Myself and two others stayed at BlueBay Platinum from 18th October - 26th October for one week, near the end of the season and had the most enjoyable stay! From the water features and bubbles in reception, to the horse in the bar and the seashell light-up display outside your door, the small modern touches at this hotel add up to a perfect stay.
We shared a two bedroom apartment which was very spacious and always spotlessly clean. The décor is modern and well furnished. The beds are very comfy, clean bedding and towels each day. The bathroom facilities - especially the shower are brilliant. The room even has a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities, which is an added bonus. Our room was situated at the front of the hotel, we had a large balcony which attracted the sun all day - brilliant as a sun worshipper as the pool unfortunately does not get this all day, so our room couldn't have been more perfect. Yes the hotel does look out on to a road but you can not hear a thing at night!
Visiting near the end of season the poolside was rather quiet, but we quite liked this! We were able to get sunbeds easily every day, although the sun doesn't stay in one spot so we did have to keep moving our loungers to make the most out of the day. The larger pool attracts sun for the best part of the day, the smaller pool is better towards the end of the day. The waterslides in the smaller pool were brilliant, we are 21 and thoroughly enjoyed these! BlueBay does have it's own private beach where sunbeds are free of charge, just walk round the back of the hotel and across the 'wasteland' to reach it. Drinks can be brought to you on your sunloungers but be warned, these are not free of charge.
Food and Drink:
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Midnight Soup are all served in the main restaurant. You cannot fault the food, there is something for everyone and everything is beautiful and freshly prepared. On our first night the waiters were very attentive and delivered drinks to our table, after that they didn't seem too interested but it's easy enough to go to the bar and get your own drinks. The pool bar serves food throughout the day which is also delicious, burgers, kebabs, chips, lovely if you don't want to leave the sun and can just enjoy at a table by the pool.
The pool bar and bar inside both offered a good range of drinks, always strong and not weakened alcohol. However the one thing I will say is how RUDE the bar staff are, and I know I am not the first to say it. It is such a shame as everything about the hotel is perfect apart from them.
I know it was coming to the end of season during our stay, but there didn't seem to be anything going on in the hotel. The entertainment team constantly moaned that they wanted to go home, that they were tired and that we should have come in September when the hotel was more lively. They did put on a show at night which was at best OK but nothing occurred in the day. Chicko however was fantastic, always lively, animated and brilliant with guests of all ages and nationalities! The entertainment team do work long hours so it's appreciated that they take guests to bar street every night on a free bus, we did this a few times and really enjoyed ourselves, definitely go with them for a good night out!
The hotel is amongst some of the finer hotels in Marmaris, on the beach front, near to shops, bars and restaurants, everything you need on the doorstep. Bar Street is not far and is free if you go with the entertainment staff, and I believe not too much if you wanted to take a taxi. Couldn't have asked for a better situated hotel.
A man called Chris came in to the hotel to advertise Scuba Diving, which we booked with him for a very good price. He then sent us across the road to Frank who did a Jeep Safari and Quad Biking at very low prices! Everything in Turkey is so cheap, especially this time of year! DO NOT book trips with your reps, go to one of these stalls and get a good deal at a low price. Scuba Diving is such an experience, I would recommend this to anyone! The Jeep Safari was the funniest day of our holiday, at such cheap prices do as much as you can while in Turkey!
Overall this hotel is beautiful, and it is a pleasure to say to other travellers that you have stayed here. From the second you walk in you are made to feel welcome. Our holiday was fantastic and we will definitely be coming back to stay at BlueBay Platinum and will recommend others to do so too.
