“Five Star or Fastfood outlet”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

having just come bake from the Ideal Prime Beach to say this is a five star hotel is a joke Yes the location is very good but the hotel is not never before have i been in a five star hotel where the chilly sauce comes in a squeeze plastic bottle, you get a wooden stick to stir your coffee and Brussels sprouts for breakfast the overall quality of food is very poor very limited choice and very repetitive i asked for a coffee after my evening meal and was told by the waiter to get it myself from the machine in the corner. the dining room was poorly organised leading to 15 minute queues at the hot food stations.
both the bar staff and the waiter gave the impression they did not care any more
The snack bar also was very poor the chicken nuggets and kofte kebabs where inedible the best thing in the snack bar was the donner & chicken Kebabs but its not a good sign when you in a five star hotel and all you can find to eat is donner meat and chips

Room Tip: in another Hotel

Thank you for your review submitted to the tripadvisor website.
Guest feedback is important to us especially when given whilst still in the resort as this gives the Hotel the opportunity to resolve any concerns that guests may have. This can be given to the resort rep who visits on a daily basis or direct to the Hotel at the Customer Service Office located next to the Reception Desk, concerns logged here are usually resolved to the guests satisfaction and these can range from explaining the 5* rating which has been awarded to the Hotel by the Turkish Ministry of Tourism and that as advertised in the Thomas Cook brochure, the Universal Rating that has been awarded to the Hotel by Thomas Cook is a 4*+.
The Hotel has an International Guest base and the 14 day planned menu reflects this as well as proudly presenting Turkish Cuisine, unfortunately at the most busy periods of meal services the show grills can become busy as the meat dishes are freshly cooked, an alternative to the snack bar which serves pasta, sauce, chips, 2 choices of doner meat, freshly cooked pizza, burgers, kofte, enjoys a salad range and fresh fruit is the lunch restaurant which serves soup, several meat options, several poultry options as well as fish options, freshly cooked vegetables, pasta and sauces and also offers a large salad selection, dessert selection and fresh fruit.
With the information provided I do hope that this satisfies your review and that we will be able to welcome you again in the future. Thank you for choosing Ideal Prime Beach for your holiday.

I just came back from 1 week of stay at this hotel. Looked great as area and as whole, but as soon as we stepped in the hotel room things were not as we thought. Every 5 star hotel should have at least shampoo, headcap, shoe-polish, but all we had in the bathroom were soapgel for hands. A/C - c'moooon! Universal remote control that stopped working. Rooms were with dirty floor and the worst was that I found out that on our check-out i left my wallet in my bag in the room for 20 minutes for my whole stay and my wallet was empty - someone stole my cash (housekeepers are believed to have done this) and I realized this in the plane - well maybe my fault, but be careful. Also someone wrote that waiters wanted from us to go and take them food from the buffet.. that is true! they begged us for food.. AS WHOLE WAITERS AND BARMEN = AWFULLY RUDE. The whole hotel has a lot of restrictions and I felt really not welcome and everyone there not friendly.. Bad Animation! Lunch and Dinner - awful.. food is good but there is less meat, big rows of people and chefs prepared food very slow by purpose i believe. Good deserts BTW.. The whole hotel's idea here was to be as much as economical and cheap as possible.. the wanted to save money from all the things that a real 5 star hotel has.. only good thing is the location and the design of the hotel..
PS: They have artificial sounds of grasshoppers.. :D

Thank you for your review posted on the tripadvisor website.
Guest feedback is important to us especially when given whilst in the Hotel as this gives us the opportunity to address any concerns that guests may have. This can be done through Customer Services who record all concerns and is located next to Reception, usually resolving concerns to the guests satisfaction from House-keeping and Technical services to Service received and facilities provided. I would therefore like to comment on the concerns you have now expressed firstly, I do not accept slander of any staff within the Hotel on matters unrecorded and unproven especially as the Hotel provides free safes for guests to use. As detailed in the holiday brochure, the animation provided is of an occasional nature comprising of games, competitions and shows and as the Hotel has an International guest base, the team endeavour to provide activites for all guests to participate in from killer pool, water polo, darts, pentanque, beach volleyball, salsa dance lessons to name but a few, all activities and locations are advertised on the animation board within the Hotel grounds.
The Hotel has been awarded 5* by the Ministry of Turkish Tourism and as explained in the holiday brochure, tend to give a fair impression of relative standards within the country, however different countries have different standards and therefore not to assume that a 5* rated hotel in one country is equivalent to a 5* rated hotel in another.
I do hope that with the information provided this satsifies your review and that we will be able to welcome you again in the future. Thank you for choosing Ideal Prime Beach for your holiday.

my stay at this hotel was terrible, the food was disgusting pizza with carrotts and peas on it every day was the same food frozen chips frozen burgers kebebs frozen chicken nuggets if i wanted this sort of food i would have went to a lower rated hotel i expected more quality of food for the money i paid for this hotel. the towels the maid left in our room had feaces on them complained to manage ment they did nothing, A/C kept breaking down , no place to put clothes lived out of a suit case for 10 days, no room to swing a cat in the room we had and it was supposed to b a family room that we paid extra for. no entertainment for children a disco from 2100 to 2130 then there was a comedian on i went to get children and i was appalled at what i saw there was three people on stage two men and a woman , the woman sitting on top of the man you can guess the rest they allowed children in to see that then to top it all of my family was attacked by a bulgarian family it was disgusting i would not recomend that anyone visit this hotel, yes lovely surroundings but they dont show u behind the scenes as such. the only good thing was the pool and i did not pay for to sit at a pool. the beds were like a board a pull out bed sette that was the bed in the family room a toilet that you vould hardly move in a shower that you had to stand in one possition to get washed never been in a hotel like it in my lfe, faulty towers would have had a better rating than this. hotel reception staff very rude waiters asking you to get them food because they were starving i felt so sorry for them. hotel manage ment not willing to listen to you. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE , all the reviews i have read i dont think they r telling the truth as all i heard when i was there was people complaing that they had to go out and eat because the food was so bad i hope anyone that was at the hotel from the 28th sept can b truthful about there review . and dont let other people throw away hard working money on a place like that. like that

Thank you for your review posted on the tripadvisor website.
Guest feedback is important to us and I am sorry to read that the Hotel has not exceeded your expectations in respect of the food served within the restaurants, snack bar and patisserie, technical service and house-keeping, room size and Hotel facilities. I would therefore like to take this opportunity to comment on these concerns, firstly stating that the Hotel operates a Customer Service Department located next to Reception, the personnel here log all concerns and have direct links to all Department Managers ranging from Technical Services who deal with the air-conditioning, House-keeping who deal with the room maid service and Service Manager. The personnel here also liase on a daily basis with the Resort Reps and concerns that are raised are usually resolved to the guests satisfaction.
As you will be aware the Hotel has an International guest base and the 14 day planned menu reflects this, the breakfast buffet serves breads for toasting, jams, honeys and spreads, a variety of cereals, fresh and dried fruits and a selection of flavoured and natural yoghurts, continental meats and cheeses are available as well as eggs (boiled, scrambled and fried), grilled tomatoes, beans and turkish sausage, bacon is available twice weekly, danish pastries are also served. The lunch restaurant serves soup, 2 meat selections, 2 poultry selections and a fish choice as well as a range of vegetables, pasta and sauce and a salad range. Desserts including fresh fruit is also served alternatively, the snack bar has a choice of pasta and sauces, freshly cooked pizzas, burgers and chips as well as turkish speciality breads, a small salad range and fruit. The beach booth has jacket potatoes and sandwiches as an option. The evening restaurant serves 4 meat choices, 4 poultry choices and 2 fish choices as well as a choice of soups. A show grill is available as well as a diet or plain food selection which includes steamed or boiled meat\fish and vegetables. A full salad range and dessert range is also available. The patisserie serves approximately 30 different types of cakes and cookies and sandwiches are also available from the lobby bar at midnight. Of course as the speciality grills and meats are freshly cooked, there can be on occasion, a delay as the food is cooked.
The Hotel does not advertise a kids club in the Thomas Cook or does it operate a Thomas Cook Kidsworld however the animation team do provide a childrens activity within their daily programme as well as the kids mini disco. I do hope that the information provided satisfies your review and that we will be able to welcome you and family once again. Thank you for choosing Ideal Prime Beach for your holiday.

I visited this hotel last year with my mum dad and partner and had a ball the food was amazing the staff were friendly and the hotel was absolutely stunning. this was my mum and dads first time in Turkey and they loved it we didnt want to leave. We came home and booked up for this year the same as last time one week all inclusive. We couldnt wait to go. When we arrived at the hotel we couldnt wait to get to our room as we had paid an extra £40 for a sea view!! total dissapointment we were facing on to the snack bar with a huge palm tree in front of us no sea to be seen!!. Once unpacked we went to breakfast there was nothing for me to eat so needless to say i had no breakfasts the whole holiday, on the first night i had to go out with the hotel for my dinner as there was nothing suitable for vegetarians! I let it go the first night as i thought it might just be that one night? Wrong I had to eat out every night as did the rest of my family!! on one occassion we had to wait 20 mins to be given cutlery and have our tablecloth changed which in the end they turned over so the dirty side was underneath!! this would never have been the case the previous year. My mum complained to the holiday rep as did a few other people on the same night and she was very unhelpfull and did not take on board what was being said and nothing was done about any of our complaints.Majority of the staff were very unpleasant and I could not believe i recommended this hotel to my friends! I can safely say i will not visit this hotel again but will definately visit Marmaris as it is beautiful and the locals are lovely! total let down and what a waste of paying all inclusive for! definatley not worth 5 *

Guest feedback is important to us especially when given whilst still in the Hotel as this gives us the opportunity to resolve any concerns that guests may have. The Hotel operates a Customer Service facility whose personnel have direct contact with all Department Managers and all concerns are also recorded here for follow-up these can range from housekeeping and technical service issues to service received from staff within the Hotel. The Hotel has an International guest base and the planned menus reflect this as well as proudly presenting Turkish Cuisine and also catering for many guests with alternative dietary needs. Had two fantastic weeks at this hotel in June, and recommended it to friends whom came with us at the end of September. Although we had a fantastic time, there were some changes made on our second visit. We had lovely rooms but on 1st October the start of the 'winter season' began and also some changes. firstly the restaurant closed half an hour early but this was not a problem to us, as we rarely ate there in the evening to avoid the long queques. This may seem trivual to some people but there were no teaspoons only wooden sticks the like you get in Mcdonalds or Starbucks, also they had soft boiled eggs and no way of eating them without a teaspoon, not 5* service. In June, when the restaurant closed at 10 oclock the snack bar and the pattiserie opened, these opened later and closed earlier, and later in the day you could get ice cream and water melen. In the winter season this was changed also. The singer in the upstairs bar finished after our first week, so there was no entertainment there, and they had 3 musisians playing in the restaurant, also this stopped. The quality of the food was also not as good.

The al a carte was good, but we only got to sample one of these, I think if you have a two week stay you should have the chance to visit the two of them.

Whenever we asked staff about the changes they just said it was because it was now the 'winter season'. We paid the same price in September as we did in June, and expected the same facilities. And also to some guests this was there main 'summer holiday'. But this did not put us off and hope to return again next year.

We spent a week at the Ideal Prime Beach hotel at the end of September 2012. I have tried to sum up the good and the bad points below along with some helpful tips:

The good

On arrival the hotel is very impressive. The reception area looks beautiful and the hotel looks especially good at night with all the coloured lights and pool lights.

Check in was easy and someone showed us to our room and showed us how the safe and air conditioning worked.

The bathroom in the room was nice and we never had any problems with the shower, it was always hot and high pressure. There was Sky TV in the rooms with all the sports channels and English entertainment channels.

On the second day we booked a Turkish Spa within the hotel and it was really brilliant and great value for money. For £45 we had a full Turkish spa: exfoliation, full body mud mask, bubble massage, full body massage with bronzing oil, facial, fish feet treatment and sauna. I would really recommend this.

The location of the hotel was really good. It is right on the beach and about an hour walk to Marmaris and an hour walk to Ichmeler. The walks are along a pretty promenade which is very safe even late at night, there are also buses which pick up and drop off wherever you want for less than £1 per person which run every few minutes all day.

During there day there was a patisserie, which had a large selection of cakes and cookies which were very nice.

The bad

The main complaint about the bedroom was that there was no storage for clothes. There was only 6 coat hangers and no chest of draws. This meant we had to live out of our suitcases for a week which was very annoying. Also there was only one chair in the room which seems a little sparse for two people. It seemed like they had cut corners to save money on the furniture. We also had very load music from the local bar at night until about 1am 4 out of the 7 nights we were there.

There was a large variety of food, but I have to say it was not 5* standard more like 3*. There was a lot of salad and vegetables, but the meat selection was very poor and often consisted of processed food and stews. There were also large queues for the meat so it often took ten minutes to queue for food. The service in the restaurant was also poor sometimes 20 minutes had passed since we ordered a drink and no drink had arrived so we ended up going up to get our own.

The drinks were also poor in particular the cocktails, of which they only did two and they were both horrible. The beers and spirits were local brands and were ok but again below what was expected for 5*.

The pool was nice, but we never did manage to get a sunbed by the pool, although there was always a sunbed by the sea even though they were quite crammed in.

A main complaint for me was the smoke everywhere. There did not seem to be any clear separation of smoking and non-smoking areas in the bar and restaurants and at times it became over powering especially for a non-smoking person.

Helpful tips

If you have a late check-out you can arrange with the hotel to keep your room till 5pm or 11pm for an extra charge of about £45.

The exchange rate at the hotel was actually better than in English post offices etc. In the hotel we got 2.88 TL to the £1, so it is worth getting money out when you are there.

In Marmaris there is a bar called castle bar and although the drinks are expensive, it is the highest point in the town and the views are spectacular. Well worth a trip.

The restaurant asked you to not wear shorts of flip flops in the evening, so it’s a good idea to take longer trousers, shoes etc.

I would however like to say that although this hotel wasnt perfect and we would not go back again, compared to the other hotels that we walked passed, it looks nicer from the front, has a better atmosphere and looks like it has better facilities.

Thank you for submitting your review on the tripadvisor website.
I would like to thank you for your kind comments regarding the decor of the Hotel, your efficient check-in at Reception and of the bell-boy service provided. Also of the free facilities provided in the rooms of free safes, individually controlled air-conditioning, free mini-bar on arrival only, free skysports channels. I am happy to read that you have enjoyed the location of the Hotel, directly on the beach front and also the Budha Spa Experience. I would like to take this opportunity to address the concerns that you have raised by mentioning here that the Hotel has a Customer Service Department which is open 14 hours every day and is located next to Reception, the personnel here have direct access to all other departments and concerns raised here are usually resolved to the guests` satisfaction from extra hangars being provided for rooms to chairs from housekeeping, the Service Manager in the Restaurants take very seriously concerns that are raised to them personally as they are always in attendance at service times or concerns that are raised to them by Customer Services. Explanations of Turkish Culture and Laws can also be explained here for example under Turkish Law, No Smoking is permitted inside enclosed public places however is permitted outside, all noise must be kept to a minimum from music, televisions etc from all bars and restaurants from midnight and this is heavily policed by the Authorities. The 5* rating proudly advertised at Reception has been awarded by the Ministry of Turkish Tourism however under the guidelines in the Thomas Cook brochure of ratings systems, the Hotel has been awarded a 4*+, all menus provided are to cater for the many nationalites of guests in residence at the Hotel as well as proudly presenting Turkish Cuisine and that at times, there may be queues for all show cooking as the meat is being freshly cooked.
With the information provided, I do hope this satisfies your review and that we will be able to welcome you again in the future. Thank you for choosing Ideal Prime Beach for your holiday.

I booked this hotel as a last minute deal as recomended by the travel agent and I was not disapppointed. The hotel has a spa and you are greeted on day one to visit the facilities and I would advise anyone to go, the treatments are fantastic and great value for money, start your holiday with the deluxe package and you will feel great and tan well. The room was clean and modern with a great view over the bay, there was very little storage so you may need to take a few extra hangers. The pools are clean and large but get down early to get a bed, I found that the beach had the best all day sun and is reserved for the hotel guests only, and the pool is only a minute walk back. The restaurant has plenty of seating, prime time is between about 7.30 to 8.30 so you may not get a table outside at this time. There was a good choice of food but may not suit all tastes so I did go out twice for a meal for a change and there are some great places to eat nearby at a good price. At peak times the restaurant is busy and you may have to queue for food or wait to get a drink but hey you are on holiday so relax.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view as these have a great view and are away from any noise. You also can soak up the...
