In this winsome all natural setting and friendly staff, the Shambala offers peace of mind. Having one of the healthiest climates on Earth, be as relaxed or as active as you like during your vacation with optional activities such as coastal/mountain hikes or you can also simply relax by where the Aegean meets the Mediterranean Sea with a good book.

The place to come for romance or a complete hide-out from all worldly pressures. The setting is a knock-out, the food very good, the details simply divine: a giant bed-like swing under banana trees in a lucious garden, several decks with couches or piles of pillows on the edge of the cliffs, sleeping platforms next to hammocks on hidden garden paths, warm and friendly staff.
A little bit of hippie-chique with the magnificent setting like the Big Sur coast of California on the warm waters of this bay. I could have stayed weeks.

Room Tip: Ask for a cottage on the cliffs.

What can I say about our time at Shambala? It was nothing short of magical. The setting is unbelievably beautiful - it sits on cliffs that run right down into the sea. The water is calm and when we visited in September, warm enough to swim in. We frequently chartered skiffs (the hotel staff can help you) and went out to visit beaches with other guests from the hotel. There's a sea cave that hugs the cove on the beach that you won't want to miss. It's purple quartz inside and sparkles from the light that leaks in below the water line. We made great friends at the Shambala - everyone was really kind. The breakfasts and dinners are amazing - especially for a vegetarian like me!

In terms of practical considerations, Kabak is very remote and tough to reach from both land and sea. The bigger chartered boats can't get close to the shore because it's too rocky (thank God, you only need to go check out the Butterfly Valley to see what happens when too many oiled tourists pour in off of chartered booze cruises). Cars need to have AWD or they'll never make it into the valley. I contacted the hotel staff and get a transfer from Dalaman Airport. The van driver drove us right up to the valley road and then a Shambala 4x4 drove up to take us down into the valley. You can get there by dolmus, too.

Keep in mind that there are no ATMs at Shambala which ends up not mattering because there is nothing to buy. Pack carefully - Shambala doesn't offer much beyond liquid hand soap in the bathrooms so you'll need to bring your own shampoo, sunscreen, etc. A head lamp or flashlight will prove useful. The cabins are pretty rustic.

The staff is great and I highly recommend getting a massage from Kate. She's really talented and wonderful to get to know.

In short, if you're willing to rough it a little bit this is a very special place. I've never been anywhere else quite like it.

Room Tip: We stayed in R3 which had a deck with a wonderful view.

Lovely location but such a low service for the money you paid for. In fact we are not looking for service, but only kindness, anyway the luck of understanding who runs the Shambala is showing us it is a very materialist place which does not suit the ambience of Kabak .

We visited Kabak on the recommendation of a friend who had visited earlier this year. We were looking for a relaxing week long break, Kabak and The Shambala was certainly that.
We were collected from the airport on the first night and driven to the resort, we arrived too late for the evening meal but the manager gave us two complimentary meals from the ala carte menu, both delicious and we were shown to our room “high one”.
High One was perfect for us, comfortable bed, mini bar and balcony where we sat out on a night time taking in the amazing views of the valley and sunset. The resort itself has a nice pool with shaded areas, sun loungers and plenty other areas to relax. Breakfast and evening meal were both superb, the only complaint for breakfast was a lack of coffee, once it had ran out there was no more?
Staff were friendly and helpful, prices are as expected, it’s not exactly cheap but it’s priced reflective of are where you are, if you want cheap drinks and a full English then you’re in the wrong place, that’s your fault and not the Shambala, we visited most of the other camps and they were all priced the same, infact the Turan Lodge was more expensive. I’d say ignore the negative reviews below, we didn’t experience any of what has been written; i suppose they were maybe expecting something different.
Only negative point for us was our transfer to the village to catch the bus in to fethiye, they arrived with 15 minutes until the bus left, the driver stopped the jeep once and then at the top argued with us over the price which made us miss our bus and meant we had to get a taxi, this isn’t the fault of the Shambala as such, i would just recommend getting the transfer with more time to spare.

Room Tip: High One was worth the extra, if you're travelling in summer then i'd recommend a room with...

Such a fantastic view! We just wanted to switch off and relax. Silence...Only you can hear waves voice..
We really liked boutique hotel concept . Your expectations shouldn`t be like 4 /5 stars hotel. Rooms were clean and basic. Stuff were very friendly, smiling all the time and very helpfull...
Generally we prefer to spend time at sea. But after realizing the view from the pool, we decided to spend whole day at the hotel. It was amazing!
If you will decide to eat at the hotel , be careful when you are ordering because portions are too big and delicious at the same time!!

If you are looking for a peaceful and unforgettable couple of days definitely you should go to The Shambala!

Room Tip: must see; -Butterfly valley by boat trip -Kabak waterfall

We just left Shambala after a wonderful (unplanned) 2 weeks. We were only planning on staying 3 nights at Shambala as we were heading down the coast, but upon arriving to the breathtaking view, friendly staff and hearty food we changed plans to stay longer! The staff were very helpful in organizing boat trips and sharing the way to the waterfalls. Whether we had a day of adventuring in the valley or simply reading on the cosy deck chairs we were in heaven. We stayed in a bungalow, and although it was simple it is all you need in nature. I would recommend Shambala to all my friends traveling to Turkey and hope one day I can return.
