“Thanks for a great holiday”
Reviewed August 23, 2008

My friend and I stayed in the Renia Park Apartments in August 2008 for 1 week. We were both in wheelchairs and on arrival at the hotel we noticed that although there were ramps, there wasn't a hope in hell of us being able to get up them. 45 degree slopes with a large drop at the end !

We both looked at each other and thought, oh no what have we let ourselves in for !

After being assisted up the ramp by the coach driver, we were met by the manageress who showed us our room.

Having only paid £300 for the trip we weren't expecting much, but we had a pleasant surprise, spacious bedroom each, plus 2 double sofa beds in the lounge. The apartment could have slept 7, so provided ample space for us to get around in our wheelchairs. Only slight problem was the size of the bathroom, but for most people this wouldn't be a problem.

With regards to the plonker who wrote about self catering room having no cooking facilities, ours didn't have any either.... BUT do you know what we did ??? We asked for some. And hey presto ! the next day was 2 cooking rings, some pans and utensils. Which is enough coupled with the microwave fridge and kettle provided.

As far as the staff go, they could not be more helpful if they tried. I would like to say a massive thanks to Apollo, Charlie and especially "G" !!! Without them our holiday wouldn't have been possible.

The pool area is nice and the food is good. My only problem is the bar is VERY overpriced !!! I think the money grabbing owners should take note of this, we went to the hotel just down the road nearly every day where drinks were cheaper.

Overall I would recommend the hotel !!

I would recommend this hotel to anybody.

Just a short walk from the beach and town centre and looked very impressive when we got there. Shown to our room, which was up 8 flights of stairs (no lifts). 1 double bed and 2 sofas for 5 of us but they refused to change rooms. We were self catering but, strangely, there were no cooking facilities. Some rooms have a microwave and some rooms have a kettle - we just had a fridge and sink! The air conditioning was very expensive (£40 for 1 week) and we realised the only room which was air conditioned was the bedroom. The digital safe in the room was £15 for 1 week but I've since found out that every room in the hotel has the same code for the safe! The shower controls were hanging off the wall and the shower head had to be held up as it had fell off the wall. The ceiling in the bathroom was plastic cladding which kept falling down. The hotel has just been refurbished but to be honest it looks as if it was done in a rush and certainly not to a decent standard. We were in a room near the back of the hotel which backs onto a cafe. The cafe owners have a massive alsation dog which is tied to a tree day and night and loves to practise his barking at 5am! There is a fairly cheap supermarket just down the road but even though the hotel is self catering, they don;'t like you bringing food in and a lady had her bag inspected and they tried to confiscate a bottle of juice she had bought at the shop because they sell it at the bar (for 5 times the price). If you want to wipe your botty, you have to ask for a toilet roll and are charged 1 TL for the priviledge! The rooms are only cleaned and towels changed if you pester them to do it. If you need any info you have to pay 1 TL for a leaflet and any questions about things like what time do we get picked up to go back to the airport are met with 'don't know - bye'! We actually had to travel out to the reps office to find out when we were getting collected. Also, another thing I didn't like was that they take your passports off you and they are left on a desk in the office which is unlocked and unmanned for most of the day.

  • Liked — Handing in the keys on the day we left!
  • Disliked — Shoddy, basic
