Delicious food, fab room with walk in wardrobe, amazing service, great cocktails, fabulously clean sea, super spa, great entertainment only let down was kids club which was a bit chaotic. Kids liked it but there didn't seem to be much control. Highly recommend hotel it was a wonderful holiday.

Let me first state that this is a wonderful resort. But a major design flaw of the rooms can make your stay miserable if it is cold and rainy. To get to the bathroom, you have to exit the room and walk through the balcony to your open-air bathroom. While the bathroom is covered, the balcony is not. So you are leaving your dry and warm room to go to the bathroom. This means you are getting rained on and tracking water into the bathroom and back into your bedroom every time you go back and forth. And the bathroom has no door so it's cold. We were there in October so we knew that the weather would be a risk. But the balcony should have a cover for the rainy times since that is the only way to get into the bathroom.

I also didn't like that they charge you for bottled water in your room. In a 3rd world country, bottled water should be plentifully provided in a resort like this. Also, during our stay there were many families which resulted in lots of kids running around the bar - at night. There should be a separate place for the adults to be able to hang out and listen to music without lots of kids running around.

This being an all-inclusive resort I thought the food was what you would expect in the buffet. Very average. There is a very large selection but the quality is what you get from a buffet. We did go to the separate restaurant called Pasha one night. The food was excellent. However, the rain seeped into the restaurant and formed a puddle around me as I ate dinner. This just added insult to injury given the rain problems in our room. Lastly, our room had the tiniest TV I've ever seen in a nice hotel. I get that usually you want to be out of the room, but we had non-stop rain during our stay so we were forced to spend more time in the room.

Now, had the weather been nice when we were there I'm sure we would have had a nice stay. The resort has many amenities and is in a beautiful cove. The staff was friendly as well.

The HBC was randomly selected with little or no prior knowledge and what a find it was.

Location. The HBC resort is tucked away in a small and amazingly clean bay round the headland from Fethiye and built from the shoreline up the hillside. The resort is gated, safe and secure. Its steep but they have two small funicular railways to help with the climb for those of us who are not mountain goats!

Accommodation. There are about 800 rooms I think so it’s not small but don’t be put off the place is well laid out and there is space for all. Our room was standard sea view and was very spacious, well designed and immaculately clean and tidy. It had everything we needed and an extremely roomy and functional bathroom with separated shower and wc. We were at the farthest point we could be from the resort centre which was wonderful as there were no kids billeted nearby with the sea to the front and woods to the side it was very peaceful. The 5 minute walk to the restaurants and bars was very pleasant as it follows the shoreline and is well lit at night.

Food. This resort has a food reputation of 100% and quite rightly so. The main restaurant buffet style meals are the best of their sort we have come across in the Med. There is so much choice and of such quality ingredients it was a real surprise. Dinner must have had about 300 dishes to choose from and we dinned on everything from fresh fish and seafood to roast, grilled, fried, baked and BBQ meats, pasta, rice, noodles, stews, casseroles, pies, pizzas, kebabs, soups, breads and every salad item known to man! The puddings were unbelievable and for those that like a healthy option; fruit by the cartload (literally). In the main restaurant the local beer, wine and soft drinks are complimentary without restriction.

Pasha Restaurant. You must book 24 hours ahead but worth the wait! More intimate than the Main Buffet Restaurant and open air it is a very nice setting. The food is a Mediterranean Messe starter with three choices of mains and puddings. Quality food throughout of which the highlight (for me) was the fresh octopus. You pay for your booze here and a bottle of plonk was £30.

Entertainment. Not our thing but we noticed that the production (lighting, sound etc) in the amphitheatre was very professional but the shows did look a bit “Butlins.” A Christmas special show in October was a bit strange! We did catch a bit of the Kids Show which featured guest kids and what we saw was hilarious.

General Summary.

An excellent resort. Highlights are the cleanliness of the sea, food, adult beaches, spas and staff. Only lowlight was the number of kids but that is personal choice!

Room Tip: Dont be put off if your room is away from the centre of things - you will love the tranquility.

Yes, it lived up to the reviews and the expectations. I'd pick-out the attractive location, the all round cleanliness, the good range and quality of food and drink, the enjoyable activities progammes (particularly for the "kids") and the decent cusomer service. I can't see it as being as nice if it rained too much - there aren't enough buildings with a roof! But in the sun it's great. Certainly value-for-money in October.

Room Tip: One with a balcony is nice - but beware the rain.

Although this was my 6th time in Hillside; I am impressed again as if it is the first time. They know very good to keep the things as they are without sacrificing from quality. Everything is thought for the guest's conveience. It was my first time with my kid, and I could also experience that they manage to make all the concept "child friendly" as well. Although it is an expensive vacataion, I prefer this way not to risk my precious time and they deserve to last penny!
Tchuess bis zum naechsten Mal!

Room Tip: All the rooms are very good , if you have a kid closer to the beach, easier it is.

This was our first visit to Hillside although over many years ,others have recommended it.We visited right at the end of the season, and the weather was no more than OK. One day of solid rain and cloud throughout. However everything you have read...is true. The location is beautiful ,4km from Fethiye but feels miles from anywhere surrounded by sea, trees and mountains.
The food is exceptional for such a large hotel ,and everything you mght want to do in a beach holiday, is there. As the hotel is in blocks built into the side of the mountain so doesnt feel large..The adult beaches are different and enjoyable when wanting some peace away from the more family orientated main beach and pool. There are water sports and kids clubs but they don't take over

.The bedrooms aren't luxurious but have everything you need and you soon get used to visiting the bathroom from your outside balcony although the central air con control is annoying ,all rooms have to be hot or cold. The evening entertainment was very good for us and our 16 year old particularly the final night party as the resort closed for winter.

What is perhaps hard to convey is the magic experienced in this resort and its hard to say why it's there, perhaps its that everything they do , they do very well, the service is outstanding but is very relaxed and understated and the views are magnificent..

Room Tip: The most convenient blocks which also have great views are 200,500 and 600.However all are good but...

we arrived at night time and we were very tired after connecting flights so luckiley we have booked the hotel car which was a nice mercedes with refrigator that had cold water, getting to the hotel from the airport took us around 1 hour and 5 minutes. when we arrived to hillside we knew we have made the right decision there was beautiful views and had dinner at the main buffet which was delicious and had many varieties for all tastes. we got the room with large balcony and the view was breathtaking, it was very quite didn't have problems sleeping. the beach area was nice, the water was refreshing and the weather was just perfect around 25 C by the end of sep/oct when we were there. i can't complain about anything we had a great time relaxing swimming and having delicious food. we are planning to visit fethiye hillside again

Room Tip: we got a room on a very high floor, which was many steps going up there, it was fine with us and the...
