We went end of July 2009. We paid a lot for this all inclusive 7 day trip for family of 4, first holiday abroad, tend to book last minute since then (6-8 weeks before).

Location - Fethyie is beautiful & the turkish people are very friendly & not too pushy. Bit of friendly banter at the shops, you'll hear........genuine fake a lot & they like to barter, just enjoy!!

Hotel & apartments - they are a bit dated, but clean & have stocked drinks fridge. We were quite far so had lots of steps & bit of a walk to get to pool, etc, but does no harm.

Food - Fabulous choice, fresh, snacks all the time.......loved it!

Pool - lovely pool area & flumes going into the sea. Activities fairly extensive in high season. Shows in the evening, pretty cheesy & the usual for a resort.

Staff - helpful, friendly, can't complain.

Weather - AMAZING in July, beginning August.........late 30's/early 40's, almost too hot!!

Loved it & would go back ;-)

Room Tip: If you have mobility problems, you need to ask for a room in the hotel or close by pool, lots steps...

The island where the hotel is located is amazing. You will pass by beaufitul green areas to reach your destination. But as soon as you reach the place, you won't be able to leave except on the boat to visit Fethiye or in a trip with a mini bus. Actually, you won't need to leave the place at all because you've got everything you need. We travelled as a couple and we stayed there for 1 week. Five days is enough for a couple but if you were travelling with your family, you would definitely enjoy staying more. All the facilities are provided by the hotel, all kinds of sports, theater, dancing in the evening, food and alcohol. You can basically spend the day eating, but don't worry about gaining weight bacause you will be loosing a lot of energy with all the activities around, and the walking all day long. The only negative side that I found was the room. I wasn't surprised though because i read reviews in advance, but to be honest the room needs redecoration. The bed and the pillows might cause you some back pain! We had to climb the stairs to get to our room, but i preferred so, to burn what i ate earlier during the day. Wherever you go on the island you will find people ready to help you, they are so friendly and cooperative. I also advise you to buy Fur from Fethiye,it's not that cheap but definitely cheaper than other places. All in all, it was a good stay, but I recommend this place for family members more than honeymooners.

Room Tip: If you don't like walking, book a room in the hotel better than the bangalos

I have stayed in Letoonia twice now and am about to book my 3rd visit. Both times i have stayed in th last week of June (2010 & 2011) with my 2 daughters - 1 teenager and my youngest who is now 8. I travelled alone with them, and have to say felt very safe in the resort at all times, with no hassle from anyone. The only time i felt a bit worried was in my taxi to the complex (this takes approx an hour). Unless you want the driver to stop at every opportunity (views, shops for juice, shops for snacks for your kids) which would of been nice on a shorter transfer and not alone, you have to be quite firm with the driver. I learnt this after my first trip - thought he was pulling over so we could be abducted!!! to find out he was showing us the view, or buying us things (obviously was after a nice wee tip!!!). 2nd time round, got in the cab, said "no stopping, straight to the hotel please" and this is what i got :-).
Rooms, as others have said are dated and a bit on the small side, but kept very clean & water well stocked up in your fridge. I called reception as soon as i arrived and asked them to send someone up to clean out the air-con and they did which always makes it work perfectly!.
The facilities at Letoonia are amazing! 3 swimming pools, restaurants with fantastic food - and i may say all day long! Nice beer at the bar (think the alcohol is maybe slightly watered down). My girls absolutely loved the food there and there was always something they could eat - and if they didnt like it, they went back up for more and more!! - and my youngest is very fussy!!!!!!!!
The pedalos, canoes, one man sailing boats and windsurfers are free of charge throughout the day which is great! and always very friendly and helpful. The entertainment staff always put on an amazing show at night - i have paid £30 per ticket per person for shows that havent been half as good!. Different areas for you to walk to throughout the day also and in the afternoon when my daughter was a bit tired of being in the sun, there are lovely banana shaped hammocks throughout the grounds that you can lie on either in the shade or in the sun and read a book.
One of the words i would use to sum this place up is BLISS!!!!!!! Booking today to return with my youngest daughter again in June and cannot wait to go! Dont let the reviews of the rooms put you off as the rest of the holiday well and truly makes up for this!
Dont be fooled, i am a fussy traveller who has stayed in 5 stars all over the world (lets face it we know a 5 star in Turkey is never going to be like a 5 star in Dubai!!!)

Room Tip: If you have walking difficulties, take a room in the hotel rather than a bungalow as they have alot...

We stayed here in late June 2010. Two adults and two children aged 9 and 13. We have stayed in a few all inclusive hotels in Greece and Turkey so know the format and what to expect.
In terms of location, the Letoonia is excellent. It is a relatively short boat ride to Fethyie the nearest town and the boat leaves from the hotel at regular intervals (for a relatively small fee). If you hire a car for a few days there is plenty to see in terms of archeological remains, my favourite past-time. The views from the hotel are quite simply beautiful. The hotel complex is set out on a peninsula which allows you to get a half decent walk each day with some lovely scenery.
The rooms are set out in small blocks and ours had a stunning view with a small balcony. I agree with previous reviewers that they are a bit dated but still ok.
There are two main buffet restaurants. Go for the moonlight restaurant as the setting is lovely and far better than the other . Yes, after 2 weeks the food becomes a bit dull but, overall, we found the quality to be quite good.
There are a couple of small sandy coves/beaches on the grounds and the rest of the peninsula is a paved walkway with sunbeds dotted along. There are also a number of small jetties where you can swim or sunbathe on the beanbags or sunbeds dotted around.
This is a large hotel complex so not particularly personal. However, it has some really stunning views, reasonably good service, good facilities, a good atmosphere and the food is varied. Five star in Turkey is not the same as 5 star in a major city but, nevertheless, we had a really relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting and really couldn't fault it ...

Room Tip: if you have walking difficulties ask for a room near the lifts or lower down as quite hilly

We stayed at Letoonia in August 2011 for 12 nights. It was a great family holiday. Myself, husband and daughter aged 8 found it the most beautiful place and has many things about it you would not find anywhere else. We have been to Turkey numerous times.
Our room was the only disappointment but after reading reviews we knew what to expect. It was in a block close to reception, up many stairs. The balcony was over grown with trees and branches and we had no view. The room was in need of updating, small for the three of us, my daughter had a camp bed which was adequate but we were a little cramped.
The food was fine. We tried the fish restaurant which wasn’t that good. The sushi and Turkish restaurant were very nice and it made a change to be waited on. We ate in the Moonlight restaurant one night which was the same food as the main one but a nicer setting.
The complex is huge; we tended to stay around the pool beside reception which also has a beach next to it. My daughter made loads of friends and loved playing in the pool next to the spa which had a roof which made it shaded and she could play there with her friends.
We had a trip to Fethiye on the water bus from the hotel which was worth a trip, it is more a town and not very touristy. On a different day we got a taxi to Hisaronu where we had been to in previous years from outside the hotel (the taxi driver came back for us later in the day) and we went shopping for all the tat which can be bought in Turkey! The taxi was about £25 return.
We did a Thomson boat trip on our second last day which was excellent. It was great to sail out and see the hotel from the sea. We had lunch on board, stopped at a few different places, had an opportunity to go on a banana etc. It wasn’t crowded was just right.
One problem was that there were a high proportion of Lebanese staying at the hotel, apparently one of the owners is Lebanese and the hotel is widely advertised in Lebanon. Most of them were very rude and wandered seemed to think they owned the place; they certainly got served before us at the bar etc.
The entertainment was really good, my daughter certainly enjoyed it. They did an excellent Michael Jackson show.
A great holiday and well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Don't accept the first room if you are unhappy, we met several people during the holiday who cha...

We went to Letoonia in late 2010 but the travel dates they let you put here only go back to 2011 so have had to put that, and there may have been some changes since then. As in many aspects of life there are good things and not-so-good things, but overall we enjoyed our holiday there very much. If we were of a mind to, we could have let the negatives cloud the whole experience and focus entirely on that, but life's for savoring the good and realising that some negatives aren't worth ruining your holiday over.

This was my first trip to Turkey, and I loved it. Fantastic weather, warm friendly people, great scenery. We stayed in one of the 'bungalows' which curiously are 2 stories high, and are all along the hillside amongst the trees. The views were amazing and it's very pretty. The bungalows were quite 'tired' however, and there was room for improvement in facilities, e.g. no tea or coffee making facilities (which was simply remedied by a call to reception who had a kettle sent over within the hour) The tv would have been fine if you're Turkish or German, and although they may have been limited to what is locally available on whatever satelites they can receive, I think that the option of a dvd and a video store would have given guests more choice and provided a nice little earner for the resort. While the bungalows are in a pretty and scenic location, the paths weren't that well maintained and were too stoney to go bare-foot. Also LOTS of steps, although there was a cable-car lift if you didn't mind waiting a little while for it. One thing we did have a problem with and have also done with other resorts, was that our swipe-card door key kept failing, leaving us locked out of our room, and it was explained that it was a common problem due to the card having been next to a mobile phone at some point and magetic fields emitted by phones can wipe the information from the card - not something that affects credit cards though.
Food was nice enough and always plenty to eat with a fair choice, plus you could fill a caraffe of wine to take to your table. We preferred to eat in the open air restaurant above the disco, which had spectacular sunset views. As throughout Turkey, expect Russians who WILL push in front at every opportunity. Maybe it's their reaction to generations of them having to queue for every minor item in the past, but it's very irritating. By and large they weren't that big a problem except for one family's children who were vexatious brats. As a contrast there was a pleasant little Russian boy boy who was near us who was just a happy little chap interacting with us but not a nuisance. The entertainments (animation) team were brilliant and really good fun. Hotel staff, as is apparently usual for Turkey, work VERY long hours, but were good natured, polite and efficient.
While we didn't make use of all the facilities, we did notice that despite their claiming to have 'crazy golf' it turned out to be a derelict and unkempt area that you couldn't use. On the other hand, we tried the peddaloes, and a canoe, and found them in very good condition with plenty of support and help available from the attending staff who were really friendly.
On the subject of facilities - A really BIG negative was the 'Gold and Silver shop' and is still a sore point with me 2 years later. We went to look around and my partner took a liking to a ring in there. I asked what metal it was and was told that they were all silver, and the prices seemed to reflect that, and I bought the ring with the expectation that it was a silver ring with crystals for 'stones' like a Swarovski type of thing. However... once we were home we found it to not only be just silver plated, but very poorly plated as it just peeled off. Now, while I'd expect that from a street market out there, I really don't expect to get ripped off by an 'official' store within the resort, and thought it outrageous that the management would allow this type of fraud on their property.
On to brighter matters... We took a 7 island trip on the Letoonia yacht, which could be done cheaper by going in to Fetiye and getting a trip there, but the resort's yacht was lovely and all onboard had a brilliant day. My partner asked for a vodka and lime while onboard and got a huge tumbler of vodka, with a slice of lime in it! - much to the astonishment and amusement of the friendly germans next to us. Another excursion I went on was paragliding with a company called Icarus (which I found to be hillariously ironic consideringwhat they are offering) Had a great day although definitely NOT for the feint-hearted, with a white knuckle race up a mountain in a Jeep on very narrow windy roads with precipitous drops and no barriers. My paraglider 'pilot' was Ali who was an ex-paratrooper and an absolute star.

Overall, a very enjoyable holiday, but hotel management please note: sort your Jewellery shop out. It's unacceptable to rip off guests with fraudulent products!
