Get on a dolmus from Hisaronu and go up to Kaya. It is quite amazing. A huge, empty, decaying village stretching up the side of the hill and across the valley. Climb up to the little chapel at the top (well worth the effort) and you get a panoramic view of the size of the place and the dozens of ruined buildings, churches, the school etc. Both churches are being opened to the public in May 2014 so a visit will be even more interesting.

I wasn't expecting much from this trip as other people has suggested that there was nothing to see, but for me, it was the history attached to it, watching and eating the pancakes the ladies were making. Although a small village I enjoyed it.

Went independently by Dolmus so didn't have to watch the clock. What an eerie but amazing place. Wear sensible shoes. Climb right up to the top of the village for amazing views of surrounding valley. Should be protected as a sight of special interest.

Visited the "ghost town" while on holiday in Ovacik.
It really is well worth a visit and a very interesting place.
Make sure you have water as it was very hot the day we went. Also comfy shoes are a must if you want to get a good look at the place.
