Hotel Green Palm
Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

We arrived on a late-night flight that got us in about 4 in the morning. We were given a very clean and tidy room. Whole hotel is immaculately cleaned and the staff are lovely.

Breakfast is a traditional Turkish breakfast but you can upgrade to a full English for 7tl(about £2.30) which we chose to do the mornings that we were up in time!

When we ate at the hotel the food has been good, and is very reasonably priced.

The hotel is opposite a small supermarket, and around the corner from a slightly larger one. It's about a five minute walk to the beach where you get waited on hand and foot, and about 15-20 mins down to the marina an water fountains.

Overall great staff who were friendly and polite, and a lovely holiday. Would definitely book to come here again!

The Hotel Green Palm is situated on the western edge of Marmaris. The hotel is in a quiet location sorrounded by schools and other hotel establishments. It does get noisy with loud music in the afternoons and evenings.

The hotel is small but really clean and the rooms are small but big enough for most holiday needs.

The owner is either just a grump or very shy but his people skills are not forthcoming. However the jewel in this hotel are the two main members of staff Osman and Alex. Who are just brilliant nothing is ever enough.

Make sure you have £25 sterling for the aircon and another Tenner for the safe box if you do wish.

Breakfast is a normal Turkish affair but you can pay a very reasonable 7TL for a big full English breakfast.

The pool and bar area are lovely.

Also don't bother taking toiletries as there is a brilliant little shop across the road who is cheaper the supermarkets. Beware though the owner (aka Victor Meldrew) does not entertain bringing food or water into the hotel. But most ignored this. A magnum ice cream in the shop is 25p! Also water is 3 times as cheap!

Overall we really liked it and would definetly go again

We stayed here for a week on a bed and breakfast board.
We arrived at 4 am and check in wasn't as swift as it could be . The printer had broken.
The rooms are very basic but as you only sleep in them that isnt a problem
Each room has a fridge and a tv. Our tv didn't work but we weren't there to watch tv
The manager is very miserable but osman the barman and alex the chef are both fantastic. Without these 2 the hotel couldn't function. The air con in each room cost £25 for the week but it was a god send. The breakfast is typically turkish but we both loved it.
I wouldn't say it was a 3 star hotel but you get what you pay for and we would definately go back.

It was a nice clean modern hotel, I was very happy with the room and I am a very fussy person! The rooms are clean. The bar man and chef were nice, friendly and welcoming the food was nice and we were able to choose what we wanted to eat at dinner time ( me and my partner went half board) this hotel Is excellent for couples nice and quiet. However the hotel owner was very unwelcoming and moody all the time mainly because we werent purchasing drinks from their bar which was expensive considering if you go to the shops down the road its significantly cheaper. You are not allowed to bring food or drink into the hotel rooms. So attempt to hide them. The hotel next door often plays loud music between 8-12 pm so if you are attempted to catch an early night or have young children staying here I doubt you'll get much sleep between those hours. Despite the downfalls this is a nice hotel all rooms come with mini fridge , TV, hair dryer etc. (why have a mini fridge if you are not allowed food and drink in the rooms? No idea).

Just got back this morning and i have to say the hotel was very clean and modern, the staff were absoultey lovely so accomodating, got to be the friendliest people i have met!
Alex and Osman are the bar man and chef and they are always happy and chatty i couldnt fault this hotel in anyway! Their food was nice and the breakfast was typically Turkish but nice. The pool is only shady in the mornings once it hits 1-2 the sun is on the pool. 5 minute walk to the bars/restaurants on the seafront.

Overall i had the best holiday at this hotel and will be going back next year!

Thanks Osman, Alex and Ilyias!
