“Very good restaurant”
Reviewed August 3, 2011

We've had a dinner & eaten "tandır". This is my favourite because healtier than barbecue / direct flame cooking, and meat is very soft + delicious.
Not only the dishes, also atmosphere, toilets, prices etc were very good, nothing to complain.
Thanks to the owner.

“Best dining experience in Turkey!”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

This restaurant has not left my mind since I left! So amazing! We took the dolmus from Fethiye to Kayakoy and wandered around the old ruins. After we had our fair share of ruins we followed the directions down a little dirt road towards where the restaurant was. It seemed so out of place that we weren't too sure if we were still going the right way, but then we came upon Cinbal and to our surprise there were quite a few cars in the parking lot! We went into the gorgeous courtyard and got one of the raised up tables on the side (ie. platform with cushions and short table) and decided to go for the bbqing our own food. We could choose mezes and the meat to cook from inside and they brought the bbq and then all the food out for us. It was a massive feast!!

The atmosphere was amazing! The courtyard had vines and grapes hanging from above and drinking wine and eating the delicious food while propped up against cushions is still one of the best memories from our trip.

Walking back to the dolmus stop in the pitch black was a bit of an adventure, but all part of the charm! I HIGHLY recommend making the trek from Fethiye to get here!

“AS GOOD AS EVER”
Reviewed July 20, 2011

We visited Cinbal again this year on holiday after 2 great nights last year. We called to book a Turkish cushion (raised cushion area with table which you sit around with shoes of) and we were met at our taxi with the same waiter who served us last year who greeted warmly and welcomed us back.
Please note that there is no menu at this restaurant but everything is very reasonably priced. We just asked for house wine which was very good.
The men then go inside to select which meat we want. They will advise you on how much to order depending on how many people are eating (my husband always seems to order far too much!).

You are then brought water, mezze, peppers, tomatoes and onions for your bbq and loads of fresh bread and salad.
Then a bbq is delivered to the side of your table and you are left to cook on your own. They will again give advice on what to cook first or will help with the cooking if required but thats the fun part. This year we allowed my 13 year old son to do most of the cooking which he done well.

Cinbal is a very laid back restaurant so plan to spend the whole evening. It really does have a great atmosphere with tourists and Turkish families alike. There is a small play area at the front for smaller children.

This has become one of the restaurants we really look forward to visiting and highly recommend it.

POINTS TO NOTE;
Cinbal is actually before the village of Kayakoy and if its your first time in the area it is well worth traveling the few minutes around the road in to Kaya to have a pre dinner drink as it is a wonderful little place to see.

Also ladies if you are booking a Turkish cushion wear a long skirt or dress as sitting with feet up.

Baklava (turkish dessert a must)
