My wife and I went to the Bahar hotel for our honeymoon after having the trip paid for by my mum. To be honest, we had seen the Bahar in the listings when we planning the trip, and originally ignored it due to the fact it was rated 3 stars, however that was a big mistake! When we arrived, the reception guy was incredibly friendly and chatty, even though it was 5am and we were checked in and in our room in less than 5 mins. We were in room 204 which was overlooking the pool, as far as we could tell all rooms had a pool view apart from 2 on the ground floor ( Could be wrong on this though).
The food was always delicious and well cooked, although not much variety, but then what they had would usually appeal to most guests, ie usually "english" food with a turkish twist, and we found ourselves eating all our meals at the restaurant, which is by the pool, as is the bar. We never had reason to complain about the food at all and if there is something you don't like, there are plenty of restaurants along the sea front for you to choose from. The kitchen staff were always smiling and greeting you when you came for a meal, even breakfast. Unlike some all inclusives, there are no snacks for you to choose between meals, but there is a little market next to the hotel that sells all manner of crisps and chocolate for next to nothing. Although the bar is open from 11:00 to 23:00, you can get water and fruit juice 24 hours a day. When the bar is open, you get a good choice of spirits and soft drinks, and the local beer, Perge I think it was called.
The hotel is in an excellent location, and seems quiet and secluded when you laze around the pool, however 30 seconds walk from your room, out the back of the hotel, you get to the seafront and promenade, which is absolutely full of bars and restaurants, I can thoroughly recommend watching the sun set in a sofaboat in the Lighthouse cocktail bar, which is directly adjacent to the hotel, and going for a singalong in the Bus Stop Karaoke bar further up. There is a small shopping area in Calis Beach (where the hotel is actually located) but there are minibuses every few minutes to the centre of Fethiye, with a larger variety of shops.
The other thing that I commented to my wife about was the cleanliness of the place, the rooms and all communal areas where kept spotless, including the pool. I'm usually wary of outside pools, but this one was so inviting and clean I wanted to spend hours in there! The cleaning staff were always friendly and it was quite amusing to come back to your room and find out how your towels had been laid out, as it was a different pattern every day!
The hotel appears to be exclusively Olympic when it comes to package holidays, which is good because the rep attached to this hotel was Emre, and he was an absolutely fantastic rep, the kind of guy that you would happily socialise with if he wasn't so busy!
As other reviews have said, dont pay the cheap price and expect 5* accomodation on the cheap, however you do get a fantastic little, almost boutique, hotel with good food, friendly staff and good clean facilities, you even get free wifi and air conditioning whereas some places charge extra for these.
I think the most telling aspect of a review is whether you would go again, and recommend it to friends and family, to say we are planning to go back next year answers that question!
