out the way, or they will drop you on the dolmus which is around £1 each way and runs every 20min. They are extremely helpful and friendly.

As I said before this is a Thomsons Hotel, I only saw the rep when I poked my head into the welcome meeting, the flight had not entertainment, did have tv on way back but only showing the flight details, didn't even come round with headphones. I haven't flown for some years but the last time I did was easyjet and they were better than Thomsons. The hotel was only fantastic due to the staff working there, all the Thomsons side of it IE entertainment and reps etc, were not up to the standard of all the Turkish staff working there, they went above and beyond. I think Thomsons should be thanking these people for their hard-work.

Last point, they have an area for cats, where they feed them and have scratching posts, however I saw 2 litters of kittens. I do think that if you going to use cats as part of your hotel then you should take some responsibility hand have then de-sexed to stop the cat population getting out of control. I can only assume they are killed off once there are too many.

We would go back but want to try some other couples hotels first.

Room Tip: We thought our room was great, however we did speak to a couple who said the disabled room lower dow...

Dear Kirsty H,

Thank you for writing such a detailed review of your recent stay with us here at Marmaris Imperial. We are delighted to read all your compliments on the facilities, the food , maids and particularly the service provided.

Thank you very much for mentioning our hard working staff, comments like yours make us proud and encourage us to keep on working hard and offering the best of service to our dear guests. I have already shared your experience with the Team Members.

Regarding to cats , yes we have cats in the resort and we look after them very well. They have feeding times as well and most of them have been neutered at the beginning of season . As we are located in lands of marmaris national park , we do get some new member of cats at our resort and we try and follow this closely. We work very closely with the animal rescue shelter in Marmaris who support the overflow of cats.

Thank you for recommending us, we look forward to a future return visit.

Myself and my fiancée have just returned from the Marmaris Imperial hotel and we are missing it already. The hotel is about an hour and a half drive from the airport by bus, after an hour delay we finally arrived at about 2.30am very tired. Thankfully the book in process was nice and easy, with sandwitches provided and a buggy ride to our room. The room was spotless, with a very large bed (actually two put together but had a mattress topper on so couldn't tell) which was quite firm but very comfortable for us. The bathroom was also very clean, with a large shower which was nice and powerful and always had hot water. There were bath robes and slippers provided which we thought was a very nice touch. There was a decent sized LCD TV with a selection of English channels.

One small criticism would be that the walls are very thin, we could hear someone in one of the other rooms snoring so took us a little while to get to sleep on the first night. Thankfully that couple must have gone home the next day! Upon waking up, we were pleasantly surprised to find we had a partial sea view which was a nice bonus. We made our way down to the activity pool (there are two, the activity pool and relax pool) and we then realised just how many steps there are! Now we are fit, in our late thirties/early forties and did not find this an issue. The brochures and online all point this out so we were expecting this and helped walk off all the food and drink we had! Some people have complained about this but as I said, it is in all the brochures and online and they do provide a buggy service to and from the rooms. I read one review saying they drove really fast and carelessly, I did not find that the case and they always drove past with a smile and a wave.

The grounds and hotel buildings are kept amazingly well, I can't praise the staff enough in what they do. Receptions staff were very helpful, the cleaners always did a great job and worked incredibly hard. On our last day, there was a blockage in one of the drains, the maintenance guys were head first down the drain trying to resolve this problem from 12.00 in the afternoon and were still working at 9.00 that night yet they still smiled and said hello!! Service in the restaurant and the bar areas were very good, it was very rare that we had to wait to be served. There was a large selection of food everyday and I would be surprised if anyone could say they could not find something they liked. We are not big drinkers so I can't comment too much on the alcohol served, but the beer was of a good quality and plenty of soft drinks. Like some other people have pointed out, some of the diet drinks often tasted more like non-diet drinks, not sure if we were getting given the wrong ones or not but we did notice this a couple of times. Bottles of water can be taken from lots of fridges all around site and are always stocked up, along with the bottles that are replaced in your rooms on a daily basis.

This was the first couples/adult only hotel we have stayed in and I don't think we could go for anything else again, it was so relaxing and quiet which was just what we were after. There were always plenty of sunbeds, they are situated all over the place, by the pools, by the sea and on the beach. You do get a few people 'reserving' their beds early on but we never had difficulty in getting a bed in a good position.

The entertainment could do with being improved, we generally had a couple of drinks after dinner then went for a relaxing stroll around the grounds before going back to our room instead of staying for the entertainment. The breeze bar was nice for a quieter drink if you did want to stay out.

We went on a couple of trips, the Jeep safari which we would highly recommend and the Dalyan day trip on our last day, which was okay but probably wouldn't do again. The hotel you go to after the trip while you wait for your bus transfer was quite poor, especially after being so spoilt at the Marmaris Imperial. We were also told about some caves up in the mountains past the harbour by another couple, it is quite a walk and to be honest, not worth it! The Thomson reps had not heard of it and we were not surprised!

This was our first trip to Turkey, and I suspect not our last. If we do go back, we will definitely be staying at the Marmaris Imperial again, one of our favourite hotels!
