“Nice Hotel, Food Ok, Staff poor!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Stayed at the Ideal Prime Beach in May 2012. Hotel lovely & clean Food ok, but it took the waiters for every to clean tablets and being 2 drinks at Breakfast, lunch & Dinner. bar staff very slow in taking drink orders and serving them. The singers in the upstair bar were good, but did sign the same songs every other night which was a bit of a pain for us as we stayed here for 11 nights. We had a nice relaxing time it was just let down by the staff, we did not use the pool as not engouh sun beds, so used the jetty on the beach but had to be up very early to get a bed!

This was our first visit to Turkey, me and my partner can say where they had us put, the accomadation near the foyer was very noisy and even though we were on the third floor, we found it very loud and disruptive. Being located very near to the nightclub, it was very annoying and we found it unpleasant. The housekeeping and the maintainence was not up to the 5* Standard they were supposed to have presented and we found it not good and the food was "Average" and "Okay".
Note (BEWARE):
When you are on the last day of any holiday, make sure you know FULL information about any excursion you paying for and going on (we paid extra for this) and make sure that the hotel which you are allocated to, is matching to the standard hotel you excpect from them and we discovered that we was being allocated to a B&B, not provided with any towels, TV, heat ect.. We were NOT happy and was disapointed!
Just make sure you are not being conned or being decieved by anyone.. Thanks

Room Tip: Higher floors are much better.

Thank you for your review posted on the tripadvisor website.
I am sorry to read that the Hotel did not exceed your expectations and would like to take the opportunity to comment on the concerns you have raised. Guest feedback is important to us especially when given whilst still in the Hotel as this enables to resolve concerns that are raised. This can be done at Reception, Customer Services (located next to Reception) or with the Resort Rep who visits on a daily basis. The Hotel understands that sleep comfort is important to some guests and room changes can be requested and fulfilled if alternative rooms are available. The Hotel also has an International Guest Base and therefore the 14 day planned menus reflect this as well as proudly presenting Turkish Cuisine, the Hotel also hosts 2 A La Carte Restaurants, one being Turkish and the other Mexican. The Hotel has been awarded a 5* rating by the Turkish Ministry of Tourism, indicative to the country however Thomas Cook has awarded a Universal Rating of 4*+ as described in the Thomas Cook Brochure. I do hope that the information provided satisfies your review and I hope that we will be able to welcome you again in the future. Thank you for choosing Ideal Prime Beach for your first holiday experience in Turkey.

First of all would like to say it was our honeymoon so i let travel agency know and they said they passed the message to the hotel but unfortunately nothing has been arranged. Dont know whose foult it was. We got the room with inland view and bad thing about it the balcony was small and had concrete barrier which can affect ur view while sitting :) Looking from thhe road u can notice that only 8 balconies r like that but anyway we upgraded to sea view after one night and we did not regret it however the palm trees r very tall and u can see only small part of the sea.
Rooms r nice, small but enough for a couple. Air comdition working perfectly, little fridge filled with water and some juices on arrival. Cant say bad thing about bathroom too.
Hotel itself is beautiful and surrandings as well. Its perfectly located just between centre of Marmaris and Icmeler. In plus fact that safety deposit box, lounge wi - fi and all hotel facilitiea such us indoor swimming pool and sauna are free. There is also indoor jaccuzii but working rarely.
There is one main restaurant U have to wait in the cue to grab ur food for evening meal. Also not enough waiters in the evening. Some of them prefer to chat nice girls rather than serve you. Food is quiet good but not a huge choice especially meatwise. From 12 till 16 u can use snack bar if hungry. They serve chips, burgers, nuggets, pizzas and kebabs as well as some salads ... everyday same. Some number of bars where they serve drinks but forget about pinacolada or something like that. Bear and some basic coctails thats what u get. Pepsi sometimes taste like pepsi the other time taste like watered pepsi. Juices also watered. Very very good cofee.
Two swimming pools one with water slides. Two piers good for sunbathing. Beach is rocky so make sure u have ur swimming shoes with u.
Overall hotel very nice but there r bits and bobs i would improve making the place perfect for the holiday.

I would like to firstly congratulate you on your marriage and say that I am happy to read that overall you have enjoyed your honeymoon with us from the upgraded sea view room and the free facilities offered in them to the location and decor of the Hotel. All guest concerns regarding service in the restaurants can be fed back immediately to the Service Manager who is present throughout every meal service or with Customer Services who have direct contact with the Department Managers, concerns that are raised are usually resolved to the guests` satisfaction.
I hope that we will be able to welcome you both again in the future, maybe to celebrate an anniversary and would also like to thank you for choosing Ideal Prime Beach for your celebratory holiday.

I stayed here with my Son in August and was excited about the week based on the brochure.

I really have mixed reviews about the Hotel and so want to share these with other travellers.

Ok, the good stuff first. The food is great! A wide choice of food available across the different Restaurants and very well presented. The Hotel was refurbished in 2011 and you can see the quality in the lobby and bedrooms as well as the Restaurants. The children's water slides are really good fun and conveniently situated in the complex without the need to walk very far with little ones.

Unlike a lot of so called all inclusive hotels these days, it really is! There is a great choice and there is no problem getting what you need. The bedrooms were cleaned well every day and the standard of the bathrooms and TV channels was good.

Cleanliness of the resort overall is very good and water quality in the pools was also really good.

Ok, the not so good stuff that you need to be mindful of. The pools are not big and there is no where near enough sun loungers for the number of guest rooms when the hotel is running at full capacity. Although the Hotel is called "prime beach" the beach is anything but. The Hotel is situated on a main road or strip and the sea front is separated by a public pathway that connects the two towns and is a generally very busy.

The beach is tiny, very narrow and incredibly over crowded with beds touching at every corner and no space to walk between or relax. Yet again, if you are not up at a seriously early hour, you will be left with no where to sit, and I mean no where! The brochure images are very misleading!

I love Turkey, but would not go again, unless there was a seriously great deal that would make you overlook the issues.

Room Tip: Get up early if you want a spot by the pool or in the sun.

I am happy to read that you and your son enjoyed your holiday with us and would like to thank you for your kind comments regarding the wide variety of food served within the Hotel, your appreciation of the decor of the Hotel and of the House-Keeping Team who provide the room maid service. I am also happy to read that your son has enjoyed his time in the pool and on the slides, we do have over 1200 sunbeds in and around the Hotel grounds, pools, on the beach and also the private jetty for our guests to use and also ask guests for their consideration when using them however on occasion the sunbeds do have to be monitored by the personel in Customer Services if the concern is reported to them.

Arrived late evening on 11 October for 7 nights. Checkin dealt with promptly and attentively, bell boy took luggage to rooms, slight hiccup with one room given double instead of twin but supplied camp bed that night and changed rooms first thing next day. Hotel very impressive, choice of three swimming pools, fantastic spa facilities, do go for the deluxe package, 5-6 treatments included, 2hours plus of pampering absolute bliss, very cost effective, even includes full turkish bath. Food excellent, changes everday, one of our party vegeterian and she had great choices. Separate patisserie open in the afternoons and if you have a sweet tooth it's to die for. Rooms cleaned daily, fresh towels, large bottle of water daily. Beach towels free, lovely private beach with sunbeds and umbrellas.Found all staff friendly. Local buses frequent and cheap for trips into Marmaris/Icemeler. Just left to say couldn't have asked for anything better, would recommend this hotel to anyone and have actually given details to many work colleagues. I would definately return.

Arrived in early hours Fri 5/10, On arrival the check in was very good, with cases taken to our room and the bell boy explaining everything. Hotel very impressive, food plenty of choice in restaurant although snack bar very repetative but all in all always something for everyone, cakes very good as my 7 yr old son will tell you. Room 2241 was very good and not too high a floor overlooking the kids pool and slides. Most bar staff were cheerie but there is always one or two grumpy ones. Would definately recommend this hotel. Beach towels available every day. Rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels and always a fresh bottle of water left. The hairdresser guy is a lovely chap and would recommend him too. The views are lovely and during our second week the hotel was quieter which was good. Some foreign people but majority we met were Scottish/English. As you are not in the centre of Marmaris the area can be nice and quiet, some bars, restaurants and shops. Would also recommend as you can get a bit fed up eating in the hotel, just outside front of hotel and cross road on left hand side Golden River Restaurant Cafe & Bar, the staff were very friendly and nice. My son was sick one night on the street and they ran over to make sure we were okay and took us in to get Kyle cleaned up. They have the best food on the strip of road. Anyway a few days later it turned out Kyle had chicken pox but didn't spoil his holiday too much just a shame he had to keep out of pool for the last 3 days. All in all the hotel is clean and probably the biggest hotel i that certain part of Marmaris. Only complaint would be watch some of the bar staff as they sometimes used their hands to put ice in glasses. But as the glasses come out from dishwasher warm you really need the ice but be careful.

Room Tip: For a low floor room 2241 beside pool and slides. Although the sea views looked very nice. We had t...

Just returned from a 11 night stay here and whilst overall the hotel is good, the dining room and a few other issues make the the stay average.

ROOM: Was small but nice. Cleaned every day and pleanty of room for two. Every thing worked fine and the bath room was big enough.

POOL: Forget it. Unless you get up early enough (I'm talking pre 0700) don't waste your time. Written in the lifts and other places were the rules about sun beds. This was never enforced the whole time I was there. The only time I used the pool bar area two rather camp men were running around shouting aqua gym, they the turned up the music so loud that me and the better half had to leave. Also one bar man that was all ways at the pool bar was extremely helpful and very nice...if you were female. To my self he never gave a crap I was there and all most seemed to be annoyed that I was disturbing his perv time by asking for a drink. Also hitting on my other half with me there? Not cool at all.

BEACH: All ways space on the beach, was the best part of the hotel. Was shelterd and the sea was lovely, clear as day and very cool when the weather was as hot as it was. Pleanty of water activities around but it was as intruding as some places due to the distance from the beach they could be carried out. My only bits of advice are, take your bottled waster to the beach. The small plastic cups will not hydrate you in the heat and it gets annoying having to keep going back for more drinks. Also whilst the food is nice on the beach the woman making it is unbelievably slow.

ENTERTAINMENT: Can't really comment as I didn't really go on holiday for this.

FOOD: Well where to start. If you fancy queuing every day for bland frozen rubbish this is the pace for you. I'm sure what the manager responds with is true, but the food is still rubbish. To be honest I gave up after the 3rd day and just grabbed what ever I could. How many times can you have chips and spag bol? We ended eating out at Samdam down the road a few times and this is well worth a visit. Also the snack bar shut in the evenings due to weather conditions?!? This really let the holiday down and has put me off ever returning.

The hotel has some great points about it. But it needs a serious look at the whole food and dining side of things.

Guest feedback is important to us especially when given whilst still in the Hotel as this then gives us the opportunity to resolve any concerns that guests may have, this can be done at Customer Services, located next to the Reception Desk as the personnel here have direct contact with all Department Managers including the Service Manager, the Resort Rep also visits on a daily basis and liases with Customer Services to help resolve any concerns that guests may have. The ladies here also monitor sunbeds if an issue is raised and will also explain that as the the Hotel has an International Guest Base, the menus that are provided will reflect this as well as presenting Turkish Cuisine.
