“A restorative delight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2011

We stayed here three nights and loved it. After the hustle of Istanbul and the crowds at Ephesus this was a place of peace and quiet. Loved the pool and being able to look out over the remarkable landscape. The food was excellent and the price very reasonable. The room was basic but very comfortable and kept clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. This is a treasure of a place and so good to get away from the tour groups.

Such a fantastic view !!We just wanted to switch off and relax. Silence...Only you can hear goat voice ,beahhh beahh:)
we really liked boutique hotel concept . Your expectations shouldn`t be like 4 /5 stars hotel. Rooms were clean and basic. Stuff were very friendly , smiling all the time and very helpfull...Especially the owner Solenne is doing great Mochito!!! She is a lovely person, knows how to run business in Turkey and speaks very well Turkish.
Generally we prefer to spend time at sea.(especially if we are talking about Selimiye ) But after realizing the view from the pool, we decided to spend whole day at the hotel .It was amazing!
Definately you should try Solenne`s Mochito. if you will decide to eat at the hotel , be careful when you are ordering because portions are too big and delicious at the same time!!

If you are looking for a peaceful and unforgettable couple of days definitely you should go Terrasses De Selimiye.....

We will be there again for sure...

After a week with a Gulet, we were looking forward for 1 more week in Turkey. We hadn´t booked anything in advance but had visited the small town of Selimiye on our boat trip and loved the tranquility and style. After having spent an afternoon at Aurora Bar, a beautiful restaurant bu the seaside and having talked to the owner, they recommended the Les Terrasses de Selimiye. Being tired and quite dusty from our boot trip it was lovely to check in at this beautiful hotel. The outdoor areas are wonderful, a bit like hotels we have visited at Bali, very beautifully decorated and with a fabulous view. The rooms where very simple, and could have been cleaner, the bathrooms had no ventilation and there was very little space for lugguage. The terrasse outside the rooms were beautiful, but could have been cleaned during the day as goes for the room. The hotel offered mosquito plugs and laundry services - very usefull and the staff was alltogether very friendly and helpful.

A couple of things we really enjoyed! Taking the sheep track from the hotel down to the harbour when going for dining. A very genuine experience, walking thru gardens with sheep, cows, almonds trees and local friendly people. Visiting the hotels own beach, a lovely private spot, with a great restaurant 3 squares from the beach. Having a Raki on the hotels terrase during night, seing all the small bats, the lights from town and enjoying the nice quiet ambience together with the other hotel guests.

A very recommendable place to stay, high quality in a very local environment.

This is a great find, ideal if you want to just switch off and relax. The views are stunning, the rooms very comfortable and the food great, not least the price for demi-pension. I'm a bit surprised at some of the negative comments below. Solenne, the owner, is offering a great alternative to mass market travel and is doing a great job. Give it a try!

on arriving at the hotel, you are met by the owner who hands you over to the delightful, forever smiling, Suzanne, and one of the most stunning views you're likely to come across. The poolside area is clean and attractive, however this was the fourth pool of our trip and the only one we couldn't see the bottom of. It was also often strewn with dead flies etc. The little children's pool beside it, by contrast was clear and inviting. By our fourth day the pool had been swept of debris and the water was becoming clearer than it had been.
The room was very small, spartan with little cupboard space. The en suite had no ventilation which meant it remained wet for some time - this was dangerously slippy. The space outside our room was lovely with comfy chairs and a turkish table where you could relax and soak up the view - this could have been enhanced had the glass panels been clean.
Breakfasts were ample with much to choose from: olives, feta, bread, jam, honey, eggs as you wish, fresh juice, tea, coffee and lovely little cakes.
We had two meals: one a kofte, which we thought was one of the tastiest we'd had and two - a chicken sish. This was okay but spoiled by an unattractive mountain of french fries, chipshop-proportion style and some shredded lettuce drowned in balsamic vinegar.(not the much anticipated french cuisine we had read about) When asked if we had enjoyed our meal the best we could muster was an okay. The surprised owner sarcastically congratulated us and wished to shake my wifes hand for 'being the first in 15 years who hadn't enthused abouttheir meal. An embarrassing defensive arguement then ensued which we had difficulty withdrawing from. This unfortunate incident marred the tranquility that this hotel had to offer. Our host requested that we eat at the hotel the following night to 'leave us with a better memory' however we declined feeling the experience would be too uncomfortable for both parties. There are numerous delightful restuarants along the waters edge - the experience of which should not be missed. In summary strengths were: breathtaking views; delightful local staff, lovely breakfasts. Downside: lacked polish, experienced management and room size

Room Tip: Room 6 looked a bit more spacious

This hotel is in the little resort of Selimiye. We arrived, as most foreign visitors seem to, on a yacht. We wanted to have one day and night away from the boat on our own - and found this place on tripadvisor on the day we arrived in Selimiye. We called and spoke with the properiortress, who is French (my husband found it easier to communicate in French than English). We were offered the incredible rate of 58 Euros. One of the owners (and chef) came down to the sea shore to pick us up - the hotel is way up a steep hill.
The pictures of the hotel on its site are very accurate, the infinity pool is fanatastic and the view from it is just amazing, down over Selimiye. The setting is really one of a 'hideaway'. The receptionist who met us was a local girl and though her English was not good (why should it be?! We're so arrogant, us Brits!) she was very smiley and polite.

The room was really the only thing which lets the hotel down. It was just too basic. It didn't really matter for us as this was one night and we only spent the sleeping hours in the room (though the bed was very hard, as all seem to be in Turkey). The shower room was tiled with matt tiles throughout (bit like a changing room at the municipal pool), and acted as a wet room, but didn't drain very quickly, so was very wet on the floor even after half an hour. There was no tv, radio, directory, water, tea and coffee, glasses, pictures on the wall, cushions (other than bed pillows), chair, wardrobe. Just nothing to add any interest or comfort to the room. A few inexpensive touches would have made a difference to the stay. I definitely would need something a bit 'softer' for a few days' stay.
Despite this, the room had its own little terrace, with the stunning view, two comfy seats.

The dinner we had there was a set menu (salad, sea bass and apple tarte tatin). It was 15 euros (extra for wine - though the best value wine we had found in Turkey) and it was beautiful. The ingredients and the cooking were first class and amazing value. The setting, under a gazebo with twinkling lights, looking at the pool and terrace.

All in all, Terrasses was superb, and if we are ever back in Selimiye, we'll be back.

Arrived up a very dusty road to find no parking space and what seamed a long flight of very steep stairs to gain access to the hotel. What a haul to carry heavy cases!

On arrival the room we had booked had not been passed by the authorities and we were offered an alternative room which was at best basic with no real facilites. The hotel position is striking but the room facilities just didn`t match. My wife was so distressed on what was on offer we decided to turn around and find alternative accommodation.

This hotel is in a beautiful location on the steep hillside and the exterior of the building looked great. However, a holiday is more than exterior looks. The hotel is ok for backpackers but for the more discerning I would suggest to look elsewhere. The proprieter did not even bother to let us know that the room we booked was not available.
