We’ve just returned from two excellent weeks at the Nevada and the staff are without doubt the friendliest we’ve ever experienced in over 40 years of travelling.
The current management (changed in October 2012) clearly aims to make your holiday the best possible and everyone goes out of their way to be helpful. As we were staying before the season got under way (early May), initially we had the hotel almost to ourselves, making it feel like our private villa. The service remained excellent even when the hotel filled up towards the end of our stay.
Some Dutch/German coach tour groups arrived every now and then but as they turned up in the evening and went after breakfast they caused no problems – especially as the rooms and corridors are carpeted so there’s little noise. The whole place is kept spotless (even down to having your room balcony vacuumed!!). The pool was tested daily and kept crystal clear, but without having too many chemicals added to it.
The hotel’s very modern, well fitted out and everything in the room works. We had room 204 which was a very large family room with two balconies, pool view and afternoon sun. The bathroom had a really large powerful shower and very hot water was always available.
The fact that free aircon / fridge / unlimited wi-fi / tea-coffee making facilities are all included is definitely a bonus although the flat screen TV is small and only has BBC World / EuroNews in English.
Good quality towels are changed as needed, always laid out beautifully, often with flower petals added. Bedding is changed at least twice a week and slippers/bath robe are provided.
We stayed on B&B and breakfast was the standard cold Turkish offering but with ‘cooked to order’ omelette or eggs – also free. The hotel did a buffet evening meal and reports we had from other guests was that it was very good.
The hotel’s located in a quiet residential area less than 10 minutes to the beach along a well lit route. The nearest supermarket is about 5 minutes away. Although there’s a dual carriageway to cross to either, it’s very lightly trafficked and convenient with plenty of Dolmus buses to Fethiye.
There’s a huge choice of places to eat out on the prom and main street. Most restaurants offer really good three course ‘meal deals’, often with free Turkish bread and mezze starters for £8-10 each. The best we went to were the Merhaba, Barbella’s and Ali’s.
