My wife and I went to the Bahar hotel for our honeymoon after having the trip paid for by my mum. To be honest, we had seen the Bahar in the listings when we planning the trip, and originally ignored it due to the fact it was rated 3 stars, however that was a big mistake! When we arrived, the reception guy was incredibly friendly and chatty, even though it was 5am and we were checked in and in our room in less than 5 mins. We were in room 204 which was overlooking the pool, as far as we could tell all rooms had a pool view apart from 2 on the ground floor ( Could be wrong on this though).

The food was always delicious and well cooked, although not much variety, but then what they had would usually appeal to most guests, ie usually "english" food with a turkish twist, and we found ourselves eating all our meals at the restaurant, which is by the pool, as is the bar. We never had reason to complain about the food at all and if there is something you don't like, there are plenty of restaurants along the sea front for you to choose from. The kitchen staff were always smiling and greeting you when you came for a meal, even breakfast. Unlike some all inclusives, there are no snacks for you to choose between meals, but there is a little market next to the hotel that sells all manner of crisps and chocolate for next to nothing. Although the bar is open from 11:00 to 23:00, you can get water and fruit juice 24 hours a day. When the bar is open, you get a good choice of spirits and soft drinks, and the local beer, Perge I think it was called.

The hotel is in an excellent location, and seems quiet and secluded when you laze around the pool, however 30 seconds walk from your room, out the back of the hotel, you get to the seafront and promenade, which is absolutely full of bars and restaurants, I can thoroughly recommend watching the sun set in a sofaboat in the Lighthouse cocktail bar, which is directly adjacent to the hotel, and going for a singalong in the Bus Stop Karaoke bar further up. There is a small shopping area in Calis Beach (where the hotel is actually located) but there are minibuses every few minutes to the centre of Fethiye, with a larger variety of shops.

The other thing that I commented to my wife about was the cleanliness of the place, the rooms and all communal areas where kept spotless, including the pool. I'm usually wary of outside pools, but this one was so inviting and clean I wanted to spend hours in there! The cleaning staff were always friendly and it was quite amusing to come back to your room and find out how your towels had been laid out, as it was a different pattern every day!

The hotel appears to be exclusively Olympic when it comes to package holidays, which is good because the rep attached to this hotel was Emre, and he was an absolutely fantastic rep, the kind of guy that you would happily socialise with if he wasn't so busy!

As other reviews have said, dont pay the cheap price and expect 5* accomodation on the cheap, however you do get a fantastic little, almost boutique, hotel with good food, friendly staff and good clean facilities, you even get free wifi and air conditioning whereas some places charge extra for these.

I think the most telling aspect of a review is whether you would go again, and recommend it to friends and family, to say we are planning to go back next year answers that question!

We had this booked for us as a suprise and flew out on the 4th July a couple of days after our wedding. To be honest if we booked ourselves we would have not even looked at this hotel but I am so glad we did.

On arrival we were met by our olympic rep (emre) who explained everything about the hotel on the transfer. we arrived at 5am on 5th of july and were given our room key and told the time of breakfast and what time the rep would be back for our welcome meeting.

we were told about the hotel and given the chance to book excursions. We booked the 12 island boat trip (highly recommened).

The hotel was not 5 star hotel but for the price you pay it was excellent, the staff couldn't have made us feel more welcome if they tried. All meal times were brilliant and although the salads weren't varied much daily the food was fantastic everyday, from curry to chicken nuggets it was very varried.

there were plenty of sun loungers with at least 15 spare a day which are located round the beautiful pool which is cleaned daily. the only downside to the pool is it closes at 7:30pm but in the hotels deffence people had consumed lots of alcohol by then so it wouldnt have been safe.

I have read reviews on here and noticed alot of people complaining about the barman. so let me put the story straight he gets to work just after 10am has a bite to eat for breakfast then starts work before hes supposed to he works solidly all day in the heat which for us was 40 degrees. the bar doesn't close till 11pm and he only gets a few breaks even after that he continues to work till around 12pm. Ofcourse he is going to be tired so thats a very unfair statement that he is grumpy. (In our case he got grumpy once and thats because at 10:50pm someone ordered 25 beers). we always found him pleasent, always said hello, always gave us smiles and never complained when our big group of friends ordered at least 20 drinks just before closing. he was brilliant.

the kitchen staff were great and so friendly (the man always shaking your hand every morning and asking how you were, and fatima always smiling)

to me this hotel had no faults they were brilliant and we are already saving for our next holiday to the bahar hotel.

we made great friends and had some great nights by the pool and the bar along the beach (the bus stop karaoke bar).

the 12 island boat trip is a must but please go with the reps as they are very entertaining. the islands are beautiful and you get to swim in the middle of the sea near some beautiful bays.

olympic reps bilgin and emre you are both brilliant keep up the good work :) we miss you already.

this hotel is a must!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a fantastic hotel the Bahar is. The rooms are basic but cleaned every day, the food although not that much variety the quality is very good, theres a wide range of soft drinks to choose from with also red wine white wine larger raki vodka gin and brandy , the pool is kept very clean and is lovely and warm, the staff are fantastic and go out of there way to help you, the location is fantastic with the beach just a minute walk away and there are many bars and restaurants just a short walk away .Just a quick mention about the Olympic Rep cant think of his name but he had fantastic knowledge off the local area so its well worth going to the welcoming get together meeting (if you book through Olympic Holidays that is ) If you are thinking off booking the 12 island boat trip I would book it with him we did and we got a boat exclusive to Olympic Holiday makers there was only about 25 people on-board and had a fantastic day .

We travelled in a group of eight and all in all had a brilliant time for just under £300 each and would defiantly go back to the Bahar Hotel

visited the Bahar Hotel 20/06/2011 for two weeks. The hotel is in a great position next to the beach. The rooms are basic but clean with FREE air conditioning & all usual accesories, the linen was changed regularly with clean towels daily. The restaurant serves Turkish food with a mix of English, if you are one of the knotted hankie brigade who wants to eat BACON BEANS BURGERS & BLACK PUDDING WITH ROAST BEEF & YORKSHIRES ON A SUNDAY then go elsewhere. The bar serves local beer & spirits from 11/11, but beware it closes promptly at 11pm. The barman PARISH is a complete waste of space, rude arrogant & bad tempered. The pool is a good size & very clean, spoilt only by a longstanding problem of a shortage of sunbeds which the hotel management & OLYMPIC holidays are aware of but choose to ignore?? people were having to pay for sunbeds on the beach which is rather unfair, the problem is made worse by selfish people putting towels on the beds and then going off on trips for the day!!!!! The staff are very friendly & helpful. There is Free internet in the reception area and FREE water& tea & coffee all day. On departure day you have to vacate your room at 12 noon, but can reserve your room until 6pm for a charge of £10 per PERSON, not all rooms were available to reserve as they had to be cleaned for the next arrivals, some people who had evening return flights were left from 12 noon sat in the reception area without any changing or shower facilities which is also unfair!! to make matters worse you are charged 10 Turkish Lira if you want a meal after 12 noon, whilst waiting for your departure time.Overall a good enjoyable stay.

For the price we paid for this all inclusive holiday (£240pp!), it far exceded any of our expectations. There is very little to fault. The rooms were spotlessly cleaned with fresh towels and sheets on a daily basis. The food was a little limited in variety but all tasted good. The sunbeds are taken very early in the morning but the beach is a stones throw away. The staff were all very friendly and were keen to help in any way. I really liked the barman, he had a great sense of humour! He could be quite mischevious at times. I've read other reviews about the barman been tired. Im not suprised! There was one day we spent at the poolside, he arrived at 10.30am. Had a bit of brekkie and was working well before 11am. On our return WELL after 11pm that night he was still there and was still smiling, waved and wished us a good night.
The location of the hotel was great. Situated along the front in amongst all the shops, resturants and bars. The Dolmus buses were a bargain to get you about, cost 1.75tl (about 80p). There is a bar located on the seafront connected to the hotel which does cocktails at a discount for hotel guests.
All in all this is a great place to vist and we would not hesitate in returning to this hotel!!

We stayed for 2 weeks and had a great time, we thought the hotel and all inclusive approach offered great value for money and exceeded our expectations and indeed we are going back in Aug/Sept. Just don't expect the same level of all inclusive you get in big 4* hotels. The rooms are reasonably spacious and equipped and kept spotlessly clean with regular towel and linen changes. Staff were very friendly and helpful and took the time to chat and get to know guests and make them welcome. Hotel in a central location on promenade with shops and restaurants. All inclusive food was well cooked with fresh local ingredients with a reasonable variety and mix of Turkish and English dishes. At breakfast the chef provided eggs or pancakes and cooked tomatoes in addition to the normal Turkish breakfast. At lunch and dinner the salads were particularly good and there was normally one or two meat or fish dishes. The grilled trout and the barbeque was very nice. The bar was a bit hit and miss - the vodka and gin and raki are OK but avoid the brandy. Excellent pool but spoiled by other guests putting their towels on the sunbeds from 7.30am for the whole day whether or not they would be at the pool for the whole day which meant that if you arrived at the pool after about 9.00 am you were unable to get a sunbed. They could probably fit a few more sunbeds around the pool which might help the situation or it might help if the staff removed towels from sunbeds which had remained unoccupied for more than an hour or two. .
